So glad you are discovering Dylan! His work changed the way everyone, including, notably the Beatles looked at songwriting. I think his voice adds so much brilliance, as well!
Is his tone for me Wawouhh when the music start I was like what is this then with the playing of the instrument and the time of his voice does it for me ohh ❤❤❤ see you tonight for the live darling ❤❤❤
Bob's best songs: Knocking on Heaven's Door (studio version), Subterranean Homesick Blues, Most Likely You Go Your Way (Mick Ronson mix), It's All Over Now Baby Blue, Hurricane, She Belongs to Me, Highway 61 Revisited, Shelter from the Storm, Tangled Up in Blue, Tight Connection to My Heart...
Bob Dylan was or is essentially the father of American folk. There are a few others before him, like Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger, but Bob is also an icon. 'Lay Lady Lay', 'Tangled up in Blue', 'Hurricane' (true story of a pro boxer wrongfully charged for murder), 'Like a rolling stone', are just a few of his better classics in a deep rabbit hole.
Very nice to see that you're onto Dylan now and keep digging. Dylan is simply amazing and I've been listening to him for about 50 years now. You're in for one hell of a journey. In the history of recorded there are only two artists that are the true GOAT'S (Greatest Of All Time) and that's Dylan and you probably know where I'm going next with this. That would be The Beatles and it ain't even close. I don't need to hear from anyone on this with Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd or Queen. All great bands but let's not confuse them with The Beatles and Bob Dylan. These 5 cats were on a whole different level. Peace and Love Cimdy
Great reaction to a great song. I remember learning this song shortly after it was released and I still think it's one of the greatest breakup songs ever written, along with Harry Nilsson's "You're Breaking My Heart", although that one expresses a more bitter point of view than the resigned disappointment that Dylan expresses here.
Once again...a great reaction to a great song. Dylan has so many songs that are gems, it's hard to narrow down which is his best. Many people here are recommending songs for you and they're all great suggestions. A few of my favorites I haven't seen mentioned are: To Ramona, Chimes of Freedom, Watching the River Flow, and Forever Young (the 'first' version). There are so many more I can think of, but I think you have enough to chew on. I dearly hope you and all that are in your circle have a very healthy and joyful Twenty Twenty-Three. Cheers!
The finger picking guitar that opens "Dont Think Twice, Its All Right" almost magically invites the listener to slow down and engage the song with their heart rather than their mind or their booty. That makes the break up/send off even more poignant. Joan Baez covered the song in 1963 as did Peter, Paul and Mary. Baez and PP&M covered a lot of Dylan's songs in the early years. Johnny Cash covered it in 1965. Elvis covered it in 1973. And folk singer Melanie Safka recorded an excellent cover of the song in 1974. PS. Sorry I missed your live stream. Happy New Year!
I think this one of Dylan's saddest songs. The character in the song wanted love but never found genuine love so he left. Very sad. But the last line is funny "You just kinda wasted my precious time"...when you KNOW he had nothing going on! Hahahahahaha!
Absolutely brilliant and absolutely sarcastic ala "Positively 4th Street" I LOVE IT thanks Cimdy"!!
So nice absolutely amazing
One of my favorite Dylan songs. It has been covered many times. Good reaction Cim.
One of my early fav's ... I just love this song.

Beautiful song. Listen to the same song sung by Bob in the 90's with Eric Clapton accompanying him. That's something!

Just one question who is your number one idol ELVIS or Dylan? Lol
This song changed my life the first time i heard it, seems it did the same to you?
Could you please play frenzy by screening jay hawkins
Bob isn’t for teenagers so don’t think twice about not finding him sooner!
He was not talking to you
I would have liked to hear less about how great Bob Dylan is and more on your reaction to the lyrics and the story conveyed by them.
So dissappointng
❤
