Remember not only did Bradley "kill" Greed. Bradley killed all of Greed's friends (except Bido).
Greed wasn't actually fighting against Father. He was just doing his own thing.
*Ling:* You turned your back on something you wanted! You don't _deserve_ to call yourself Greed!
*Me:* 😨 _Emotional Damage!_
@@omargoodman2999 Steven's dad: *grabs a slipper* EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!
True!
He still mistaken if the frase “ wrath killed greed many times before” he is thinking that he fought a lot of times and was killed, but was only the time in the devil nest. They literally said in the scene that was the first time they met. The phrase that wrath said about killing him a lot of times already was about the philosophy stone being running out, because he was being “killed” a lot there
44 episodes in, and he still hasn't given up on breaking the alchemist taboo.
Let the woman rest man!!😅😅😅
Hahahahah trueeeee. GOT Games is walking away with the wrong lessons
@@ishaan863 Going to make a certain blooper even more hilarious than usual.
😂😂
The last scene with greed. It became one of my favorite after everything, it's show's deep down what greed really wanted.
It was such a good ending!!
my fav anime scene of all time
And it also says what the dwarf wanted as well, but denied to himself just as greed did.
Love those finger guns. The blonde chimera Heinkel is the goat and pulls his weight several times for team Elric before the story is over. You can tell who is currently in control of Lings body by the hair and the eyes for future reference
There is nothing better than a flashy car to keep hidden. You'd never suspect a multicolor eye sore like that to be hiding anything or anyone. It stands out too much to stand out. Has an aura of "definitely not what I'm looking for" about it.
Now that it's confirmed that all of Kimbley's chimera do a heel-face turn, I just wanna say I love all four of them and while they aren't my favorite characters, I love the whole crew the Elric brothers are bringing together.
Also, the manga panel where Darius and Heinkel "hold Ed hostage" is incredibly funny to me.
Heinkel doing Finger Guns while Darius has the Gun on a Blank Staring Ed is always Funny.
💯💯
You, seeing Bido last episode: "That's kinda random." And there's me already crying because I know how he ends up 😭
Also! You should *watch the whole ending of the next episode* because it's not a normal ending, it's actually part of the episode itself! (If I remember correctly😅)
GOT regarding the chimera: They're those characters that turn up to die!
Also GOT: Why is Bido here?
I forgot that Bido's scene was this episode.
@@vlnavi Ha good point, he predicted a chimera death and he got one very soon after!
@@Potkanka Haha! I forgot Bido's a chimera!!! Right assumption, wrong chimera... for now? ;)
@@vlnavi Yep, no spoilers :D
@@Potkanka Lips sealed!
Ed and Al dont want to use stones anymore since they contain captive souls, thats why they looked into alkyhestry
The Ling/Greed dynamic is next level Ling literally tells the embodiment of Greed youre not greedy enough also the thing with Greed is that even of he didnt get his memories back hes too much of a free spirit to be on a leash so this would inevitably happen
A funny scene that was cut for the anime here - Bido originally ran into the chimeras (the ones that gatekeep the tunnels under Central that Scar and May had to fight before they first encountered Father) and instead of attacking him, they thought of him as one of their own (since he's a chimera too) and just left him.
I was wondering about the tunnel defences ah 😂
Al is just literally one of the best boys in all of anime. There's Kuwabara, and there's Al.
Kazuma Kuwabara from YYH? That boy doesn't get enough love!
@@keyblademasterclarkyou… just responded to your own comment bro. Either you forgot to switch accounts or you have Alzheimers
@@dogmuncher_69 No, the original commenter isn't me. We just have similar names.
@@dogmuncher_69 lol u drunk?
(Not a spoiler) Small confirmation on being able to bring Ed and Al's mom back. It's legitimately impossible. The dead cannot be brought back to life under any circumstance. Ed even mentions this after digging up the grave of the thing they transmuted. Ed didn't bring Al back to life because Al didn't "die". Ed simply bound Al's soul to a suit of armour.
*THE DEAD CAN'T COME BACK TO LIFE!* Ed said as much to Ling when they were inside Gluttoney. Also, the brothers would never use a stone to get their bodies back because now they know how the stones are created. Al said as much to Winry back at Briggs.
Yup, came down here to comment the same thing. The dead cannot be brought back, period.
@@MeatSim9 it's one of the things I love about FMA. So many shows find ways of bringing the dead back to life but here? Dead is dead. No dragonballs or alternate universes to bring them back
I don't feel like the all-caps was exactly necessary, but yeah.
@@BlastMagicianYGO I used all caps because this isn't the first time he's brought up them trying to bring their mother back and I'm trying to drill it into his head that dead is dead in this world.
Yep. Ed also deduced that when digging up the grave of the body that him and Al transmuted
*THE DEAD CAN NOT BE BROUGHT BACK*
That was what Hohenheim said to Ed
Ed said that to Ling
They don’t even want to bring their mother back (anymore)
Starting episode: "Why does Bido exist? He is unimportant, and serves no purpose!"
End of Episode: *Can't look away*
Roses talk about the town is good to keep in mind, its very relevant to the ultimate message of the show, "the answer" if you will. Her story is a lot darker in the original FMA, and part of me prefers that, but I can't deny that how it's done in brotherhood fits better with the message the show is trying to convey.
20:14 no, reviving a long dead person is still impossible, even with the philosopher stone. Without the soul of the person you want to revive. You can only create a replica of a corpse.
Fair enough
LingGreed is one of, if not THE character that i love the most. This sukuna-Yuuji situation was also brilliant to me, combining 2 seemingly similar characters who just wanna do their own thing and arent interested at all with the big schemes etc. Greed just wanted his freedom to do his own thing and pursue his own desires, Ling just wanted immortality as per his own desire on top of his country's. They make a good duo. And they just want to kick some ass, the bad guys' ass who take what they want/love away from them.
Dead = Dead. There is no possibility of being "brought back" in this series. There is no afterlife repository where souls are maintained and can just be plucked back to be returned to life. Ed and Al learned the hard way that resurrection simply can't work - which is why their only goal is to get their bodies back, not to repeat the mistake that cost them in the first place.
Their mother can’t be brought back because her soul has already passed on. Als soul was transmutable because it hadn’t passed through the door to the after life yet, but their mother has passed on long before
Somewhere in the world Ed heard you say he's short and is now on his way to knock you out.
😂😂😂
Don't forget! After FMA is finished, look at the FMA Bloopers - 7 minute video of the voice actors goofing around
"The stuff that this town went through is unbelievable"
Local history is a whole other ballpark compared to world history. So much that you don't realize that happened right next door. It's one of my favorite things to look into for trivia. It's nothing that'll ever be taught at schools, but it's always worth looking into.
That last scene, that's why they brought back Bido. I'm glad i could answer your question.
(23:10) There’s no part of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood that’s random! Everything’s part of the greater narrative! :)
Oh 💯 Greed remembered, not only that Wrath has killed him before but that he killed his other Friends, and he’s lost in sorrow because he killed his own friend a Bido 😢💔.
Loved Ed’s entrance 😅 he’s always so dramatic when called short 😂. And now you’ve heard it too, The Day of Reckoning… shit is about to hit the fan. Only a few more pieces left to get in position before the day of reckoning is upon us.
Also, I saw a comment about this not too long ago, but do watch the openings and endings again, they hit different when you know what’s going on with the story and they highlight a lot of the characters dynamics and main struggles. The ending you’re on now is one of my favorites and it connects beautifully with the next opening.
OMG dude Vinland is incredible.
I'm glad you've watched attack on titan AND fma brotherhood because I can share with you something I said years ago.
If you remember att the end of season 2 of attack on titan, there is a post credit scene where you see zeke on the back of the beast titan and he says some ominous stuff. Blonde hair, beard, glasses. The first thing I said was "OH SHIT! Hohenheim of light has gone off the deep end!"
I just thought they looked so similar and thought you might have a chuckle
Just let their mom rest in peace man😂 Edward confirmed about no point in bringing back the dead in Ep. 20 or sth
Man this is one of my absolute Favorite Episodes, this Scenes with Greed, Bido and Ling are just Awesome, Lings Speech to Greed is Epic and i always get Goosebumps when i hear and see it.
Oh and Fun Fact: In The Manga Hohenheim was suprised to see his old Armor run around and Talk, he didnt know it was Al, the Panel was really funny to read XD
Most everyone in one way or another initially has a negative perspective on Ling, he's just the goofy, aloof side character. The characterization that turns him into the one that sets a literal monster on a path of self actualization and redemption is just on another level, and the author does it without contradicting or sacrificing ANY of Ling's established characteristics
THAT ENDING SCENE BETWEEN GREED AND LING IS SO GOOD
*THE DEAD CAN'T BE BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE*
no matter how many philosopher stones you use..
they stated it many times..
the thing they brought back wasn’t even their mother
"I'm missing my boy Ling" and then he appears
usually anime take their sweet time too show any real development in the characters (in both body and mind) regardless of much time must has or must have passed in the series.
In that regard FMA Brotherhood is actually quite refreshing to watch as it basically uses subtle changes in the behaviour and especially appearance of its main characters to show that time has actually passed. They develop rather fast but you wouldnt really notice otherwise, except by paying attention to some dates
The dead are dead. There is no way to pull a soul back once it's left the world of the living. Ed and AL, however, could definitely use Hoenhime to restore their bodies.
i finished full metal alchemist brotherhood 9 years ago..
and to this day i'm sad that it ended..
And that is why Bido was brought back :D
5:03 I think in a sense, it’s kind of the same effect of when parents start freaking out about when their kids start dating or getting into relationships. For most, they think, “my kids are too young to start dating” when in all actuality, they started dating at the same age as their parents. It’s the effect as the parents still see their kids as little kids instead of the teenagers that they are.
“they are mine. Everything is mine. No one takes what is mine” the truest of greed attitudes.
Pretty much everyone who watches this agrees the chimera's are lowkey mvps.
Remember back to the first time in Liore. "People don't come back from the dead, Rose, not ever."
The brothers have pretty much given up on using the stone to get their bodies back. It's the whole reason they were looking for May, so that they could learn about alkahestry as an alternative.
fucking hell i forgot how incredible Ling's speech was in this ep
I think the reaction of Ed and AL to theri father is very interesting. Ed felt abandoned and decided to channel that hurt into resentemnt and not caring for his father. Al, on the other hand, never really stopped wanting their Dad to come back. I do also like that, while Al clearly harbors not half as much ill will towards Hohenheim as Ed does, he never tells Ed off for Badmouthing him. Al _is_ aware that what Hohenheim did wasn't good and even if _he_ does not resent their Father, he cannot fault Ed for feeling differetly.
Al barely remembers hohenheim. Part of the reason he holds no resentment is that he never really connected to him enough to feel betrayed
Please, let's write many many comments adviceing him on watching next episode's ending since it's part of the episode itself
Greeling is my absolute FAVOURITE character XD
Can't bring the dead back to life. Remember, Ed has resolved himself to the fact that death is permanent so his mission is now solely to get him and his brother's bodies back to normal. However, they will not use a philosopher stone for it. Think back to the discussion in the prison at Briggs. Al told Winry that Ed would never use a philosopher stone now that they know they were made using living people. That option is now off the table as far as the brothers are concerned. Edward struggled enough as it was to use the single soul Envy offered up to fuel the transmutation that got them out of Gluttony. The two brothers are very much on the path of not killing anyone or letting anyone else suffer in their pursuit to get their bodies back. Basically, no shortcuts for their own benefit, because that is not equivalent exchange. They've learned their lesson about trying to cheat the flow of nature.
Al was so young he doesn’t have the same anger Ed does for their father leaving.
GOD I love Ling-Greed story line! Two of the best characters from this story! And the ending of their story is so beautiful~
Ling and greed can both hold their own against Bradley for awhile but neither could win on their own. If they were separate and both attacking him at the same time they could probably defeat him. Greeling has a lot of potential and advantages but it's debatable whether or not he could win. Right now greed is super heavily conflicted, all these memories are flooding back to him good times with friends and watching Bradley kill them all. Confronting Bradley about this situation is maybe not the best decision, but greed wants answers and Bradley is responsible.
Oh man, all i hear when the restaurant owner is talking is NPCs from Skyrim
I always find it interesting the difference between the brothers feelings toward their father. Al automatically gives him the benefit of doubt, he is so forgiving. Ed is not so much, he seemed to notice more and internalize at an early age, the pain their mother hid behind her smile because her husband left.
5:03 it's okay to see them like that man. that just means you see them as a person, as who they are, and not as stereotypes of the bodies they were born with. and to see people as people, as a living breathing individual with dreams and loved ones and emotions, not just a woman or a man or an lgbt+, now that's a beautiful thing.
I wouldn't count Gree-Ling out too soon.
Cant wait for Overlord.
They brought back Bido for that epic line by Ling. If that was the only reason Bido came back, I'd be happy, but then the tease of a Bradley/Greed rematch? Let's go!!
about Winry, it's completely normal to feel this way, just by knowing her as a child and watching her grow throughout the show, you know that she is now a beautiful woman (although she is only 16 now), but for you she will always be a girl, and I think which is the way we all see her. It's like watching your daughter grow up, or a sister.
And the same thing happens with Ed and Al.
Man, that Greed-Ling scene, uff it's one of the best 💔
The old version, FA 2003 has bath fan service scene of Ed too. XDDDDD
@@ablekwok9130 I dont remember that 😅
It has been soo long but I vaguely remember a terrible image in the first FMA anime, they did an experiment regarding Rose boyfriend. It was a cursed image along the heights of the Nina situation.
0:00 to 3:14 that how i feel every time a digimon and a pokemon throw there life away FOR US HUMANS😭
I love Ed's hair down so much!!😍😍😍
Greed is such a magnificent character.
Al biggest strenght it's his heart, so with armor or not he would still be quite strong. 😄
I absolutely love the voice acting here!
The hospital scenes were surpringly amusing.
Yaaaassss. Happy FMAB saturday!! Haha
Another great episode!!
Some interesting points for me are:
Hohenheim and Al: I think that conversation between them was so necesary for both. When Hohenheim talked about the trust, yep, He was right. And here you see how He really feels. He knows he left his family, and he feels so guilty for that. He's not sure about what Ed and Al would feel for him, if they love him or hate him or even trust him. Is nice Al always calls him dad and trust him. It shows us Al still sees Hohenheim as his dad after all this time and considering what happened.
That comment about Trisha was a bit sad 💔
And nope, DEAD CAN'T COME BACK TO LIFE. That has been said sinse episode 1, but what's more... Do you remember the episode when Ed digs on the grave of what they transmuted to if that was his mother? He talks with Izumi after that and She said "we weren't wrong (about the transmutation) it has been always impossible" talking about they were right on how transmute a body but wrong about bringing back someone from dead, which is obviously impossible.
Edo: hahaha that was a cool way to come back in business 😎
Winry: Well Luke, you're right but in this anime you see all the character progession, when they were kids until they become adults. At this point, they're not kids anymore... And not only Winry, Ed, Al (it's not that obvious in this case but you can notice on Al's way of think) also Ling.
Ling and Greed: two cool characters. The progression in the relationship between them is great and Ling's speech is brilliant. You see?? Details like that are part of the reasons FMA is the best rated anime and for me one of the reasons I love Hiromu Arakawa's work. That woman is brilliant.🛐
Please check Brotherhood OVAS and Amalee covers when you finish the show.
Have a nice weekend and greetings 🤗😊
At this point they are still kids though, Ed, Winry and Ling are 15 or 16 (can't remember if their birthdays passed already or not) and Al is either 14 or 15 (same doubt). The character progression is there but they're not grown ups or anything of the sort.
@@laurainathunderstorm well... yes. But they're not children, that's what I tried to mean. At the end of the story Ed is 18 years old, like Winry and Ling
Btw I know what you mean when you say it's weird seeing Winry grown up like she is here. It's how I am with the kids from Stranger Things. You've watched her grown into a beautiful young woman but in your eyes she's still the young girl from Risembool.
20 episodes left.... Indeed it's been a journey.
Here's a little reminder that if you want a little extra, you can watch the Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood bloopers! It's only around 7 mins long and there's a video here in youtube for it!!
This is such a good episode! The way it ends, everything!! You picked up on that absolutely killer line "If you turned your back on what you once wanted..."
It's so good!
So I guess the Bido thing paid off didn't it.
Nah, that's just anime fatherhood kicking in
3:36 THAT, THAT ALWAYS HURTS MY SOUL
ALPHONSE JUST CALLING HIM DAD
Man I was waiting for this episode, that last scene is one of my favorite scenes in all of anime. The voice actor killed it
5:35
U sound like a father talking about their kids😂
Honestly, I'm kinda sad, too. After Attack on Titan, we went into Death Note. Which I was super excited for. And as we came up on the end of that series, I knew we were going into Brotherhood. FMA being in my top 3, I was over the moon. There was never any saddles, just excitement. But now, while everything coming down the pipeline after Brother is amazing, I'm gonna miss Ed and Al a lot more than Light, or Eren. Here's hoping we see FMA 2003 on this channel someday. But for now, let's just enjoy the ride. And damn if it's not a crazy ride from here on out.
Just wanna say, as far as seeing Winry as a "woman" goes, she's very much still a child despite what the animators seem to think and also yes, that makes sense that it would be weird to try and shift your perspective and the weird feeling is also the correct response to someone you've watched grow up. It SHOULD feel weird! You watched them grow up! They're basically a nephew or niece!
I'm glad it makes sense.
I used to find it odd with Game of Thrones even though they became adults. They still felt like the kids I started watching on GOT at the start.
The greed scene. Is my faviorate scene in this entire show. Ling and greeds interaction here is unforgettable
It was weird seeing Aria getting on 😂
The original Fullmetal alchemist anime was a *lot* darker when it came to this town specifically.
If your wondering why Greed denied his previous memories at first. It's because he felt guilty for failing to protect his his "possessions" the first time. Think about it. Greed is both immortal and has a shield that extends to his entire body. But he is unable to protect the people he actually cares for. It's his selfishness and want for individuality as a person that made him want to defect from Father. As he was just tool to him. Between his memory loss and his guilt. He emotionally felt like he had no choice but accept his role as pawn.
Plus, Greed likes to surround himself with different characters like the Chimaeras because they remind him of his former family for their unique appearances and abilities. Then his betrayal comes back to bite him in the form of his newest sibling Wrath. All of Greed goals like immortally and world domination were just emotional lies to present himself as being more confident to himself in front of others. When all he wanted was friends. Kind of like how a loner in highschool who has changed his/her look to to give themselves more confident. Which is he wore a flash outfit before posessing Ling. Deep down, Greed is just afraid of being alone.
That Winry bath scene though. Now I know what Ed meant when he said he would love to try Winry's apple pie...
bruh
See how the 2 previous episode still a good episode without the main protagonist? Its show how amazing this show are!! Same with the episode where Mustang burn Lust.
PLEQSE PLEASE PLEQSE YOU HAVE TO REACT TO THE BLOOPERS AFTER YOU FINISH!!! it spart of the experience
LMAO "Only 20 episodes left". Little do you know, they're the LONGEST 20 episodes in your life. The actual runtime doesn't matter, they are LONG, yet they fly by as nothing at all.
Ling and Greed relationship is one of the best in this anime XD
In regards to your question on whether or not Hoenheim(however you spell that) could resurrect his wife, nah. It was previously said that when you die for real, you can't be brought back.
20:16 No back in Episode 20 Ed as good as proved Death is permanent. Their mothers soul no longer exists, so she can't be brought back in any capacity
28:20 What clued you in? The Subtitles.
44 episodes and still thinking every scene and character is filler or non important for the story. 🤣 Bido, even Yoki is very important.
I'll miss seeing your reactions to this show once it ends but I do like ReZero and I'm looking forward to your reactions to that. And yeah, I get it when it comes to characters growing older. Not many anime does that and usually characters in other shows grow up after a time skip or just in the show's epilogue. FMA B shows them growing up as the show goes on so it's not easy to realize they did grow up unless a scene points it out.
And yeah, Al's strength probably comes from his armor. They showed a bit of what Al's real body inside the gate looks like now and it doesn't look strong. You mentioned you liked both (the old) Greed and Ling... well, look who are coming back with more screentime! lol
Al also doesn’t sleep.
29:29 maybe he could win if he ever put the rest of the fucking shield on.
Them having that Arya sex scene in the later seasons of Game of Thrones was hard to watch. Doesn't help the actress is small and still looked like herself as a kid.
it's finally time for ling and greed to go from great characters apart to start being better together
Yes! I love Ling too😂
YES FINALLY MORE GREELING
BEST DUO IN FMAB
I'll wait for the Overlord reactions, it'll be worth it!
ahhhhh we're getting to the part that gets harder and harder NOT to binge :'(
xD
If you think this episode's among the strongest and best in the series...it's only going to go up from here on out :D Get ready for everything to go absolutely off the charts
Another great reaction, another great beard.👍
