Thom Yorke here 2:23 Fun fact: almost 2 years after this, Radiohead released the album ''In Rainbows''... you can definitely notice how much Frusciante influenced the guitar parts, Thom even mentions it in interviews. It's nice to see this cool connection between bands.
In 2009 Thom also united with Flea in Atoms for Peace - they recorded and toured together, and made a song for Motherless Brooklyn movie. Music will always find a way:-)
Such a fucking sick rig. A lot of it was that many of his pedals were preposterously enormous, and that he wanted to recreate the modular synth sounds and rack effect sounds that they got on Stadium Arcadium.
there's at least 8 different sounds on guitar for this song. 2 channels, 8 presets or combos = approx 16-20 pedals if not done in specific presets programming for the gig.
..f*ck!..the emotional intensity of John’s solos reaches a place inhabited by the immortal Strat gods Jimi, Tommy Bolin, Rory Gallagher and others..praying that he stays healthy more than anything..stay safe and stay strong..New York October 19, 2021..
Funk, hip hop and good ol rock and roll, the perfect ingredients that makes the chilli peppers the pure perfection that they are. They will stand the pace of time for ever and beyond. Pure perfection 🤘
Respect all the band. These guys are funcking awesome!!! Dani California is the song that you cant stop to listening. Have a lot of effects and differents parts.
This solo being unique is what gets me... they get to the UK and are on primetime television and John basically reverses the pitch of the same solo and then finishes it with the familiar shred. After years of having the original solo burned into my brain, this is like a sip of ice water.
@@AntConHer Yeah, man actually for me I can't really name the best version of their performance:D John plays different solos every time. I've watched all their videos with John. check also Dani California live at the Brit Awards 2007, sick solo.
Even in a tv show they're clearly live and not playback, re-arranging and re-improvising solos as they would do in a normal gig, how not to love those living legends? 🎸red hots ftw🌶🌶🌶🌶
Essa formação é perfeita. Os caras se completam. Uma das maiores bandas de todos os tempos. Acompanho esses caras desde a minha adolescência. Vai ser muito estranho quando a banda acabar.
I was 15 when I seen them in Santa Cruz Ca. My friends band Fungo Mungo opened up for them in 1990 at the Omni in Berkeley Ca. I’ve seen them 10 times I’m 54. They are the only band that worth watching these days. I feel time has gone buy to fast.
Always funny to see Thom jamming to the Peppers when his hipster fans typically hate the band (for no other reason than them thinking that's an interesting personality trait)
It's the worst thing about a lot of bands, Radiohead superfans are usually sneary know it all types. Same with Oasis fans, mostly stupid jacket wearing oafs with no musical knowledge before 1994 or past 1997. It doesn't detract from how good these bands all are. As always fuck the fans.

That's hilarious, he is really jamming along
100%! In Rainbows was released even less than a year after this performance.
Fantastically fun fact -- huge love for both bands! Thanks Lusio.

3:14 -How many pedals you need for this gig John?
John - yes.
hahahahah
Such a fucking sick rig. A lot of it was that many of his pedals were preposterously enormous, and that he wanted to recreate the modular synth sounds and rack effect sounds that they got on Stadium Arcadium.

looks like hes got one of everything.....LoL.

He’s flying on that Stratocaster
The squier gods!
John's appearance is like the beginning of the band. younger
@Fantomas646 how?
@Fantomas646 they mean in the BSSM era, which is true
I love how John dances between the notes. Kind of a flavor he puts in his playing as well.
Me too always
I love playing this on guitar, it’s definitely an instant classic
For something so dayumn powerful - And something by the chili's - even a tool like me can play it. Feels amazing to play.
Good call.MH
John's Solo is so powerful that even the camera started to glitch. Also the whole video is in an amazing quality, thanks for sharing!

Jhon’s guitar sounds so attractive
I thought I couldn't see it anymore, but he came back!! Please come to Fuji Rock again!!!
I feel crazy that practically every one of John’s guitar solos bring a tear to my eye. I love RHCP!

John's solos are so good they cause the *listener* to make guitar faces
His solo's aren't that bad mate
What a great performance. Never seen this till now..!
That guitar solo...pure 🔥
Not a single band comes even close to these 90s to 2000s bands.. The hell went wrong with music now

Amazingly good. Just wow. John really is right up there with the best of them.

2:24 Best moments
Drumming and guitar at the same time 😂
Playing great looking great. Peak RHCP moment right there.
Absolute world class musicians. Deepest respect for this band and their legacy!
And they sound so amazingly awesome!
14 years later, they still jam together...
Love this track. Top rock band of recent decades.
We can always count on John to take something good and make it so much more funky and intense!
that wasn't funky dude, that is Jimi Hendrix's spirit taking over Frusciante's body.
John is the heart and soul of RHCP
John es talento puro!!!
3:16 My fuken god...
SO MUCH BETTER WITH JOHN !
Essa formação é perfeita. Os caras se completam. Uma das maiores bandas de todos os tempos. Acompanho esses caras desde a minha adolescência. Vai ser muito estranho quando a banda acabar.
não vai acabar
Just saw them in Seattle 5 days ago and they're as good as ever.
Thank you, great performance!!!
Eu te entendo Thom, como resistir ao som desses caras a toda potência e ao vivo?
Frusicante is a god
yes hello
Right
Jesus Christ himself in the flesh and blood.
That must make you a fool.
John Frusciante is a musician.
Musicians play with God's energies.
Frusciante
What a treasure
Frusicante ,No doubt
2006 performance, 2021 quality
Best guitarrist
thank you so much man for uploading this 🙏
Great performance. Loved the way the camera cut to Thom Yorke rocking out!
Still can’t believe this album came out the year I was born, that fact makes me feel like I have some sort of insane power
john is very handsome

John Anthony Frusciante and Chad Smith are absolute madmen during that solo! What just happened?!
Hermoso
Red Hott hott Chili peppppers….really who can top them…John is the man
the ab lib at the end with chad drums following Johns playing is what music is all about. music not by number but how it feels.
I loved this song the moment I heard it.
my favorite quartet .
John tremendo!! estaba prendido fuego ese muchacho!!!

Holy shit!!!!!! Wish I was there
They'll rock 4ever! 👍👍👍👍
Oh my Gadh! John!!!!!
What a sound!!!!
Seeing this video I have the impression that I'm back in the 90s.
It seems that these guys don't get old.
OMG John's pedalboard 😍😍😍😍
Being a bassplayer myself i'm always only ever watching Chad pounding the drums!
Will Ferrell on drums cracks me up everytime
Wow!
First time I saw these guys I was 26 ! Now we are almost 60 !! Where did the time go ! Going to see them next summer ! Can't wait !!! 🤘🤙🤘🤙🤘🎙🎸🥁

Lucky !
Sometimes I think RHCP just wouldn't sound the same without Flea jumping around and head banging to the rhythm of the bandmates
He is the absolute groove machine, that's outstanding.
The best always have been my favourite
That at the end how Chad Smith improvised is what makes him a damn good drummer.
john is back now😘
good seeing Thom enjoying himself here
Always great to see Will Farrell on the drums.
Wow nice work
April 1st it's going to be very special day for all of us ♥️♥️♥️
Jhon solo sensacional
damn how could I took 16 YEARS to find this version? I love when a band sounds mad, dangerous ❤
JOHN ❤

I feel like the peppers have the hipster fan base
@@Jacob-hm1th They mostly have over obsessive Frusciante fan boys and fan girls lol
