Thank you so much for posting all these educational and informational videos!!! I am new to candle making, and I swear Ive seen EVERY SINGLE VIDEO and learned so much from each one!! You are my Candle Mentor in my mind lol....and one of my most favorite subscriptions! Great content Jeff!!!
I have been fighting with wicks and have more wicks on the way right to try right now. When you held up the jar I dropped my phone! Glad to know it gives other people trouble because I am beyond frustrated. Thanks always for your help!
These companies need to make a bag of wicks with different wicks to test out, so we won’t have to buy 100 wicks that do not work. That way we can test each wick for the candle that we are creating. It all could be so simple. I keep getting tunneling with the new libby tumblr jar and it is soooo annoying. Wish me luck.
Me too , iv been having a right nightmare with a 50cl jar 🤦 gone thru every size and all are either too small or too big so gonna try this tmro and use 3 smaller ones and see how I go il let u know if it's successful but iv literally made the same candle 10 times and still not perfected ,I have to be close now surely ha
Hello! I have been making candles for 13 years, and recently opened a candle vessel online shop in Michigan. I would like to 3d print a template for others. How do we mathematically space them away from the EDGES...and not just each other? I’m guessing for now (as i have been for 13 years), but there has got to be an equation for it...lol!
@@rollinoutsidetv2892 How do I decide what size wick to use? According to LoneStar: We have come up with a simple equation to use (I know, math is scary) that can help you decide what size wicks to use in your candle jars: diameter ÷ the number of wicks you want to use + .25 inches = your wick size So, if you have a jar that is 4.5 inches wide and you want to use 3 wicks, your equation would look like this: 4.5 ÷ 3 + .25 = 1.75 This means you will need a wick that will burn up to a 1.75 inch diameter to use 3 wicks in your 4.5 inch wide jar. OR Divide the diameter of the jar by half Example: 3 inch/2= 1.5 in You will select the wick size for 1.5 in and test 2 of them.
Hi there, first I want to thank you for all your help. I am just starting my candle making journey. I wonder how I can find out which wick to use. Do you have a video or book to help me with this. I really would appreciate your help. Thank you, Pat
Either I’m a moron or this definitely doesn’t work for tins like you say it does. So, you cut and place the paper inside the container, how do you find center to know where to place the coins?
@jeffstandley how to decide which wich be suitable for the container? Ex for 3 inch diameter container cnd 10 or 12 etc or Cnd 22 or 24 etc to double wick?
@@nicki8062 I used double when I was using these jars . I have tried the 3 wicks but I didn’t like how the candle burned once it got below the half way mark . What wicks are you using ?
Big fan! Have learned everything from you and I make candles for family and friends as gifts. They want me to start a little business but I am afraid of the liability issues. Do you advise to buy Insurance? I hear is pretty expensive!! Thanks
I have the 3" diameter libbey straight side tumblers from Candle Science, and using 464 wax, but soon will have some 6006, what wooden wick do you recommend for this jar?

How do you determine what size wicks to use when double wicking?
You will find this tool helpful =) www.candlescience.com/learning/wick-guide
Christina DePino that guide isn’t helpful enough for these methods
I thought he answers all his questions. I’ve yet to see a response to anything I’ve asked him. I wish he stop saying that

Hello! Thanks for the video! What would you recommend for 6046 wax and this Jar? Do you think Double cd 4 would work?
Great, thanks for sharing. Stay safe one and all.
Thanks for the video ! I’m happy to have subscribed
Hi, what wood wick would you suggest for this jar using. C6 or 464? Thank you
Thanks for the video Jeff. Have you ever wick the 3 -wick tumbler from CS with 6006? If so would you know a good starting point for Htp wicks ?
I have this question as well did you come up with anything ?
Preshus Singleton I have use Htp 73 and Htp 62 depending on FO.

Genius!
Should we use pennies or dimes to double wick the square dollar tree jar?
Brilliant! Thanks for this!!
I have triple wood wicked my 11 cm diameter candle, but 1 wick always drowns. I tried 2 wicks but didnt have a good melt pool. What should i do ?

There's a girl on YT that uses er cricket to make a disk to insert in her jars to wick her candles. Works great. Pretty cool video.
I use this container, was using 464 but I am going to try parasoy which wick do u recomend?? Thank you so much!!❤
Did you find a wick ? I’m still searching for a wick for my straight tumbler jars . 💜
How did you do your labels on top? What did u use!
Thank you so much. I was wondering how to do that.
Curious what size wick do you use in that one
Soooooo do you recommend the quarter or the nickel for candle sciences 3 wick Libby tumbler
I think the nickels would be better for that one. I’ll have to test one.

Call CS, they will be able to tell you.
From what I’m understand the double wicks should work fine. Or double up the small ones.
Thank you!!💜💜💜
You are awesome
Can i know How big is the circle that the penny make ? We dont have penny in our country.
😱
Where do you live? May i send you some?
Nice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Jeff.
What is the blue tube you are using for the wick
Just a hollowed out Bic pen.
@@StandleyHandcrafted thank you 🙏
How to get them to stop moving at bottom? My wicks move when i pour in
I use Red RTV to secure them.
What if you're using a container that is 3.5 and then tapers to 2.25 at the top. Would you double wick that or nah?
Crip2Knyght That’s a great question! I need to make a video showing that test. That’s a tough one to answer.
@@StandleyHandcrafted that would be great thanks
this is an awesome video, with great advice. However it doesn’t help me figure out the distance from the side of the vessel.
Not sure what you mean. Does it need to? Once you wick you still need to test to determine how far to place them for a final product.
U didn’t tell a diameter as per dual & triple wicks arrangement??
