I ended up crashing my 00 black bravada(do not text and drive) bought another white one with a bad trans to replace it, swapped it over, I love these trucks. My 2 door 2wd blazer is dropped, with 9 inch wide prime 3 spoke wheels.
When are u guys going to post the video of how to hook up a switch to make it from 2wd to awd? Basically bypassing the smart trac system? Are u guys also from KY? I live right outside of Lexington in Paris, KY. I have owned over 20 S10s and blazers over the years. S10 was my first vehicle.
I just removed the torsion key bolt off and put angle blocks on the rear with some belltech shock on the front and s10 rear air shock in the back. Works perfect
@cafemotorsports How much are you able to lower the rear? How does it ride? Does it affect the 4wd? My son wants to drop ours... I would like it to be around a 3/4 or a little lower.
@@MartinRacingChannel if you get bell tech lowering shocks if rides good. Make sure you use angled lowering blocks for the rear. It would keep your pinion angle correct.
@@s10life I currently live in California and it is really a new thing that is really just looked down upon. And nothing able to be done per “smog” so a stock ride for now.
Thanks for this. It inspired me to buy a '99 Blazer and by a mere coincidence I found myself turning it into a clone of yours but in white!!! Full restore is ongoing! ❤️👍🏼😎 Awesome looks.
Why is it cutting up one tire like that? Maybe there's a bolt in the fender well you can take out to stop the issue of it cutting up the tire like that.
It was definitely getting into a bolt head and if we took the bolt out it would still rub the cladding sadly! We ended up with putting the stock keys back in and adjusting them as low as we could.
@@s10lifewhy would you need New lowering torsion keys ? I'm just doing a 2 inch drop in the back with the lowering blocks . But wouldn't the stock torsion setup easily bring it down the 2 inches I need ? Unless you're going more than 2 inches ? Thanks newbie to this kinda stuff But would like your input please Ty
That’s an excellent question! Short answer: yes you can use the stock keys to go lower. Long answer: if you want to maintain ride quality you want to keep the tension pretty close to stock tension and that’s what lowering keys do. They give you a lower ride but still retain the original tension for ride quality.
I just removed this lowering kit from my boys black 2000 bravada this summer. I would'nt have thought in a million years someone would have wanted it. Sad part it was so new it had no surface rust on it. Where we live you cant go any lower.
It's all about personal preference. We live on our 3,000 acre farm in KY but we love the low life so we lowered our Bravada and we love how it turned out. To each his own. Of course we have our lifted 4x4 5 speed S10 for farm use.
@@s10life I live on 2 acres in KY and my friend just gifted me a 2002 S-10 ZR2. Personal preference or just working with what you got. Thanks for posting this video. There is little information on how to lower 4x4s. I've always enjoyed lower vehicles, and how they drive. Just seeing how upset people around here and on the internet get about mentioning it makes me want to do it more. The truck has a lot of undercarriage rust so I feel like I will be replacing a lot anyway. Any other tips would be appreciated! Nice work! Kentucky Proud. :)

We love them too! Be safe out there

How much drop did you get at the front by just removing the bolts?
@@gunnarbaasner1621 about 3- 3.5" i have done a few thats what it average. With 3" blocks

I have a Jimmy and need to lower it. Just haven’t got around to it. Wish I had 2wd not 4wd but hey use what you have right.
Absolutely! It can still be cool with it lowered and 4x4

So to lower the front it’s only torsion key and shocks?
Correctamundo. Technically just keys and really you can loosen stock keys to lower it some before replacing keys entirely
I love the u-bolt and ratchet strap idea, pretty damn genius if you ask me. It's one of those "if you know you know" deals lol!
If it works it works!

So glad to provide inspiration! I'd love to see yours
We got a lot of content on this unit! Most recently radio and wheel/brake upgrades
Take a leaf spring out in rear
Not a bad idea. We went that route on our 1988 LS turbo S10 and it worked excellent!
Thanks for posting!I'm about to lower my 4x4 Blazer and glad I found a torsion key video.Did it lower more after the suspension settled?
Not really enough to notice
Looks better lowered. Excellent job. What kit is this from Belltech?
Thanks! This is a 4x4 2 inch drop with keys, blocks and shocks

Are those Camaro wheels?? 5x120 bolt pattern??
Yes
@@s10life any problems without running adapters?? I know your bolt pattern is 5x120.7 and the Camaro is 5x120.
The only problem I ran into was the center bore of the Camaro wheels needed bored out to fit around the Bravada hubs but the bolt patter was fine
@@s10life awesome!! Thanks
So what do I use to drop the front a 98 Chevy blazer 4x4 because I don’t have springs
You use lowering torsion keys, we got ours from Belltech
@@s10life ok thanks but would it matter if I get drop shocks would it go even lower or if I leave the stock shocks would it still be low?
I don’t think it will change your ride height

What size rims are on it?
These were 20s
We’re on 18/19 now
Can you still adjust the front height at all with the screws?
Yes
What did those wheels come off of? They look like 2nd gen lighting wheels.
These are 2010 era Camaro SS wheels
nice!!!! great!!!! good job without fear of success
