@@mumbles215it’s not that unrealistic that nobody noticed. Most people around him would have had their headphones on and their eyes glued to their own screens, fully focused on their own games. There’s also hardly any light in these places apart from the light coming from the computers themselves. And y’know, it’s not the kind of café where people move around much.
Especially in Taiwan, no one is going to notice. Idk if it was in Taipei but it's... kind of busy there.

It's important to note that playing video games isn't the source of the problem here. In the description given for DC's life before going over the medical side of things, it was stated that he was in a pretty rough place in life. Being in about the same spot right now, video games are a much needed escape for me. While I am aware that too much escapism is a bad thing, I think its much more important to address the root cause of WHY someone spending so much time gaming, rather than just telling people to limit their screen time. I've had people telling me my whole life that video games are ruining my life, and if I don't throw away my consoles I'll end up a loser, but in all seriousness, video games saved my life. Almost all the close friends I have I found online, and it gives me something that I can be passionate about without having to be anxious.

Damn I wanted to comment something like this, alright ig
A man breathed continuously for 70 hours. This is how he got a pneumothorax.
In a way I am glad I have restless-leg syndrome. Being a gamer and IT-professional means I spend most of my life sitting in a chair. The syndrome is very annoying, but it at least prevents my suffering this kind of injury - because I feel an overwhelming need to move my legs and often stand up to walk around for no apparent reason.
the sad part is it's possible he was already dead when his heart beat came back
being in a coma with significant damage- no response to pain or light or anything- his brain was probably already dead and thus only a manner of time before his body finally followed
things like this are why addiction needs to be taken seriously, and why we need to handle mental health seriously
lack of resources, information and care lead to cases like these
This is why I'm glad I have to pee every hour.

Many things happened here.
He deprived himself of sleep, probably drink, energy drinks to stay awake 3 straight days and probably barely ate anything.
But yes, if you manage to stay awake for 72 hours straight and no sleep It is very possible for your body to shut down permanently. Some of that could’ve triggered being that he had some underlying health problem he wasn’t aware of.
you thought you could sit down for 70 hours you thought wrong🤣🤣🤣
I find it hard to believe he didn't have to get up to take a pee over 72 hours.
He hardly drank any water, so basically his body is pretty dehydrated. Because of that, his body can't lose anymore fluids through pee. He also hardly ate anything, so his body has nothing to digest and turn into fecal material.

We were thankfully only open for 12 hours a day so they had to get up and go home after when we were closing but hands down no doubt in my mind if we WERE open 24 hours, I could easily see a couple of our regulars getting to the point we'd have to call EMS because they would practically live there. oof
@Erick Flores Fluxyum's comment was just on top of this when I found it
He was banned for using a hack that made me him not need sleep.
I did stuff like this in my late teens and early 20s. Not quite to this magnitude, but still. Turns out i have ADHD, and treatment resistant depression and anxiety. Video games was just a way for my brain to get that little bit of dopamine it so desperately wanted.
Now that im being treated, i don't play video games near as much, and when i am sitting for extended periods of time, i get up and move around every couple of hours.
This is the case with me too. But the med that had the most effect on me is an SSRI. Stimulants just made me an anxious mess than I usually am. And I find that I don't have the need to play video games beyond a few hours a week as opposed to several tens of hours I used to play every week. What do you do with the left over time from not playing games anymore?
I'm sitting for 5 hours now, I better do some squats right now...

man i play games everyday, sometimes i just dont and chill out, i could never imagine playing for 3 days straight without getting up, i get uncomfortable just sitting and gaming for more than three hours without getting up, i have to get up and walk for like 30 minutes after that long
Man the thing this channel teaches me most often is that I’m reeeeaaally lucky I didn’t die in college
Why does he look like he's 25 and has 30 years of medical experience?
He's Asian...
Papa_succ that’s rassist.... and 100% what I was gonna say.
Cause that's what med school does
Because he studies hard in his career as a medical scientist/doctor.

A man ate an apple a day to keep the doctors away, this is how the doctors tracked his location.
I’m “sitting” here, listening to you, speak about blood, pulling in the legs, I don’t want to sit anymore
Here's my personal take on this: This is a man who just gave up. He was at rock bottom. No job, no home, nothing. Maybe he was considering suicide, but was too afraid to do it, and just stayed in that limbo, not caring if he lived or died. Maybe he thought video games would make him happy again, give him the hope he needed. He just sat there, hoping something would happen. It didn't.
How do you know it didnt?😱
something did happen, something what is logical :) Or did he think a hot girl will get interested and speak to him?
So sad, I think he did this several weeks and at some point even a good healthy human cant handle it anymore
totally agree with you. I tought the same.
I think video games were a way to escape reality, when you are focused on a game you don't think about all the problems in your life
Yeah, sadly that's what he hoped that something would happen, eventually it did. Unfortunately it was his own demise.
GAMER RISE UP
And walk and move around

WASTED
Then sit back down.

A man ends up at EU after binge watching Chubbyemu videos for a week straight.
I knew it! I knew this video would eventually come! Now describe exactly how im going to kick the bucket 💀
Huge respect for cameraman. He's been recording for 73 hours straight.
And he was just staring at DC suffering LMAO
He was standing so it was okei.

I kinda want to know how his mum and old friends felt when they heard the news
doing anything nonstop for 70 hours is dangerous
*me: breathes constantly for 70hours*
David Wang most of the time the act of breathing is left to the autonomous nervous system, which, since you don’t have conscious control over it, hardly counts as “doing” anything.
But I get your joke tho
i am unemployed for 38 years, served me well so far
Well. It might just take a little longer. Oxygen itself eventually begins to poison you in a way by the time you get really old, in your 80's or 90's.
Do we perceive things at a lower resolution(or approximations) than reality?
The way I see this is that gaming as a controlled hobby can have benefits, which is shown in multiple studies, but gaming can just as easily result in a person being overly dependent on it resulting in cases like this one.
I have come a long way since I was 19/20. Because I dedicated so many hours to video games I was fired from a job for calling out a lot. Nowadays I'm good with just playing for a few hours then I turn it off. I never went to this extreme like DC.
"DC is a 25-year-old man, presenting to the emergency room, dead on arrival...." THE END....
not MEDICALLY dead... so not dead.
I feel bad for laughing at this
@49jubilee In the description, it says that the case is from Taiwan
As any gamer knows, "death" is not synonymous with "game over".
