Your channel is so underrated! Your content is so thorough and interesting, keep up the great work. As a visual learner, its nice having someone explain papers/breakthroughs that are hard for me to understand by reading a research paper once. I can def see this channel growing very soon.

I saw a video where it was explained that main reason of skin aging is that elastin is simply stop being produced at some age, and you can not do a thing about it. So you can kind of test it by grabbing piece of skin on your hand and let it go, and count how fast it returned to normal. Old people will have much longer time skin "spread out"
This topic is amazing! It would be good if it was easier to understand, too much technical terms, I’m obliviously not in this realm. Thank you for your job!! It must be very laborious to make this type of video… I’m looking forward to the one made for dumbs like me haha
How close are we to reaching longevity escape velocity? What are your predictions for the future of medicine and biology? (like nanobots, nanotech, limbs regeneration, reverse aging, memory pills, organ printing, cure all disease, etc) Aubrey de Grey predicted in 5 years we will have robust mouse rejuvenation and we will reach longevity escape velocity in 17 years. Ray Kurzweil believes that we will reach longevity escape velocity by 2030 with the help of nanobots.
There was a report that oleic acid as found in olive oil has a much more powerful effect on sirtuins than does resveratrol … 20 times as much. Then I never saw anything else on this topic. Was this report retracted or otherwise debunked?
Sheekey! Happy New Year! thank you for this amazing amazing job in 2020 you did, your videos helped me to finally make a decision to go back to university. But can you give me an advice: I'm confused a bit what major to pick between neuroscience, biochemistry or genetics. My goal is to help humanity to find a way to increase human intelligence, so if you had that goal too, what would you do, what major you picked for undegrad. I allready have cs degree, but i dont like computation neuroscience. TY!
Thank you! And cool! Hard for me to say without knowing what each of your courses cover. I am biased and would say biochemistry, haha, only as i think it provides a good ground understanding (i chose this over genetics in undergrad) - but for what you are interested inevitably you would want understanding of both biochem & neuro. I had a bit of neuroscience in my biochem course (i.e neurodegenerative diseases & regulation of satiety) but am now trying to learn what i can on the side in term of anatomy/consciousness etc. My only advice is to look at what each course really entails and chose the one that most interests you!
this is mostly likely a dumb question but I think someone needs to ask it so hear we go... when it comes to cellular reprogramming to reverse aging I can’t help but wonder if someone could accidentally or purposely use it to transform into a child again I know that would be extreme but when it comes to this new technology I think people should think about the insane potential of the science more because from what I understand that might be possible in the future By the way love your channel it’s cute
Do i think it's possible? - No (though maybe one day someone would look back at this and laugh) Why do i think that? - Cellular reprogramming resets epigenetic marks and returns a cell to an undifferentiated state. This state is very proliferative and result in more cells as opposed to being able to reverse development like Benjamin Button! Development is an intricate process and even attempting to reverse would more likely results in cancer. Hope that helps
Happy new year guys!! What longevity news did i miss?
You did an excellent job this year.
I love the way you describe the difficult science with all the 🎨 Colorful explanation
How about this one on the senolytic effects of exercise: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/acel.13294 I'd love to hear you dive into this one
This years biggest breakthrough for me has been discovering this channel.
My thoughts exactly
Likewise!
2020 was a challenging year in many ways but we made some solid longevity progress in 2020! Great video!
Great video to wrap up 2020! I’m excited for longevity progress in 2021!

NAD+ works already. Amazing stuff.
Excellent information! Best video I have seen on specific longevity, health factors
Awesome wrap-up of 2020. Happy new year!
Nice video as always!
Enjoyed the review, it always seems like 2 steps forward, 1 step backwards with this type of research.
True, but at least there is progress!
Science is hard.

2020 could, when we look back in 10 years, be seen as the ‘start’ of some big movements in the ageing field
You are very clever dear and I find your videos very informative indeed. Johnny

i get asked this a lot, will make a video later this year! :)

Blood dilution was the most interesting one to me in 2020. I hope that was in 2020... The whole year is a blur.
Great review 👍
How do I slow down the speed reading to grasp some of these complex insights?

Do you think we will reach longevity escape velocity within our lifetime? (I am 21 by the way)
This is a topic i hope to cover this year so dont have an answer yet! 😊

So , in summary , r u saying that there was some good progress in 2020 ?
Thank you :)
