I love how you respect Maliketh and give him the full transition animation treatment.
i think he put that because the vid would be too short lol. 1/3 of vid is his cut-scene...
it's an amazing cutscene too. listening to the full audio on earphones, almost brings a shiver to my spine. he spent the last part of his life protecting Destined Death, sealing it into himself and bearing the curse. And now, he has to unleash it again, to become the legendary Slayer of Demigods once more.

@@tannerkennedy4192 prolly they scaled him back so that more people could actually complete the game. Seriously, a couple of UA-camrs tested it out and with a full HP bar he bodies ANYONE else including Malenia
@@molh394 yeah they did two thing to make it easier for the player to win gave him half an hp bar and have the player the blasphemous claw if they looked for it
I love how the first part against Gurranq was such an elegant dance around all his attacks …and then as soon as he turns to Maliketh it became a brutally relentless assault, shutting down his attacks and obliterating him at close range.

@@SirBungus , it actually is, if you complete his quest with deathroots, some of his lines in bossfight will change, referring to your previous meeting.
@@SirBungus You can see the jewel he stabs on his hand on Gurranqs model. Also Cinqueda, the dagger Maliketh uses in phase 1, can be found behind the Bestial Sanctuary.
@@SirBungus if you look at gurranq left hand he has the medallion that maliketh has also if you angle your camera near gurranq head you can see malikeths helmet

@@yueshijoorya601 speed runners run the game as fast as possible, allot of times not engaging with boss mechanics in order to have fastest times.
What ongbal does is different imo, his unique builds and the way he works those into the timings of the bosses mechanics is just beautiful.
If it’s a perfectly timed weapon art, or a combination of spells. Or even just a charged heavy lmao. It’s just so stylish and unique.
Speed runners would never, they use meta builds and follow meta paths racing each other. It’s still cool but different I guess.
Morgott's cursed blade is my favorite weapon in Elden Ring. In no small part because of the fantastic and gorgeous weapon art.

It needs a buff. 35 dex just to hold it, and no innate bleed damage. Pretty annoying.

I love how you use beast power against him and then change to black blade(?) Mode for the second phase
For reference, it's called the cursed blood sword (I think) and it's what Morgott uses

Ty for keeping the cutscene. It's my favorite in the entire game
The sheer mastery at play is unreal. A great example is during the first phase. He knows Maliketh's attack spacing's so well that right after an attack, ONGBAL just stands still and starts to charge an R2 because he knows that Maliketh's next attack will just barley miss him. And he does it multiple times. In the 2nd phase, the music makes it truly feel like an epic battle between 2 masters . ONGBAL creates art with his fights.
Your Malikethamphetamine fights are my personal favorite to watch, because he's the hardest boss for me to deal with. It usually feels like his punish windows are close to non-existent, but while watching you play so aggressively, I've noticed that your positioning is what let's you open him up.

@@Shin-Taka Could be talking about fighting this boss. Which describes it pretty well. Gurranq/Maliketh attacks and dodges stupidly fast, especially spastic in phase 1, and you just have to just _keep up_ and swat at him until one of you is dead. (Maliketh, 2nd phase I actually find much more reasonable to fight than the Beast Clergyman who's mostly just annoying)

The spacing during the first phase is otherwordly accurate and calculated. And the parries against Maliketh, omg, Isshin would be proud.

Ah this was one of my requests! Though I doubt I was the only one. These "boss cosplay vs boss" vids are fun as always. A couple questions;
1. First phase you use the Beastclaw Great hammer(is that what it's called? Something like that) rather than the Cinquedea (which is what Beast Clergyman seems to use). The hammer is an appropriate weapon for the theme of course, but was the Cinquedea considered, but maybe the weapon not very good to use or something?
2. Was there an attempt at 2nd phase with Maliketh's greatsword, is there a reason you chose the Morgott curved sword over that? Is maybe the former weapon too strong/kills him too quickly even at +0?
Not complaining, just curious about choices of armaments here. Awesome as always! 👍
First of all, this video is actually more of free build play than cosplay. So I just freely picked the weapon(like Morgott sword).
And Cinquedea buff bestial incantation tho, the reason I didn't use it is that it doesn't have any unique movesets or skills unfortunately.

I got to Maliketh last night, first phase Ok not bad. Second phase he was everywhere, all over the arena, I needed a summons lol. Much respect to your videos because it is not easy at all, not even close lol.

He has criminally low hp. Average hp for a boss would be 20000 for an endgame boss. Maliketh has 10620 according to fextralife.

I always wanted other bosses to be more like Maliketh: faster and more aggressive. Idk if there's a mod for that. I kinda want one now. Maliketh's and Malenia's fights are by far my favorite.
No, you're supposed to hate that, those bosses are bad design, you shouldn't enjoy it
Elden ring reforged kinda does that with the bosses by adjusting its ai to attack more than normal. You have to toggle the hard mode switch at a site of grace to do that. Its an overhaul rebalances the whole game so you might not like the changes he made there

it took me almost 80 tries in my NG+ against Clergy/Maliketh and Ongbal destroying him without taking any damage. the mark of the true Elden Lord.
Just thought about something. Imagine him having special dialogue and an enrage buff if you inflict the *red* deathflame(not the orangeish one from the black knives or deathblight flame) making the (wrong) assumption that you were the one in particular who stole the fragment of death.
The clergy beastmen fight with daggers and the games like, you know what? Here's Garranqs hammer. His great hammer. His greathammer that he specifically never uses. Yes that great hammer.
I don't like how Maliketh's roar in the cutscene is basically mute. It is less of a roar and more a miscellaneous jumbling of low tones, implied to be loud, without actually being loud.

I'd like to get better at chain casting. Right now, my favorite chain combination is Bloodflame Talons x1 --> Black Blade --> Catch Flame x2 --> Theodorix's Magma --> Bloodflame Talons x1 and repeat if you want/if you have FP still. It's fast, powerful and stylish. Chain casting out from Black Blade is a little tricky; you have to buffer the next incantation's input earlier than you might think if you want to cancel the wind-down animation. Anyone have suggestions about what chain casts to try out next?

what if you did fortissax vs fortissax? using both his and the normal spear, the death lightning, lansseax's glaive and hookclaws with vyke's dragonbolt on them? and maybe use the crucible breath or placidusax's ruin(I know youve already done that against him though) I think that would be a fun one.

he just used the Blasphemous Claw mate, you can parry two attacks, the first one being the spin after the 3 projectiles, and the second being the jump. You can see the timing to parry by looking at the yellow glow. :)
