Cockroach solution! Mix borasic acid (powder from pharmacy) with condensed milk to a paste. Make small balls and put in corners of cupboards and drawers. All roaches will be gone within a few weeks. Hope that helps, good luck!
Thank you Lauren for sharing your life. We wish you the best for all your future adventures. A Breton family (France) who has been following you for a long time.
After watching you struggle to manually pull Up your anchor for all those months, the scene with the anchor coming straight up Under power gave me a ridiculous amount of pleasure!!
Good to see you getting more experienced with your travels. My poor little buddy Mako was having a time but glad you nursed him back to health and plucked him out of the drink!
Mako is a tough cookie. He will be fine as you can see. Mako needed one last dip in the water! I think it was the best thing to happen so the vet took good care of Laurens fur baby!!!!!
Nice video Lauren! I have to say I was worried about Mako and worried about you if something happened to him! I’m glad he is getting better. Lots of work ahead of you but what an awesome goal to get ready for the Pacific!
About the roaches try some powdered Boric Acid powder they ingest it when they clean themselves and it interferes with their digestive system and they starve, just sprinkle it where they travel, its also safe to use around food and pets.
First cockroach hunting party I've ever seen. A very enthusiastic group of hunters. Glad Mako is okay. This is a little glimpse into where we are in your timeline, and I thought Spear it Animal was a long way out of sync. I knew a few of the game night crew, so it was cool to see you among friends. Stay safe. ❤🙏
🌴🌴🌴 I have to admit that when Mako fell into the water 💦, That scared the heck out of me especially when you dropped the camera to get him. My heart skipped a couple beats there. I hope that being out of water works well with everything you need. Please keep safe and healthy wherever you go and whatever you do. Blessings from Paso Robles, California, Carlos
Hi Lauren, I’m a new subscriber from Australia after watching Sailing La Vagabonde for years. They just promoted you in one of their 7daily vlogs. Congratulations on sailing solo and I look forward to going back and watching some of your past adventures ⛵️☀️
All the best for the non sailing part of your life , look forward to getting back to some adventures on board next time , finally so pleased for mako making a recovery and being his ole self again . take care ❤ Paul🇬🇧
So very happy that Mako is doing better. Thank you for the season of adventures, Now looking forward to the work on the boat and for the Pacific adventure starts. Stay safe and as always ❤
Relief that Mako made a quick recovery from the effects of that injection….but then to miss a jump and end up in mucky water!! Oh boy but at least he’s not too unused to an occasional salt water dip so he seemed to have got over that escapade ok too. Hope the boat works go well while you’re hauled out.
Wow, you are really planning to do a pacific crossing solo? You are amazing and a real sailoress. How can you sleep? Wish you the best and looking forward to that episodes. Of all the people that do a cross you win for beauty.
Glad the captain is good. Made me a bit nervous when he went in the water. The Pacific? Guess I missed that announcement. That’s exciting. I have always wanted to visit the South Pacific. Stay safe sister….
I love your content Lauren, you are amazing to do it all single handed !!! I am also sub'ed to all of your friend channels... I am a single biker kind of guy, I sail on land and I have owned a few ski boats never a sail boat you never know though... Stay safe and I will see you in your next video... From Southwest, Ohio...
Hey Lauren I was thinking 🤔 how would cockroaches get on the boat? I'm puzzled...must have been from items taken on the boat...just bomb the cabin... surprisingly the haul looks 👍 and mako is turning into a 🦈.
Exciting times. I'm sure that the Pacific is going to be both thrilling and terrifying in equal measure and now is definitely the time to get everything ship shape cos out there help is in short supply. But first you have the even scarier passage through the Panama Canal. Having watched Parlay going back and forth endlessly through there on a significantly bigger boat with a full crew, you are going to think you will get squished by the ocean going ships in there with you but what an experience that mere landlubbers can never experience. Enjoy!
I hope Mako is better.... judging by what happened ... the immunization probably damaged his liver a little... you might look into supplements for liver damage/cirrhosis for cats !!! The vet can probably check Mako's liver and if needed give corticosteroids. God bless you both !!!
That was fun seeing Sierra & Billy (great folks) at your place looked like a fun time. Really bummed about kitty reacting to the vaccine like that🤮 poor guy😻 God bless you both & be safe
Hey Lauren, When Mako fell in I almost jumped in behind him! lol I’m usually pretty steady with the nerves, but the sound of your voice calling him scared me. I’m glad all is well! I watch your videos from Virginia Beach and I enjoy your content a lot. Thanks for sharing! Jim Grigsby
So close to making that jump Mako, one back leg slipped on take off and the body correction in flight led to landing short. Engaged claw mode to no avail on the concrete! 😅
Hope your able to train Mako to go to the ladder...might take a few repetitions in a row. How is that decking you installed way back working out? Still holding out? Stay safe...🌻
Lauren, love your videos. 2 suggestions. I find your snubber arrangement a little too complicated. I had an ugly experience on south side of PSV. A charter cat dragged its anchor during a squall and fouled my anchor chain. We were able to release our snubber and fall back and gave room for the cat to move away. If we had your system not only would there have been damage but the person releasing the snubber might have been hurt. Secondly, roaches can be a problem especially if you bring grocery boxes on board. There are companies in Grenada who regularly deal with the problem in houses ashore. I’ve used them here in Trinidad on my boat. Most efficient and effective. Strongly recommend. Happy sailing
Gawd Lauren - He's a dummy sometimes. Gonna have to keep an eye on that rebel cat!!! Geez! Wasn't expecting that!!!! Happy for you havin a hot shower and air 👍
Glad Mako is okay but I was ROLLING when he came out all wet and pouty 😂 Also if the guys going on a roach hunt as a game it is what we do 😂 Great video!
"Do you have spray, woman!?!". That tone would have been a fast way to walking the plank at one time in the past. But the cockroach hunt was very comical to see. I wouldn't be surprised if a good haulage of insect repellent is added to the list of items to stow away at the ship once it hits the water again. How is the repair of your main sail and mast going? I didn't hear you talk about it in the list of things to do.
Another good vid. As a point of reference, is thus video pre or post hurricane B? I thought this area was hit hard and boats on the hard suffered a lot of damage.
Brian from Delos has a theory about roaches he says their eggs are in the glue on some canned goods so when they stock up they pull off all the labels and wash the glue off the cans..))
Way back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth and I had my boat, I always hauled out once a year. Nothing else a good bottom cleaning and zinc inspection. One day I'll see you on the water, good lord willing.
That looked to be a pretty clean Hull on haul out.. Good paint? Or done recently/mainted at sea? Only recently started following, after a shout out from the Evans team...is this it for the season or more to come? 😁👍🏽
LOLOL What is it with see going cats and water 2de one i've seen jumping into the water.....LOLOL But im glad he is ok!!! The boat looks in good condition if i may say so. Are you getting a hard top bimini? Great channel can't wait for your next one !!!
LMNT is the subject of a big kerfuffle right now. Apparently they also contain 400mg. of Maltodextrose, while they claim it is 40mg. But they don't list this ingredient at all on their labels, and regulated food companies are required to list it, because some people have reactions to it.
hey Lauren quick question I have lifted boats up to 55' for years I haul on a lift system big dock goes underwater put on cradle etc. Putting the weight of the boat on the keel then block it. does the straps ever make your windows leak from the pressure the straps put on the side of your hull.
Guess you don't reply or comment on viewers comments anymore but maybe you at least read them. Having owned a number of boats for more years then your age, 1. While you're both off the boat; get her fumigated; I frankly don't understand how you can live on her knowing she's got that roach infestation. 2. Unless they have a paint like Micron 44 that became illegal in the US; all bottom paints suck so you should be hauling ANNUALLY. Been using Micron CSC for several years. Mid cost ablative and after 12 months in crappy Pompano Bch, Fl. waters bottom still free of growth.
Cockroach solution! Mix borasic acid (powder from pharmacy) with condensed milk to a paste. Make small balls and put in corners of cupboards and drawers. All roaches will be gone within a few weeks. Hope that helps, good luck!

you should sail in Aegean sea from island to and island !!!!
For some reason I love watching videos with boat yard work. Bet it's not as much fun doing it though 😀
I'm glad Mako is feeling better. Nice jump, too! Hope everything goes as planned . STAY SAFE AND HAVE FUN. DON'T WORK TO HARD
Good to see you getting more experienced with your travels. My poor little buddy Mako was having a time but glad you nursed him back to health and plucked him out of the drink!

Mako the Olympic swimmer. Roach party, now that's a new one. Looking forward to your next post Lauren .
Nice video Lauren! I have to say I was worried about Mako and worried about you if something happened to him! I’m glad he is getting better. Lots of work ahead of you but what an awesome goal to get ready for the Pacific!
she is pacific bound. whole new adventure around the corner. sweet Lauren. be safe

Congrats on the end of season, Mako making it through this episode, haul out, getting all this work done.

Personally I would not have a boat without one. Especially if you licmve aboard and cruise so much.
Wishing the best and mako to.

Great episode! Hilariouos game night /roach kill.
Glad Mako is feeling better.
Can't wait to see what your plans are for the pacific!
Funny. I will be launching from this marina in a few weeks. Must be older footage. Which is fine. See you down there.

praying for maco
good to see Mako doing great, man that windlass is awesome i used to cringe everytime you hauled that anchor up by sheer force, enjoy the off season
Thank you Lauren 🙂
Hull looks great. Btw….LMNT has been a game changer for me.
Hey Lauren,
When Mako fell in I almost jumped in behind him! lol

That was hilarious when mako cased that jump 🤣 he didn’t seem to thrilled afterwards haha. 😆
Almost routine. Let's get black and happy sanding! 😅🌺
I hope you’re going to show some of the work you are going to do. Taking my boat out on 9 Nov.

You made some great clogs this year so I hope you have a great off season. Pull up the land sails...

That looked to be a pretty clean Hull on haul out..
Good paint?
Or done recently/mainted at sea?
Only recently started following, after a shout out from the Evans team...is this it for the season or more to come? 😁👍🏽
awesome video 😊
I can't believe hes made it this far
Poor Mako. You need to get him a life vest.
The water is much colder in the Pacific flowing down from Alaska.
Just pause it at 13:52...she's beautifull...😊
CHARLIEEEE NO! Save him from the Roaches! 🤣🤣🤣
Had to fish a kitten out of the water a few years ago, except it wasn’t my cat, and he was jumping from shore onto my boat.
Mako just wants off the boat
Mako, we're gonna have A/C for a few days, "Yeah, whatever, I don't care Lauren." - Mako
LOLOL What is it with see going cats and water 2de one i've seen jumping into the water.....LOLOL But im glad he is ok!!! The boat looks in good condition if i may say so. Are you getting a hard top bimini? Great channel can't wait for your next one !!!

Isn’t it the beginning of the sailing season for that area? I’m confused

Kinda sad seeing your beautiful boat on the hard.
It just hit me watching this video how much you and Riley Gaines favor each other. Any kinship?
Oi amor🖤🖤😭😭😭.................
I drank LMNT once and was sh**ting in my pants for 3 days.
Thanks for sharing...
She love the ocean ✅ she beautiful ✅ she have a super cool vibe ✅ 🤔!! Could i join you . 😂😂😅😅
🥰😋😄 !!!

Hi
