Watched this movie with my friends today (we're all 17). Two of us grew up with it, and were basically screaming at every new scene. The other friend who had never watched it just didn't understand the absolute blast of nostalgia we were getting.
One of the very first movies I remember ever seeing. There's something about that piano music that really encompases beginning life. Really powerfully emotional
I was born two years before this came out. It one of my earliest childhood memories. The nostalgia man, the song as the Columbia pictures comes on screen hits like a Mack truck 🥲🥲🥲🥲
Oh my gosh this movie just randomly popped in my head and I had to search it up. I had to look it up. I’m crying nostalgic, happy tears now- starting when I heard the intro song. I’m 26, but I watched this all throughout my childhood. It’s the movie that began my endless love for animals. Thank you for uploading this! Through the sniffling and tears, I told my husband we have to watch it tomorrow. He has no idea what the movie is!

Awe man. Brings me right back to jumping on a wet trampoline, cookies at grandmas, climbing the trees behind our dogs coop, and playing catch with my dad.

This song was _everything_ to me. For those in the comments section saying that the claims of severe animal abuse (and deaths) were "just rumors", and "false", and "have since been debunked", I want to point you to the notice the studio tacked onto the credits of the film. As you know, most films which involve animal actors often have a notice of discretion regarding safety...usually in the ending credits, assuring people that, *"no animals were harmed during the making of this film."* THIS film, _Milo and Otis_ has a similar notice listed in the credits, but you will immediately notice that the wording is a little ...different than the usual notices and is actually quite vague. It says: *"The animals used were filmed under strict supervision with the utmost care for their safety and well-being."* Notice how it doesn't SPECIFICALLY claim that "no animals were harmed during the making of this film"? If there were animals getting tortured and being killed and mentally abused in order to get that "perfect" and "realistic" shot (as the rumors claim), then OBVIOUSLY saying that "no animals were harmed during filming" would have been a *FALSEHOOD.* I believe the studio possibly paid off investigators. It happens. This was the 80's, long before the days of camera phones and social media. Most "rumors" you hear from the entertainment industry are birthed in FACT. Notice how everytime a rumor starts about a celebrity getting divorced or fired from a film, the celeb will *deny, deny, DENY.* ...until that one day _MONTHS_ later when they grudgingly confirm it is, infact, *TRUE.*
I seem to remember watching another movie with the same notice as this one during the end credits. *The animals used were filmed under strict supervision with the utmost care for their safety and well-being.* Unfortunately, I don't remember the title of that other film.
