@@the.shortang214 No, the video uses autocaptions. They aren't accurate, especially for species names. Hopefully the creator updates with actual typed CC. _For Thea For Thea, craft Cilla's, BioMEMS, Seaton's, Semper V-Bums, simpler views_ and other gems probably have proper names.
Just want to say, even though this video is a year old, I’m really impressed to see you still replying to comments! Kudos to you! Really helps newbies like me as questions 😊♥️👍
Thanks! :) We're glad you found it helpful :)
How about 5 years later. Still replying hehe. Love the hardy succulent videos. I like the soft succulent too but since I'm zone 5 I prefer hardy. Not many videos it
Thank you SO much!! I’m learning everything I need for my succulents from your channel. 🌱
Haworthias are my favorite for sure due to their tolerance of low-light conditions.
Thank you for a great video!
I absolutely love your UA-cam channel!!! Thank you for sharing so much of your knowledge❤️
I love watching your beautiful succulents! 😍😍😍
My favorite soft succulent has to be the burro tail. I don't have one but am looking to get one soon.

Her there is so many you don’t know what to grow
Me after buying six just today:😯
I am losing count!
Echeverias are my fave variety, for sure. I live in 4 season climate with some pretty cold winters, but my Echeverias are indoors with a grow light, and plenty of warmth!
Great video! This really helped me find good succulents for my area.
Awesome video! Keep em coming!! I've actually had fun recently discovering Hen and chick varieties that can survive our -40c Saskatchewan winters outside and will come back in spring!! I even had some make flowers this year! and they had lots of chicks to come back again!
Well I just assumed that no succulents would survive outside in Minnesota over the winter but I guess I'm wrong! Awesome! Do you know of a specific variety of hens & chicks to recommend?
Very informative. Thank you.
This video told me that I have so much to learn about types of succulents and how to pronounce the various ones.
Great video. Thank you
Thanks to your website I discovered Mountain Crest Garden!! Love my sempervivum, now I am waiting for my aeonium kiwi!! Love your channel

I am going get some Succulents for the purpose of leaving them outside in the winter to. See what happens. Our winters have gotten much colder and dryer. So we shall see what happens. I will let you know in the spring. Really good information. Thank you.
I’ve been very pleased with my purchases from Mtn Crest and all of my succulents have arrived in great condition. Spent the last week potting up the 50 little plants I purchased, thanks to the great information I’ve learned from UA-cam videos I’ve watched over the last month or so. 🌞👏🏼
I am interested in knowing how it's going, 3 years later.
I live in Idaho had no idea we could grow succulents outside year-round! I'm definitely going to try to add some to my yard! Thanks for this great info!!!

I discovered this channel from your video on watering. I really needed this video, because I love succulents... but always over water them.
Love the haworthia zebra plant 😍
My fav is the panda plant😍 thanks for this info
Since working in the Garden Department at Home Depot i have fallen in love with succulents. Succulents Sunday is a rule here in Arizona.. Even though summers get really warm... we water succulents once a week and they are happy with that. Sooo many varieties and a great species for beginner gardeners.
Excellent job 👍❤😊
I didn’t realize how many cold hearty succulents I owned until I watched this! Thanks!
Me too😅
Thank you so much. I'm a beginner and this video has been very helpful.
You are very welcome!
Good stuff!
Great video!! Thank you so much for sharing!! Your so knowledgeable!! 🌵🐞🌵
Thank you! :)
Last year I planted some Serpervivum outdoors. They survived the winter in UK very well and now they are growing even bigger.
Thanks for the video! Now I have some ideas for what might work in the ground where I live!
Great info. .thnx for sharing
Love hearing you say all the names, im trying to practice learning whose who. My favorite is kalanchoes.
i love every succulent ❤️🌿
I absolutely love succulents!!! They look like they came from a Dr. Seuss book!!
this is very useful as i am converting my lawn to a more drought resistant landscape using succulents!
That's exciting!
Some close up of the hardy succulents, as you did with the soft succulents, would have been helpful. Thank you for this video!
Another fantastic video and some very very useful advice at the pre-purchasing stage. Kirkstone approves!
Thanks Kirkstone!
Excelente!.. gracias
Awesome Video!!
What a great video! I’m in love with the sedum. I just moved into my first house-in cottonwood heights, Utah. I’m researching succulents because they’re so beautiful!
Awesome! You can grow some really great cold-hardy succulents in Utah.
Sooooo beautiful 😍
Interesting video 👍🏻Thanks for sharing your knowledge and helpful tips 🌹👏
You're very welcome!
My favorite is the fire 🔥 Pencil... love this succulent 🌵💕🌵🌵💕
Thank you for explaining about succulent. I started to plant it. Indoor outdoor, both. I live in South Dakota zone 4 . Thanks again.
You're welcome! Good luck!
good easy to understand explanations. Thanks
You're welcome!
Thanks, helped me a lot. Like your video. :)
I was wondering why the video looks so familiar, you shoot it at the mountain crest garden! That is my favorite store~
I live on a sailboat, so I don't have a window that faces one way, all day. My ponytail palm and hawarthias are doing really well. This was a really helpful video so I can build a hardy indoor garden.
I love that you have an indoor garden on a sailboat!
There is a great botanical gardens in Largo Florida! The have a succulent garden you won’t believe! Such variety !
I have planted lots of hens and chicks , and they do well in Iowa . Dragons blood sedum is a favorite of mine
I love this channel, OMG love succulents.
Thanks!
Gorgeous!!✨😃💕
Thank you!
Bears Paw are always my favourite, so furry and cute☺️
Yes! We have a video just about best paws here:
succulentsandsunshine.com/yt-bear
Thanks you! I've checked out Mountain Crest Gardens before.
You mentioned Cold Succulents. Sedum Rupestre (Angelina) grows beautiful here in Ohio. The orange and reds in the fall and winter are just magnificent! Thanks for the video.
Finally!! Someone who pronounces EKeveria correctly!
Soft succulents - love all the colors!
Hard succulents - would like to try some of these outside here in Minnesota! Need the cold hearty ones!
Lovely 🌹Thanks!
Very helpful video. We live in Zone 8, but we still get freezing temperatures in the winter so that our soft succulents move indoors with us. By trial and error I found out which of my sedums were cold hardy since the sellers gave no such information.
That was awesome 👏I ❤️ cactus 🌵 and suculentas!! Hawortias are my favorite!!
I live in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷!! We have a wonderful weather for all plants 🌱
Thanks 🙏🏻 🌹🌵🌱❤️🇵🇷
I just listened to an album called "Adopt-A-Succulent" and it immediately made me want to know more, lol
Great video
Great video! I was running out of room in the house. So this fall I planted some sempervivums in the yard. They got a little sunburned at first but hopefully they will adjust. I’d also like to add some opuntia in the spring.
Katie, you're a winner! Please email me at info@succulentsandsunshine.com to claim your free T-shirt! :)
You made me feel okay, because my cold hardy succulents have disappeared this winter! So, I’m hopeful that they’re going to be back!
Great video~👍
And I didn’t know about rosularias until now, they are so cute! I have to get some to grow now haha 😛
They are super cute! They do like lots of sun, so outside in a full sun (but not too hot) area will be the best.
thank you as I always learn everytime I visited your channel, your website and even your podcasts. I hope you can share more of succulents that can grow in the tropical country like ours, in the Philippines. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much and thanks for the suggestion :)
My favourite soft succulents are Kalanchoes, mini Aloes, and Gasterias. I live on Vancouver Island, Canada, and most of my cold-hardy succulents are Opuntias.
I live in Upstate New York and with this great info I plan to start an outdoor succulent garden next spring!
Found this video helpful to me even years later. I live in PA and i have a few succulents outside yeah round. There ia one cold hardy monocarpic plant that was forgotten... Dunce Caps are just amazing ans hardy. Its end of September here and my rosettes have formed cones... Its their death blooms that havent bloomed yet. They are so so so pretty. Dragons Blood is another sedum/ground cover thats spreads far and wide,,,, just stunning. I also added Prickly Pear this year. Opunuti is what im going to look for now and the other two like hens and chicks that you mentioned. Thank you soooo much.
So glad it is still helpful for you!
I'm in zone 5 - wish I could have some of those more soft succulents outdoors year round.
Loving you videos. BTW, that background color is all you. You shine in front of that color.
I love your videos. So informative and easy to follow. I have an obsession with Jade plants and just can't seem to ever pass one up. Lol. Thanks for posting!
Thanks so much for following along!
Wow! Thanks for all the info. I'm trying to add some around my cottage and home. I bought 2 huge ones and broke off all the small ones and made about 80 more. LOL. It was pretty great. Wife's like "WOW, you can do that!" and I fire back, "Oh yeah dear, Cassidy on UA-cam says no worries, divide away."
I'm located in Southern Ontario and we do experience quite cold weather. I would like to find a nice variety for ground cover. I would like it small and low and super hardy. That the dogs and some people will walk on them from time to time (large patch at the cottage that I just can't get anything to grow there). Thanks so much for your help! 🤗 Your eyeballs are freaking amazing! By they way I took to gardening because the wife hasn't showed much interest in outdoor duties (We got a blue jobs/pink jobs arrangement and it works very well.🙂). I've been growing cannabis for years and quite enjoy it. I found the house and cottage seems so bland, so I've been doing my best to get into "visual" gardening. I gotta say I've been doing quite well! You're help on this topic will be my "piece de resistance" if you will. LOL. Thanks in advance for your help. Adrian.
I'm so glad were able to propagate your succulents! That's fantastic! :)
Depending on your growing zone in Ontario, you should be able to grow cold-hardy Sedums and Sempervivums well. Something like Sedum nevii would be a good ground cover.
mountaincrestgardens.com/sedum-nevii-limited/?aff=2
Good luck in your succulent gardening adventures!
I love agaves, they have lots of pups and have such a nice aesthetic. Plus they get HUGE.
Yes! And they are one of a handful that do well outdoors year round in my area. They are great plants!
Crassula and have a special place in my heart
My fav is the burros tail they look very fun and "full" with leaves
I love soft succulents specifically the one that looks like a amazing rose
I live in Montana so I'm in zone 4. I had no idea there were other cold-hardy succulents besides Sempervivum!
I really like your channel
