The m40 does not need a deflector. It is for that reason that 3m removes this from frm40. Without the baffle, the m40 will not fog up, moreover, it will not hurt the face or deform the nose cup.
Yo nice vid! I definitely despise the weight of this mask with its horrendous amount of metal parts. Also, before I got my hands on the carrier bag, I just cut a popsicle stick to fit snuggly in the notches and used that as a screwdriver. I’ve seen people use pliers before, but that might scratch the paint
the weight does take some getting used to. And ha i’ve tried so many random things to loosen the retaining ring too, it’s literally just a boredom thing.
I have two m40s for emergency use in case one breaks. Bought another one off ebay recently and was ripped off for a crappy quality m40. I did save the parts for it as a repair kit, so I'd recommend buying a second mask of the same type or the parts to repair it.
A vary solid choice for NBC thats the why I bought mine I paid 200 for mine but of course the person I bought mine from traveled a good bit of miles to meet me so yeah pretty solid for a nuclear and biological situation

@@yomada7790 quick and dirty way is to just get a 3.5mm mono screw terminal. When you strip the wires there are one white and one black there also some whire tread too. White is neutral - and Black is Positive

If you mean any effects on _yourself_ with using expired filters, you should be totally fine unless the filters are leaking or you’re using an old Soviet filter if you’re concerned about the low asbestos content

@@user-pu4qk8qf8b Hey there! I just did a small test without the lenses on and WITH the lenses on. Basically, the neutral-grey tinted outserts will tint everything you see like a normal strength pair of sunglasses. In a building, let’s say illuminated by a single small light source like a lamp, you will definitely be able to make out obvious large figures, but if multiple small items of similar color were tightly grouped together, I saw a mass of color and realized that it was quite hard to see that they were actually different small pieces. So in the nighttime if you were trying to use the outserts, you may have a slight issue with noticing small details. Hope that helps just a little bit better, hard to explain over words on a screen

You do a simple filter test where you turn it upside down (thread faced downward) above a piece of white or high contrasted paper and simply tap on the back of the filter. If any dark particles come from the filter and are clearly visible on the paper (and you’ve determined the particles are not dust that’s been sitting ON the filter) then your filter is likely leaking activated carbon
Looks like the mask is too big for you. I'm guessing you are wearing a med when you should have a small. I have a few if you're interested. Just picked up 2 more smalls the other day with complete kit for $50 each in excellent condition. 👍

You can modify the mic to be used on a computer or anything that uses a 3.5mm jack
