I got the attention of a street performer once while at Disney. Me and my family would get the coach to and from the parks and at one point there was a guy who was either singing Disney songs or asking trivia questions on a mic and one questions or the song he was singing (he would sometimes part way though) had something to do with Jessie from toy story and was the only one to responded to him.
(mostly because she’s my favourite toy story character and mostly because i’m a big Disney fan and my Nan had some Disney CDs I would listen to when at her house). My mom was pretty impressed with it.

I’m reminded of the time my dad took my friends and I to an anime convention. Dad had left me to hold a line (I forget what it was for) while my friends had scattered to look at some other stuff of interest to them (I remember being ok with this). Dad I think was just supposed to find a restroom and return. Problem is, he found an impromptu “sword fighting” tournament. Not with real swords mind you. Just fake ones, essentially just sticks that are practice swords. A whole group of conventioneers had set up this impromptu tournament and more and more people kept joining. This interested my dad who joined in. Now, for context here, dad at this time has a cane and a limp, but he is also a skilled martial artist who’s favorite weapon and one he is best with is a bo staff. He also was someone who got into some street fights as a youth (his oldest of his younger siblings was very popular and dad was super protective and got into fights with the boyfriends of the girls who said they had crushes on his brother and this…escalated). No one knew this except me and my friends. So to everyone else there is this older guy with a cane walking up asking to join. Of course they say yes, not just because con social behavior dictates you being inclusive and welcoming but also because he seemed an easy mark. Well, I’m sure some of you guessed already what happened. Dad kept beating his opponents round after round (safely, not harmfully, and within the agreed on “rules”) until finally they put him up against three people at the same time. By this time dad has probably gone 6-7 rounds, is getting tired, and is realizing how long he left me alone in line. So he beats these last three opponents and walks away. Someone, before he leaves, asks him if he was a plant. Dad has a good laugh about that, says no but he knows martial arts and returns. He does tell me about this but I actually get more information of what happened from my friends who had wandered by because dad only really told me he joined a tournament and that some asked if he was a plant. Seriously though, my dad is ridiculous and I adore him, but I can not leave him alone to wander sometimes. 😂😅

When I was little I went to Disney World. I only went once. I vaguely remember it... I was like 6-7 years old. I remember always being that one child that street performers would ALWAYS be wanting to join in on them on their shenanigans. I was just that adorable, happy looking little girl who always had a big smile on her face watching them pull off their acts. But I don’t remember much of that since I was so little... Wish I can return soon as my older, blander looking self now that I am currently 18 years old...
