I did the range work and filming of this video before the Glock 44 was announced. It was simply due to be featured again. The G44 certainly adds to the conversation on this topic though! I have a review coming soon on that pistol, and I'm sure I will do a comparison. When I do, I'll be fair and honest about them as I try to be for everything - but it should be interesting!
I bought one last week and put 400 rounds through it so far. I tried three different types of bulk ammo and some Mini Mags. I have to say I share your enthusiasm for the gun. Priced competitively, great ergos, great trigger, and not a single malfunction.
Good video Justin ! I'm glad to see Taurus has improved their quality and still not developed a "Big Head" and jacked up their price on their pistols and revolvers. I'm gonna nab me one of these TX22's just for the pure enjoyment of shooting without breaking the bank. Thanks Justin ! Your seal of approval has earned Taurus another sale.
I picked mine up last Monday. Bought it purely on the videos and reviews as nobody had a word to say about it (except for the barrel problems in the earlier production runs). Was I disappointed? Not in the least! It’s a great gun. My only problem is that it’s so much fun to shoot that time and ammo goes so quick!! If anyone is considering buying this firearm, go get it today, or as soon as you can! It’s awesome.
My tx22 did have a “break in” period of about 400 rounds where I did have quite a few ftes and ftfs. Now it has about 2000 rounds through it and I haven’t had a problem since that break in period. Like Justin, I do love it.
Canik and long rifle. This Taurus is a blast, great shooter, comfortable to shoot. my wife took it to a range class in Tucson the R O s loved it and had other ladies shoot it. The instructors are ordering some for their training.Thumbs up
I picked one up about 6 months ago and my wife and our two daughters love shooting it, they like it more than my Ruger SR22. Haven't had one malfunction , I"ve been using the Remington, Winchester, Federal and CCI ammo
I just got my Glock 44 Friday, so I took that and my Taurus tx22 and a Walther P22 to the range Sat. I am with you i believe the Taurus TX22 is a great weapon. I lubed my Glock 44 and shot bulk Federal out of it and the weapons. I didn't have but one problem and that was the 2nd round on the Glock stove piped. All in all out of the 3 i plinked with the Taurus is so much funner to shoot. The Glock runs out of ammo too quickly and it feels like a Glock. The Taurus feels better in my hands and is an awesome gun. Plus Taurus is 150 dollars cheaper. Definitely the best gun of the year...Great review
I bought one of these, in no small part as a result of your previous review. Just like you, I love mine. It will eat just about anything. Great pistol!
Wilhelm Bubits had a hand in both designs. He is the same person who designed the Steyr and Caracal pistols. The TS9 evolved from his earlier BB6 design.
In my view the main difference between the TX22 and the TS9 is the operating system. TX22 is a single-action pistol while the TS9 is "hybrid-action" like the Glocks
Luiz Alberto Patriota I thought they missed on the G3 by not using more features from the tx22. Good to hear the 9mm from Taurus I really want may be on the way
I picked one up last fall when they were offering the $50 rebate. I absolutely love this gun, it’s very reliable, feels great and the price can’t be beat! I haven’t shot the G44 only held it at a shop but I’d still go with this over any other .22 pistol.
@justin, I love Love LOVE my TX22. I smiled when you said you don't know why you don't take it to the range everytime you go. I asked myself the same thing -- and I started taking it! Great decision on my part.
Justin the New CEO of Taurus has the company going in the right direction for sure the G2C the G3 and the new addition of the Raging Hunter series which I own one in 454 and took a Buck opening day with here in the Hoosier state!
Having the safety as an option is Smart !! Even though I’m not interested in buying one with the Safety, if I were training new shooters, having the safety makes sense for educational purposes !!! MORE THAN 10 ROUNDS SHOWS TAURUS UNDERSTANDS INNOVATION, NOT LIKE GLOCK ??
I have 500 rounds through my TX22 and it's almost perfect, One failure to load running Suppressor and two bad rounds that failed to fire.....I really like it...
After handling a TX22 in a local shop, I felt that it reminded me a lot of my Taurus G2C (except for the weight, of course). The ergos seemed very similar.
I'm glad to see Taurus picking up their game, they got a bad wrap and probably much deserved, but I see their trying to turn that around. we have a lotta options out there now and its a great time to be a guy person
At 4 years later....this one is how I found Taurus pistols. My Tx has maybe 3000 rnds thru it. Really fun. Really accurate. Rear sight goes up & down & slightly left or right. Own 3 Taurus pistols now. Fun factor is a 10 with a TX-22. Keep those ducks a runnin.....😂
thanks for getting back. just won tx22 at my gun club game dinner, and I have a bunch of rem. thunderbolt which I got from midway on sale looking forward to shooting this pistol this weekend!!
You hit the nail on the head. It’s a great pistol. I have this pistol 5000 plus though it 36 grn to 40 grn not one issue. It’s coming in center fire it’s called the TS9 and it looks awesome.
There have been some barrel issues with Taurus TX22. I heard that Taurus was actually replacing thousands of barrels of the TX22 guns sold. With that kind of issues, Taurus definitely knows that they need to do something about the barrel. So I think the barrels have been improved.
Bought month ago in Academy sports and outdoors.. Disassembled gun and barrel defective. Second problem , can not register with Taurus website. "Provided serial number of your weapon does not exist. Please call this number......... " Sent emails with barell pictures , pictures from original receipt , box etc. No answer, call them, on hold for 3 hours, disconnected. Resend email again and call again 4 hours on hold. No any answers.. DISCONNECTED.. AFTER 2 WEEKS CALLING AND SEDING EMAILS - NO ANSWERS!!!!! Come back to store and trying to return gun, but according to company policy all defective gun must go back to manufacturer . What I get now - defective gun (barrel) I am building guns for 35 years and can tell that barrel dangerous to shoot. Gun can not be registered for repair under warranty. Technically speaking this gun does not exist. May be good gun, but if you have any problem you on your own. Taurus dont have service at all.
This was my VERY FIRST GUN.! I got it on January 22nd and put 100rds through it a week later, I can't wait for my next trip to the indoor range! Thanks for the video! Now I would love a suppressor that's affordable! Also why isn't there a center fire. 22lr?
Excellent review about Taurus tx22 And I also of some Taurus G3 know about the behavior of some Taurus G3 with Halo Point And I would like to know if the same thing happens with the TX22. Thank you very much
My local dealer had one, so I grabbed it to reduce costs for range time. Noted he had a couple of the G44’s as well. He still has the Glocks in stock, but the TX22’s are gone. Even if the guns were similar performers, the G44 is $175 more and needs trigger work and sights asap....oh and a plastic slide, seriously?
Thanks. purchased a tx 22 three wks ago. I do like it. Wished the safety lever was like the g2c & g3. Got the g2c also figured id give taurus 1 more chance last year. Would like to see the g3 or a 9mm on the tx 22 style frame. Love the tx 22 ergonomics.
It’s coming in the 9mm. Classic fire arms has it on there site but shows out of stock. Travisp11 done a review about it. It’s called the ts9 check it out.
Scott Winterton I’ve seen lots of reviews on the 44 some good some bad!! My take away is that the tx22 comes suppressor ready and with 16 round capacity plus they already have plus 3 extensions out for the tx22 giving you 19 rounds of suppressed fun
Jeff Dobbs y3s I have got one and it’s a great pistol. But I have heard great things about the new Kel Tech 22 which also has 16 rounds and shoots almost everything also. Lots of good 22 pistols coming out. The little Ruger pocket 22 with 10 +1 is an excellent pistol also.
Jeff Dobbs I’ve been doing some looking into the TX-22 and I’m interested in it but I have to say that the fact that it has an aluminum slide does concern me for longevity. That’s not to say that it might hold up just fine but that is a concern for me. I’ve only shot my G44 with 4-5 types of ammo but so far I haven’t had any issues.
The Walther PPQ 22LR is my all time favorite, and we tested the hell out of it. I Love The Walther PPQ in 22 also in 9mm and even 40 Caliber, but this one looks good in 22LR Justin. If we can get our hands on one we will test the heck out of it and do a Review. I always enjoy your work Sir. 👍🤗🥳😎🇺🇸. Beretta Sr.
I did a video with a loaned PPQ 22LR some time ago, and I have to agree with you that it is incredible. How I've managed to avoid owning one for so long is one of life's great mysteries!
I still with most 22lr pistols always leave 1 round out ,atleast until u have cycled a magazine over 20 times or more basically until mag spring breaks in
I'm @ over 3000 rounds on my TX22 and have yet to clean it . I do oil it every time I go out to the range and it still runs like a Glock 19 with 1 extra round
3 month old TX22 , shot 100 rds or so , keyholing and inaccurate! It does feed with most ammo I shot , cci, Aguila, Remington gold but barrel is now done! Lots of vids on this issue if you look for them. Calling Taurus Monday. 6/13/2022
I would love to try this, but due to the law,a handgun in Denmark has to be at least 21 centimeters in total length to be registered for range shooting.
I bought one several months ago, but after reading the comments I must be the only person to have had a bad experience. I really want to love this gun, feels great , looks great and the first 32 rounds were amazing. Since then I had nothing but double feeds and failures to eject. I was running high velocity cci mini mags and every round I cleared had a huge dent in the casing. I polished the feed ramp but that didn't help, so I sent it back to Taurus to see if they could fix it. They told me it would be a 12 week turnaround, so I'm patiently waiting and hoping I'll be getting a good running gun back. Any thoughts on what you think could have been the problem would be appreciated..maybe the mags, idk?
When I first bought mine. End of last summer. Made the mistake of running cci Thunder bolts. Lead. The Accuracy dropped right out of it. Fouled out the barrel. Cleaned it up & never used them again. Then the cap covering the Threads at the end of the barrel. Kept coming loose. . So I locked tight it. And the roll pins. Just above the trigger. Keeps backing out a little. Some I tap them back into place. But overall. The gun runs pretty damn good. Considering sending it back. But after eating how long it takes. I don't think I will.
hope you don`t get a bad tx22 . mine had a bad barrel and 2 bad mags . leaded so bad it had little lead icles coming out end of barrel. many failures to chamber and extract even after many cleanings and lubes.. sent it to taurus after out of battery explosion that blew out mag and burned my trigger finger . been there 5 weeks no help . i`m sure they have shipped hundreds of new ones since they have had mine . beware of taurus customer no service . accuracy is not that great either, any of my 4 ruger .22 autos work better in every respect . i`m not a taurus hater though and have several others i like just fine ( g2c , 85 revolver ,etc. ) got mad last week and asked them to just send it back . they reply they can not send it without a release from their legal department ,which might might take 12 weeks !!!!!!!!!
What brand of .22 ammo do you shoot through your TX22? Those who say "My TX22 will eat ANY ammo that I put through it", I say BS. I'm getting ready to throw my TX away - it's so unreliable with stovepipe/FTF/FTE. I've tried American Eagle, Winchester M*22 and Aguila. Oddly enough, the Aquila went through the TX22 the best - with 3 failures in 200 rounds. The Winchester was horrible, with an astounding 25% feed/eject/fire failures. I polished the feed ramp (where the flat nosed ammo hung up) and took the magazine apart and cleaned and lubed it with dry lube. I'm going to the gun show on Saturday to pick up a couple of boxes of different brands of ammo and see if my TX is TOO picky with ammo. I can't find CCI ammo anywhere here, so hopefully I can get my hands on some at the show.
CCI in various forms, Remmington bulk, Federal bulk, Armscor, Winchester... that I know of for sure. Various bullet weights and loads. Probably all 40 grain or more, not sure if I shot any lighter stuff. No subsonic. Zero problems/malfunctions. None. Might do a Hed2Hed with the new Glock 44 soon...
I bought a taurus tx22. I shot it with standard velocity rounds, it was fine but with high velocity rounds, the casings would bulge. I sent it to taurus and they replaced the barrel but now I'm using it and it still has the same problem. High velocity rounds have bulges. Does anyone else have this? Is it just not meant to fire high velocity?
Your videos and info helped influence my purchase of the TX22 as well. Got tired of trying to find a P17. The recoil is virtually nonexistent, even for a .22lr. Any idea why Taurus is selling 15 round mags now instead of the 16 rnd capacity mags?
Certainly looks appealing. Nice round count, controls, size, ergonomics. Good reviews. I almost want to pick one up. Maybe I will! My only problem with 22lr is the lack of a proper range to enjoy it. I primarily shoot steel so that means, for me, your typical trees, silhouettes, and racks. Sometimes I even get bored with 9mm, even though half of my favorite pistols are in 9mm, and stick with 40 and 45. I guess if I had a range like 22plinkster I'd be all over it. Maybe I'll grab one anyway. Thanks for the video.
It's about time taurus made a good gun that's worth bragging about. I see keltec came out with the p17 22 lr pistol that holds 17 plus one. Wonder how it compares to the TX 22. Hopefully it is half as good as the taurus.

I purchased this pistol about three months ago. I absolutely love it. I did replace the sights with fiber optic. Thank you for the video.

If anyone is considering buying this firearm, go get it today, or as soon as you can! It’s awesome.
I picked up a TX22 in the compact version last week, had the exact same opinion👍 What a blast at the range😁
My tx22 did have a “break in” period of about 400 rounds where I did have quite a few ftes and ftfs. Now it has about 2000 rounds through it and I haven’t had a problem since that break in period. Like Justin, I do love it.

The TX22 is on my to-do list.

I took this TX and My Kel Tec P17 to the range today and both firearms did well. FUN FUN FUN.
Love mine 2500 rounds no issues take it to the range every time
I bought one of these, in no small part as a result of your previous review. Just like you, I love mine. It will eat just about anything. Great pistol!
I love mine. Can’t help but take to the range everytime I go!
Yes me too
In fact Taurus has already made a TX22 in 9mm. it's called TS9 and we have it for sale here in Brazil.
Yes, I had seen that model on their website. It does look quite a bit like the TX22. It seems we're getting the G3 instead here in the USA.
Larry Funk the ts9 is coming. Classic fire arms has the pic on there site.

Thanks for revisiting the TX22. It's a fun one
Only problem I have with mine, the 16 round magazines seem to run dry awfully fast for 16 rounds. Other than that no problems at all. Love it.
Justin the New CEO of Taurus has the company going in the right direction for sure the G2C the G3 and the new addition of the Raging Hunter series which I own one in 454 and took a Buck opening day with here in the Hoosier state!
Great review. I have this one and the g44. 1000 rounds through each and zero problems with either. I’m happy with both.

I own one without a safety and I love it it’s so sick man best thing I ever did is go from a p11 to this
I have one of these as well.
Shoots Fed Bulk like a champ!
Love it!
I have 500 rounds through my TX22 and it's almost perfect, One failure to load running Suppressor and two bad rounds that failed to fire.....I really like it...
Have a taurus pt92, 627, G2 and G3 and no problems with neither. Since Taurus owns heritage arms, Since 2012, guess I have a Taurus rough rider also.
I’m thinking about buying one, looking for a budget .22 and so far this is the one I am leaning towards
My g44 was disappointing :(

thanks for getting back. just won tx22 at my gun club game dinner, and I have a bunch of rem. thunderbolt which I got from midway on sale looking forward to shooting this pistol this weekend!!
You can upgrade the sights and grips to make this thing really amazing love mine
I have two 9mm auto-loaders and one .40, but, I LOVE my TX22...So much so, I now have fifteen 16-round magazines for it!!! lol
Very good Video. A+. Informative, and concise.
Great review! I purchased one a couple weeks ago and glad I did.

Also why isn't there a center fire. 22lr?
Didn't have as much luck with mine. Constant failures to eject and extremely bad lead fouling. It's currently at Taurus "getting fixed"
Excellent review about Taurus tx22 And I also of some Taurus G3 know about the behavior of some Taurus G3 with Halo Point And I would like to know if the same thing happens with the TX22. Thank you very much
Definitely getting one. Only thing I can't decide on is get one with or without a safety.
I've had bad luck with Taurus but this one looks like a winner!

I have that gun and love it.. sold my other 22 I think it is the best 22 out yet!!
A 22 that shoots like a 9. Well done, Taurus.
Them Terminator glasses is on point 😎😎
We have two TX22s that have been flawless, other than three bad ammo rounds.
Thanks. purchased a tx 22 three wks ago. I do like it. Wished the safety lever was like the g2c & g3. Got the g2c also figured id give taurus 1 more chance last year. Would like to see the g3 or a 9mm on the tx 22 style frame. Love the tx 22 ergonomics.

The shot at the end with the Shepherd and sunglasses!
Just bought 2 love this gun So does my wife
Love mine . But I got the one that came with 10 round mags . I'm going to get some 16 round mags soon .
Yes its a great pistol. Glock really blew it with the new 44. People need to catch up now with Taurus.
busymountain I hope I can say this in a month or so but I haven’t had any issues with my G44.
@@shooterscott Get a TX22 for fun. $251.21 delivered from Classic Firearms. Fun for everybody in the family......jesayin.

Great Video on Taurus TX22 22 Long Rifle shooting Pistol , I like what I see , and I hear the price is pretty good .
I would love to try this, but due to the law,a handgun in Denmark has to be at least 21 centimeters in total length to be registered for range shooting.
The trigger system is from a rifle, that is the secret. It works, it eats everything.
i wish it was sold in CA
I use federal 22lr hollow points 36grane no problems
There are 20000 video on this same gun. They say they have defective barrels now.
Yes centerfire in 45 ACP would be awesome 😁
Thanks for video. When they make it Red Dot capable, I'll be picking one up. How about an addition of .22 Mag. and/or 5.7 to the line?
2WheelManNC lakeline makes a red dot mount I believe it slots into the rear dovetail
Might as well shoot 9mm instead of .22 mag. The ammo is the same price.

I wish there was more mag and holster availability.
Knighthawk6 forged tec makes a kydex IWB and OWB for it. I got the OWB for the range, it’s a well made affordable holster.
did you have a problem with any ammo. how many different ones did you try/
@@JustinOpinionChannel Great! The bulk ammo is probably what most of us are interested in how it performs.
Taurus G2C, G3 and TX22. Handgun company of the year? Whoda thunk?
Eu gostei muito dessa TX-22 😍
Love my TX ..good video ...but whats up with the crazy camera angle switching every 30 seconds ...it's annoying.
I was planning on getting one but am trying to figure out if the barrel issue has been fixed.
Ray Ray yes if you have a generation two, square trigger guard
I am looking at you Glock G44, this is how it's done!
Getting 1 nxt week, $355 with FFl.... corona prices
I keep her loaded with the extended mags, 20 rounds of stangers. Consistent. Follow up shots right where I need em to be.
How do the stingers/stangers run... do they function pretty well??
How do you feel it compares to the SR22?
After watching this video Im going too bye one for my bug out bag lol 😂
PSA has the mags for $19.99
LR Lapua Thanks for that. The one bad thing about this gun is the mags are still hard to find.
And it worked when it came out. They didn't beta test it with us!
19.00 mag
Are you sure you don't mean Glock, the g44 is getting a lot of bad press.
They need to make a 9mm with that same design and call it the TX-9
I have a th9 it’s hammer fired DSA and I love it no problems over 1000 rounds thru it.
Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one! Great gun
You know who deserves the real credit for the TX22’s popularity? The Glock 44.
(Edit) And… I just read your pinned comment. Doh!
I think I am gonna go shoot mine in the basement/range. It is raining hard outside right now
I just bought one.....can't wait to put hundreds of rounds of nickle per round ammo through it.
My TX22 goes to the range with me every time. Absolutely the most fun to go plinking with.
P17 is a 16+1 and from the couple early reviews it's a piece of junk.
Hear the P17 has serious issues, I haven't shot one myself though.
That would be about right for KelTec
