This one I tried at the 6year gathering. It's delicious but screams toned down deanston 20 with some funk. I prefer the 57.1 batch bc it holds more to distilleries core. I got deanston 20 .....no substitute exist still. Its a solid 3 in my book.. Great review.
I want to think that I have the 2021 batch because it is 56.9% abv but, it was a dust covered box that I found behind 2 longrow bottles. The box looked like it had been pushed to the back for years. I mean it has to be the 2021 because the 56.9 abv matches the 2021 year, right?
The biggest problem is you cannot find the bottle, old one was great (57.1), even online store don't have new one or if they do it's over $120(not including shipping) I probably went to 15-16 different liquor stores in NJ ,NY area couldn't find one. At that price point it's not cheap 8-year-old and definitely not affordable. I do want to try new one, trying to talk myself into it to getting one online but not really sure if I will. Great job guys as usual.
I just saw this at a store in California for $109. I guess the hype and demand pushed the price up. At $70 I too would’ve purchased 2 bottles. At $109 I only purchased 1. Good enough for me. Cheers! BTW, even at $109 this sucker sold out fast.
I actually like this one better than the 57.1% version. Its more complex, more balanced, more Springbank distillery signature coming through. 2019 version is awesome also but the cask overpowers the spirit a bit.
Cracked mine the other day! it was absolutly wonderful, definetly one to take your time over! As you say, there is so much going on that it becomes hard to define. certainly a sweetness but not caramel or berry but a rich, more subdued sweetness to it. Picked it up for a shade under £50.
It sounds enticing. When they decide to market it in my state, and price it reasonably, I'll try it. At this point, it is just another mythic spirit. It ain't available here.
Great review guys! I just got this one and the dark springbank 10 Local Barley that just came out so life is good right now :)
Sounded so good gentleman! Thanks for sharing. I have been fortunate enough to pick this up, hopefully I will crack it open soon. Cheers!
This showed up in my state two months ago. Picked up two bottles at $70. Great Sherry bomb.

Totally agree with you. The old one is so much better. Cheers.
Great analysis Andrew, it makes me want to find a bottle even more.

Not sure when this was filmed, but it's here.
Was just at the store and they have 2 cases on the shelf.
Nice one fellas! ✌️
Any interest in shipping one to Ohio?
@@michaellambright7968 If I could ship from South Carolina, then I'd do it in a heartbeat brother! Hasn't gone well in the past...
