'Share the loot with the soldiery' is my favourite rule. Corporate employees often obviously don't care about the business, they 'listen when the leader is watching' as Son Tzu said, because they aren't getting a piece of the victory for themselves. Reward your people well and you will attract more customers and good employees.
Regarding the contrast between your interpretations of "put yourself in chaotic situations" and "show up prepared", I would say that these two concepts are two sides of the same coin in that a good strategist prepares for any eventuality and conserves their energy and resources to deal with chaotic situations as they unfold; dealing with chaos is much easier when you are prepared for uncertainty.
I have kept written, audio, and video journals since age 15, and i will be 75 in October. I used the recorder apps, UA-cam, and Judi Grace StoryCorps. Thank you so much! thank you.
Joseph's perspective can literally make this book an easy ready .highly recommended in several aspects of like but I have been struggling to make some sense out of it .this could be an oasis to me thanks Joseph Rodriguez.
Loved this!! Couple this deconstruction of The Art of War with self-knoweldge and introspection through meditation, and you might just be winning in every area of life.
Listening to this on a forklift at a third party warehouse. Someone should send my "leadership" the book and this video. Also...thank you for this video.
Whatever is ancient or contemporary, stratagem and tactics are necessary including military tactics and foreign policy tactics and business sale tactics
Joseph Rodrigues Keep going. I love your channel and I will try to support you by checking every ad on your videos and I will share your videos with all my friends and family.
In maneuvering your plans being dark and impenetrable last night and when you move fall like a thunderbolt I see it more like it keep them guessing and when you move come down like a hammer hit them hard so they don’t even see it coming
What you buy you pay for and it becomes baggage. What you sell cost part of your soul. You always end up with the same amount. Therefore, a real war can never be won- only lost over time.
It seems eons, i first read the book from Dad's library before leaving for college life. Not understanding almost anything, I stole (one of his favorite books, and not the one to be let out of sight)the book from him and smuggled it to college, where i read it atleast 20 times. Still NO-GO. 17 years since then I read the Upanishads. It was so simple yet I did not (or could not) see it. What I believe to be the operating principle is desire- Free from desire you see the reality, in desire the veil obscures.
there are some mistakes in the translation from ancient Chinese to english. so if you have some knowledge about ancient Chinese it is helpful to get more information from 孙子兵法
Thank you thank you thank you!! 🙏I made it 111 You deserve abundance in your life! You deserve success in your life! You deserve happiness in your life! 🕉🌼
In the first line of weak points and strong; I PERSONALLY don’t see it at all your way. To me I read it as pick your field of battle and make them fight your fight on your timeline by picking the field of battle and being prepared and fight when your ready and have an advantage
In covering the cost of war one application is economic warfare. A concrete example of this abstract principle is during the korean war chinese soliders were told toward the end of the conflict, not to fight but to surrender to the UN forces. The UN forces in a very short times had over 100,000 chinese P.O.W.'s to feed cloth and house, this expense was to great for the U.N. forces to bear, the chinese forced an armistice through financial warfare, winning without fighting.
An important historical point to mention would be that Sunzi strategies ( real names of the "book") was not written by Sunzi who is an imaginary caractere . The strategies were first written during the 1st century AD of the Han period, and were not as developed as now. Along the centuries that follows the writings appeared with more details and were said to be written during the Zhou period 500 BC by the general Sunzi who is still a legendary figure since there's no historical evidence of his existence.
I'm now wondering after watching your video discourse that maybe Charles Taze Russell the founder of modern day Jehovahs Witnesses knew his way around the pages of The Art of War as well as the holy scriptures lol. PS loved the video well done sir, from as I was once told a very complex person who looks for the unusual.
Nice video. Being humble does not work though, it makes it worse. Am I not mixing humbleness with submisiveness.... Being submisive makes it worse for sure.
I love how people take this as gospel and there are no incorrect statements. Most of this book is in direct conflict with; "Amateurs strategy. Professionals talk logistics."
I just bought this book. I’m retired, for about 2 years, I wish I had this book when I was working! What an eye opener about my struggles.
