I average about 35 minutes per battery on my Green Machine. 20 minutes if I wait more than 7 days between mows. Flat Florida lawn ~3/4 of an acre. I usually cut on the 2nd lowest setting. Ended up buying a 3rd battery and 2nd charger to keep the mowing going. Great Video.
If they all came with two batteries as a standard I think they’d sell more of them. But i was told they are coming out with an 8 and 12 amp battery 🔋 😀
I switched all my lawn care gas machines over to the EGO brand battery system the day I threw my two stroke string trimmer across the driveway because it would not restart after I had to restring it and I’ve never looked back. I have four pieces of equipment and three batteries, a mower that came with a 9.5ma battery that last FOREVER, a blower that came with a 2.5ma battery, a string trimmer and an edger that came with 5ma battery. The battery systems are where it’s at, I will never go back to having to deal with all the extra maintenance of the gas engine lawn equipment.
Best informational video. Well thought out and professional done with many of my questions and thoughts answered in video. I see the benefits of a battery powered lawnmower than before. This video will help many people. Happy Sabbath.
Great content, but until these drop into the $250 range after Summer sales with two batteries I just dont see the practicality. Now if I see a Black Friday deal for 2 batteries and a charger for $149.99 I may change my mind. I like a gas mower and the ability to wash it off when I am done mowing. I dont want grass clippings from a dirty mower in my shop. Only great advantage I see for these units is the ability to hang it on the wall once the season is over. But I can do that as well if I remove the Oil and gas which I typically do each year. Hopefully in 5 years these things will make some great advancements but rarely does something constructed out of plastic last after 5 years. Just because you have a warranty doesnt mean you arent gonna have to jump through hopes to get something replaced. The knowledge in these videos is unquestionable. Keep em coming. Happy Mothers Day all
Yeah I don’t think you’ll see those type of deals on the quality mowers. Those deals will be on the mowers that people complain about not being able to do the Job. The gas ⛽️ push with no self propelled are going for 260 now and we know that’s a cardinal sin lol 😆
I agree with your comment about the price issue, however, being able to wash it off isn’t a big deal, I do that with my EGO mower after each use and then blow it off, then it’s clean and dried. As per battery count issue just buy a bare tool and then buy a higher milliamp battery, rather than a 4 get a 6 or a 9 and then buy a rapid charger. All that said EGO now puts together a mower package with up to a 10ma battery. As per life expectancy, only time will tell. As for my mower, string trimmer and blower I’m on three years now with no problems (knock on plastic) and as for maintenance there is virtually nothing except sharpening the mower blade and adding string to the trimmer. You’re correct though these machines probably do get over looked a lot because of the price.
It’s growing on me plus you gotta actually use the mower for great reviews. Some channels get the freebie and only use it once to make a video. I use mine all season in heavy rotation. When I put that BYD approved seal on it, you can buy with confidence.

Update: I got a greenworks self propelled with the 25% discount. I should have listened to you the first time! Self propelled is awesome. At least I have the other GW as a good back up/relief pitcher!
I changed to all battery, but my issue is the cost percentage of just buying a new battery only. I find myself buying a different brand/voltage tool and battery instead of just buying a tool or battery to match what I already have. There is no cost incentive to stay in the same family.
Byd I feel your pain man have those people is just stubborn no matter what kind of proof you give them they're going to stick that gas lawn mower they might have to pull out of the cold dead battery mowers on the new future gas prices at $5 a gallon you going to pay $5 a gallon and put it in your lawn mower not me .😆

Ryobi/Home Depot just jacked their prices up astronomically to 799.00 from 549.00!😡 That makes the value for this much better. Appreciate your time and review! PS: has anybody ever told you that you look like “Big Papi” with your shades on…💪😎😅
I like the detail you put into the video. Hey what does the battery lawn mower sound like? My Toro is 22 years old with oil changes and getting blades sharpened every 2 years. Only used at home. I would have to know the battery lawn mower can last at least 15 years to change. Mine is still working.
I don’t think many people got notifications. As big of a controversy this video is. Thoroughly done ✅ and 50k Subscribers and UA-cam notifies 55 people.?
My take away from this video, you need at least two batteries to swap out and charge one while using the other. And it’s probably better to get good utilization of those batteries and tools is to get multiple tools which support using the same batteries. For heavy use like lawn mowers, I suspect your better off using the 5 to 8 amp batteries to get longer run times, but if your using the hand tools, the 3 to 5 amp batteries are probably a better choice to save weight.
In my experience the issue with any battery system is longevity and there are a lot of variables. I've had some issues with batteries going dead over the winter - whether plugged in or not. Hopefully the manufacturers will keep improving charging tech and up those battery warranties, but these won't ever last 10+ years unless they quadruple the price. I do like the Green Machine for home use, it seems like a good balance of simplicity and capability. BYD you need to get your hands on that $1000 monster from Milwaukee and test it on the commercial side.
Yeah I’ve reach out to them 3 times and they won’t even send me a Dear John letter. Can’t even find them at any of my local stores either. Most definitely not paying at grand for it. Lol 😆
…post review question, How well does this actually mulch clippings? As mentioned before, I was looking at the dual blade Cross-cut Ryobi. The price point is ridiculous now and I could purchase two of these for their price!😤 I know 2 blades mulch better…into fine clippings and that is what I mostly use & need. It appears that this Single blade design is unique, and I don’t know how well it actually cuts & mulches…aside from seasonal occasional leaf and debris pick up, other users Have commented that it is not great at vacuuming, but I believe that if you lower the height setting, Most mowers will vacuum/bag better. Lastly, how well do the LED lights illuminate. I do occasionally mow at dusk to prevent grass scorching as expected with daytime cutting in this wicked summer sun. I like the fact that you can turn the lights on and off, unlike the Ryobi which stays on continuously. Several videos on the Ryobi, looks like a floodlight for a drug raid at night!😳 (I don’t require that much😂) Appreciate your feedback!😎
One reason I don’t want a battery powered mower is because I don’t have time to keep charging batteries. I work long hours and when I do have the time to mow I don’t want to rely on a battery. So that’s why I prefer gas powered. One more thing California is a dumpster fire the politicians they have keep ruining that state.
