For those who didn't watch the movie, she is an actress who cheated on him with, I think, her co actor. He already had suspicions of her cheating, but they decided to take a vacation to the UK at a cabin, that neither of them booked but thought the other did. It was here that his suspensions of her cheating were confirmed. She leaves for the town but sees a shadowy figure while leaving. Kevin Bacon then gets another written message in his journal telling him he should have left, too. Now, he and his daughter are trapped at the house and can not leave. He calls her to come back, and she does to get their daughter, but he can't leave the house. It turns out that she was his second wife. His first wife died by drowning. He was blamed and charged for it but acquitted. It turns out he didn't kill his first wife but watched her drown and did nothing to help her. And now the devil shall have his way with him.
I haven't seen the movie but I've read the novella... these comments are like "good for him! He shouldn't be the one to leave! And good for him for keeping his kid with him!" and I understand the impulse in real life, but in this story... he should've been the one to leave with the kid 😆😆

“It would feel a lot better if you yelled and screamed like a normal person” This hit 😂, the reason you show indifference is because that’s the best way to break someone. Yelling and screaming just helps them justify their actions. Being stoic and indifference is the only way to win in these situations
His emotional expression at her infidelity is "the problem". This is a common excuse for female infidelity. They don't feel guilt, they just feel the wouldn't have had to cheat if you had just done A,B or C. The fact that you remained faithful is never the point.
And what is the excuse for male infidelity? It's the same. This is not a gendered problem. Cheaters regardless of their gender would always try to justify their actions. That's a human response to guilt.
Have not watched the movie but this scene alone is how I ended my relationship with my last ex, quiet, calm and anger. It's crazy because she was the one who asked me to agree to a committed relationship. But everywhere we go, she purposely try to get attention from other men and I believe it's to get me riled up and confront the men. I remember I got into a physical altercation and I was always angry and yelling when we go out together. It got to the point where I just calmed down and thought about why she was doing all these stuff and if I couldn't change her ways through just talking, then it was not worth being angry and loud anytime she does this. I broke it off when her phone bill (which is under my plan) went off the roof even after 500 minutes free and she had the persons name as her bestfriend's name and I believed her for the longest. But when I actually checked the number, it was not her sister and I called, it was another guy she was talking too behind my back. At that point, I didn't even care and calmly just asked her to leave the house. At that moment I felt nothing at all, all I know is she needed to get away from me. Took her 2 hours of begging and crying and I still felt nothing. I finally got her real bestfriend to pick her up. After it was all over, I felt a sign of relief but also exhausted.
Yell and scream like a normal person. People have no idea what a rageful man is capable of. And to top it off, she wants him to leave and leave his daughter after she cheated. It's always about them, isn't it?
How irresponsible can she get? She betrays him and then cannot even be humble enough to at least accept the consequences? Instead, she insists that he gives up even more... what an insane follow-up. He's hurt enough as it is, but she's gonna put him in a position where if he wants to keep living his life and be a parent he would have to confront the cause of that pain again by coming to her? He cannot heal that way, and she cannot focus on mending what she broke unless she is put in the position where it's crystal clear what the consequences feel like. Why should the good one be put in that position? Why should he take anymore punishment while she already took too much of the reward? If anyone's gonna be the main parent, it's gonna be the person who never betrayed. That's pure logic. The moment she acted out the betrayal she should've known that loss of freedom would be the consequence. Just like you know that any crime lands you in jail. You don't get to talk your way out of it. People got seriously hurt. A family breaking apart is traumatizing, especially for the child. Don't try to justify that with your selfishness.
She certainly took that well. Not a bit of shame or regret. Then she actually seems relieved that she doesnt have lie and hide her cheating anylonger. It is so exhausting. I loved it when he said she had to leave. That, along with the statement that she doesnt make the rules anymore. Women hate accountability because they rarely experience it.

Technically, in cases of infidelity the court sides with the person who was cheated on. Easy case for him to win.
@@GabrielMartinez-sd8pc Don't hit this man with logic. He is on the "hate America band wagon" and I'm sure has no intentions of getting off.

@Joeng Sui because men aren't allowed to be victims? Only women? Women cheats on man and the man goes to jail, the man says its not fair and your response to that is he shouldn't complain?
@Joeng Sui men don't go to jail because women cheated, the man will go to jail because the woman usually keeps the property and the kids, when the man can't pay alimony and child support he will be jailed by law, this happens regardless if she cheated or not because of the no fault divorce law, She can also claim abuse and the man will be jailed until proven innocent, there are mgtow channels that cover these cases everyday
The reality is that she calls the Police, say he attacked her (a self-inflicted bruise is always a good idea) & they make HIM leave when she says she's 'frightened' - we live in a gynocracy, she can easily destroy him...
He should have called the police before he told her he found out. That way they could see that nothing happened to her when they arrive.
good on him for "staying calm" and not yelling. she for sure was going to use that as an excuse to start crying and play the victim like how almost all women do when they get caught in a lie and/or cheating by their man.

It’s crazy how they really downplay the severity of the situation like that.
They’ll be screaming and acting tough, but the second you call them out, they all of a sudden are harmless, innocent creatures
Thank you.👍😀

I haven't seen the movie but I've read the novella... these comments are like "good for him! He shouldn't be the one to leave! And good for him for keeping his kid with him!" and I understand the impulse in real life, but in this story... he should've been the one to leave with the kid 😆😆

This hit 😂, the reason you show indifference is because that’s the best way to break someone. Yelling and screaming just helps them justify their actions. Being stoic and indifference is the only way to win in these situations
I love the way he was calm .
His emotional expression at her infidelity is "the problem". This is a common excuse for female infidelity. They don't feel guilt, they just feel the wouldn't have had to cheat if you had just done A,B or C. The fact that you remained faithful is never the point.
Huh????
And what is the excuse for male infidelity? It's the same.
This is not a gendered problem. Cheaters regardless of their gender would always try to justify their actions. That's a human response to guilt.
Holy shet, so that's how it's done......Nice

Good man
