- In this video, I look at a John Deere 8RT 370 with a harsh shifting issue, go on a long service call to look at a 7200R with a/c issues and coolant leaks, and give you some updates on my shop projects. You just never know what I'm up to this time of year!

Thanks for the shout out amigo! Can’t wait to have you back on another episode!!
Let’s do it!
Wow, you can hear the ferocious winds in the back ground!
It's a miracle! A 7R that does not need a five digit repair! (...today)
That jam is like Déjà vu all over again. 🤣 You and Brian Sonne have some good songs of the day!
Hey Zeth!
I think the word you are looking for is Blivit - 10 lbs of shit stuffed in a 5 lb bag, this was taught to me by a dear friend who flew B29’s out of Saipan and Tinian on the way to Tokyo, keep having fun!
Wow...some clever engineer designs one of the most sensible accessory drives I've ever seen (rare these days) and then spoils the whole effort by sticking the receiver/dryer in a stupid place! Not usually a JD fan but that drive is great.
Zeth another exceptional video as always. I enjoy watching your videos very informative. Keep the knowledge coming. Definitely look you up at the next one. Stay safe!!
Man, that was windy out there. Too bad it isn't smooth sailing when it comes to broken bolts and extractors. Curious to see how that rescue bit will work out, I could use a couple of those myself. Thanks for the update Zeth!
Zeth thank you for explaining the upgrades on the 6400. My 6400 has 5200 hours everything seems fine I just want to prevent any problems in the future. You showing what you are doing is very valuable to someone like me that just uses it until something happens.
ANOTHER FANTASTIC PHENOMENAL JOB
Great video. It’s always educational to watch you fix the equipment. The content is always good. Love the channel
Another great video Zeath. Can't wait for the next one. Take care.
Thanks for sharing Zeth
Have a great my man.
Thanks for another great video ZK. It was interesting and enjoyable and another great learning tool.
The first tractor you looked at was told to have transmission problems shifting. I agree with you and your analysis. Seems to shift fine although I am not totally knowable on this new equipment. Might need some fine tuning after more use. Use it and report back type of analysis.
Two and a half hour drive. Wow. Some of your appointments are not so easy. That tractor I would be totally lost on figuring out it’s problems, monster of an engine. But in your normal fashion you quickly knew the problems and the fix. You are amazing ZK.
Good job on fixing the issues and cool air AC and coolant leaks. Customer I am sure was pleased with your action and the fact you came from so far. Outstanding customer service!!!’
Will be interested in more information on that extraction device you got. Interesting what they come up with nowadays. More feedback when you use it please. I agree with you that getting a broken bolt out can be very frustrating. You did great with yours.
Was an interesting note that your dad is in the tool and die business. Very interesting work.
Can understand why you are in that business that you are in with your dad’s background.
You take care and be safe.
Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks for everything ZK. Enjoyed riding along.
The Iowa farm boy.
Steve.
Another awesome video!
Great show
Keep up great work Zeth. your videos and especially "how" you make the repairs is very helpful. you can tackle what seems to be difficult repairs with ease. keep em coming.
Another great video.
wow, that wind is really whipping. its fairly windy just north of Denver right now but nothing like there. thank goodness us fluffy guys wont blow away
There were rocks hitting the building…
Haha that reminds of of a day my wife and I were walking to the grocery and it was super windy. In front of us was a tiny old lady who seemed to have trouble walking even on a good day and she could hardly stand in one place in the wind, never mind walk to the store. We went up to her, said hello, and walked on either side of her, one of us as a wind break and one as safety so a gust wouldn't topple her over. We're normal sized and I'm not the tallest, but felt useful as an anchor for the poor lady that day.
Good work
GREAT VIDEO
Great awesome video zeth. Shifting issues that’s not good at all , coolant issues are the worst ,
Nice job Evert from south Africa
Zeth, in regards to your rescue bit. I had a bit I bought from Chromate that was designed for drilling out broken extractors. I was told to drill slow and use cutting paste, not oil. I used it several times, with paste…it was very slow to drill out but it did work. I’m not sure if it’s quicker than using your die grinder, but if you have patience it will work.
This is for high speed 20k rpm so i will use it in my rotary tool
Getthe bearing cooker with water and test the old thermostat if it opens up properly.
I can really recommend Left Hand twist drills for drilling out broken bolts a lot of the time you don't need the tap.
Put your tank in a bucket of hot water to heat your tank up and quick charge
I think you might fall in love with fieldpiece vacuum pump. VPX7
Me and extractors do not get along. Not sure why but in the decades of working on equipment it hasn’t changed. I’m sure it’s something I’m not doing right but have tried everything my co workers do. I do everything I can before breaking out the extractors, it’s rare I sure them anymore.
Not sure if it would help.on little bolts in blind holes maybe try a punch an hammer an hit the head before trying to back out.heat helps if nothing around to hurt but heat i think best as last options.i really don't like drilling easy outs ain't easy at all.Your videos and details are awsome.Thank You Sir.
I like the new Rescue bits. Could you go a little more in detail on them? As in, is it for drills or die grinder speeds. Also, If you look up the company Sanden. I used to work for them. I was a Test Tech for them in the Engineering Department. Meaning I blew up stuff for them. Great Job, Horrible boss. Yet, along what you found on the A/C compressor. We, honest to God found a few times. Under vacuum. They would hold not showing a typical leak. Under pressure, they would leak. If there is ANY moisture marks or spots or indication of not being clean around the clutch nut on the shaft. Just replace the compressor. Working in the Durability Test Lab, we blew stuff up for the engineers when they wanted to try something new, as in bearings or seals or what ever. They never could really explain why it would hold on vacuum and not pressure. But it happened. Just an FYI for you.
I wish I knew your opinion on the 7200R this past fall. Had a full rebuild. Still constant issues.
This guy is the Darrick from vice grip garage but for the agricultural world 😂
👍👏👏
Rolling. blivet Bag.😉
This 8RT is super smooth compared to the 7250R MY2015 that i operate. What was the oil temperature as you tested it? If its around 0 degree Celsius it kicks right in if you shifting in gear, so you really better of using the clutch pedal . Also, if it shifts down from 16 to 15 you notice that the wheels lock for a short time so its really quite harsh. I do hope it gets better when it warms up, but it will need a calibration anyway. Greetings from Germany
Hi, great video again ! I wanted to ask a random qeustion which just came up to me Spontaneous because you have a lot of knowledge about these tractors and you would know the cost and operation and the easiness of maintenance. If money would not be a issue at all, would you buy
1- A 1 track tractor
2- A 2 track tractor
3- A tractor with Tire Inflation System?
Another one!?
E23 transmissions always clunk when shuttle shifting. They drop so many clutch packs and pick up so many from F to R there’s always a bang. Tell them to get used to it.
I pretty much did. It seemed normal to me for an e23
@@ZKMasterTech more than likely they had an IVT before and some saleman screwed up and sold them a E23 lol
Hi, have you tried a bigger drill bit and hence using a bigger extractor? That hole in the bolt was, in my opinion, way too small.
Zeth very well done.do you guys go threw the tractor before they are sold. I worked 30 years at a ford Linc mercury dodge dealer as a mechanic trans and diesel when we got slow we would check in new cars and trucks ford and dodge would pay for 4 hours to check them in to go over them to make sure all was right before they go out the door.sam
Yes we do go through them.
Got to talking so quiet at the end I was wondering if one of the other mechanics fell asleep and you didn’t want to wake him😀
Can you put a link for that broken extractor drill bit
Just search rescue bit on Amazon.
Hey Zeth. I was curious if you know if any of the JD machines have switched over to R1234YF or are planning too.
Not yet
I can’t remember if you have a video on it or not but where do you go to Download heavy wrench podcast?
Are you talking about the certified wrench podcast?
Did you guys sold it new or used? Or is it under an extended warranty?
Sold it used. It’s under Sloans warranty
I have a 2015 s650 combine. I would like to delete the def. What is your opinion on doing this. Motor has 900 hrs.
Why delete it? They don’t have that many Def issues. I don’t think it’s worth the expense.
@@ZKMasterTech s650 has same engine as s660 but s660 has 30 more hp. I would like to tune it backnto 330hp, i was told if delete dep if would use less fuel. True? So better fuel usage and dont have to mess with def. Your opinion?
@@tracyroberts5417 Think he would probably steer away from giving you advise on this subject being a John Deere Master Mechanic. Kind of a touchy subject in today's world. Just my opinion.
Mecano hors pairs
Really enjoy the videos but still aggravates me Deere decided to go with that stupid new Holland way of saying what the tractor is.
5 pounds of crap in a 2 pound bag LOL!!!!!!
