I guess we can all be very happy to witness this FREAKING AMAZING band.
Their longevity and loyalty to their music is awesome.
Not only am I happy to see/hear John back in the band...but can we discuss how healthy he looks too? Seriously, I haven't seen him this healthy since he first joined the band back in 1988. He also looks way more focused. MAD respect to him.

First song I learned that transitioned me from beginner to intermediate. Really opens up the whole neck. Every guitarist should learn it

The triumphant return of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers is a breath of youthful freshness in our souls, which takes us back to the glorious '80s and '90s. And that brings tears to my eyes. It's great that the RHCP has returned in full force.
If only we could go back to that time…
They're almost 60 and they got the same energy that they had the time that song was released. Their new record was awesome, long life to RHCP.
They’re older now than when The Rolling Stones we’re touring in the 90’s and I remember thinking they had really slowed down at that point. RHCP are still playing with the same amount of energy they had when BSSM came out.

Man, I can't believe how much magic lies in THOSE 4 guys. They sound killer together, to this day, This is a perfect example of what happens when chemistry is perfectly matched in music. Wow.
This guitar riff or whatever is soul searching. It passes through you and leaves toffee where you had stone.
Oh man, that’s good. Love how light, almost vulnerable Kiedis sounds in the beginning, but really grows in strength into the song, as they all do. The outtro with Flea and John is also hauntingly beautiful here. Beautiful.

I know when Josh was with them they did an unplugged show. I remember them playing Under the Bridge and By the Way. I couldn't tell you what other songs though because it was so long ago

It’s all about the extraordinary vibe of these 4 mates together and how well John, Flea and Chad got his back instrumentally. All respects to Josh, he is amazing; but there is nothing like experiencing the original chilli peppers vibe again!!

I love that John starts the song at a slower tempo and then when Chad joins he starts in at a faster BPM in classic drummer fashion and John just smirks. I love their band quirks so much

I just love how even a pro band can mess up their tempo when they start in free time...even on a song they've played hundreds of times. It happens to everyone! At least they obviously aren't using a click.

That's so perfect! I literally begin to tremble and vibrate when I hear great bands. No band moves me like RHCP. I just spoke to a friend I grew up with, told her I got RHCP symbol tattoo and got my tickets. She said, YOU'VE LOVED THEM FOREVER!! I was known for being a fanatic maniac. Thank you Howard! That part when Flea slides down to those two low notes at 4:15 - BOM. BOM. Gives me chills. Perfect phrasing.
I simply love that jam at the end between John and Flea for two reasons: 1. They're finally playing together again and 2. Flea has studied music theory in the meantime and now sounds even better with John, who is a music theory geek himself. We got our boys back, and they've undergone an upgrade.

@@ashwinmenon7636 that's true, but his reasons might still be true.. it is not a jam and anymore than on the record, so in this case, they prob. just relistened their own material, playing it more to spec than ever lol... I do think so far that their new stuff has some kind of advanced melodic/harmonic features to it, but that doesn'T mean automatically that the songs are better in general... still pretty poppy too...
