Fun stuff. I like it that Josh also has a sense of humour.
If i had it over again I'd have loved to apply for your apprentiship program. These tractors are sooo cool.
Imagine how much money a manufacturer could make by enlisting the help of master mechanics in the design and construction of their machines. My experience has been that engineers are young and free of any practical experience. And their work shows.
Loved Josh's comment about the acre of dirt in there!
Zeth another exceptional video as always. About time you pass that responsibility onto the other two professionals mechanics. They definitely had a spot on trainer, they're in good hands. Thanks for sharing. Definitely look you up at the next one. You all stay safe!!
Thanks again!
Enjoy your rainy days down in south Texas dry and hot no rain whatsoever
It’s truly amazing at the engineering to make those tractors and also the knowledge you have to take it all apart.
I agree. Isn't a phenomal bit of gear. The engineers are spot on but i imagine with so much going on they only upgrade a little each year. John deer would have soo much info in their file system to draw from. Would be a fun place to be a designer.
Hats off to these lads but. Just thinking about putting all that back together is stressful.
Zeth, I encourage that you not hit on a wrench with the heel of your hand. I have had two friends do severe nerve damage to their hands by doing this. One of them got multiple operations and still ended up with a hand that would not work right and got retired out on worker's comp. because of that damage. The other ended up missing a lot of work because of the injury. You do not need that to happen to you. It can happen so keep a dead blow hammer handy and use it instead of the heel of your hand. Great video!!
I was thinking the same thing. Plus i watch this awesome chinese genius girl mechanic and because she has low power she rips the most stubborn bolts out as you suggest. Turning her wrenches into impact wrenches.
I love watching your jobs!!
Guaranteed I’d have a bolt or 2 leftover on reinstall 😂 nice work 👍
Great video...can't wait for the repair video next !
Amazing skill and teamwork!
Great job as usual Mr. Zeth, thanx for sharing.😃
Thanks for the ride along. Excellent video. Have a great day..
Love the channel, great video. Keep up the great work.
Another good one Zeth!
I like content when tech comes out I know more than I should
Great video really appreciate you taking the time out of your days to make these videos!!
Glad to see this video. Love the channel. Always look forward to the next one. You and Josh work great together
so mind boggling complicated - so impressed with these pros.
Another great vid! Keep the deere's running!
Another excellent video. Hoping we can get to see the repair(s) done to this. Nice to see how teamwork gets the job done. Cheers :)
Boy that’s a big job to get that out great job men
Great video thanks for sharing
I hope Sloan pays y’all well. Your experience is invaluable to them and the customers. Y’all got a lot done in 32 minutes. Lol
Great work guys.
Thank you!
Josh is always funny!
You are highly skilled and qualified to teach and train new apprentices ,great work and videos.
Thanks for sharing Zeth always very interesting 🦘
Zeth again josh an you are both are mister john deere, beautiful job and great team work.
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable.
Wow. Never seen one split before where I could see what all you have to do. Wow. Lots to disconnect and get out of the way. That is a big piece to get out of there.
now to overhaul the transmission. Most interesting process. You and josh work really good together. Nice teamwork.
Thanks for the video ZK.
The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.
whatever they're paying him, it's not enough.........great channel
You would think as much as those tractors cost and as highly engineered as they are they would never break. But anything man made or mechanical can and does break and when they do there are folks like Zeth that can fix them. Man that is a lot of work and to think you are just getting started...
Parabéns seu trabalho é impecável e muito cuidadoso, abraço aqui do Brasil.
Don't complain about the rain! Here in central Texas we are as dry as a funeral drum and nothing on the way.
Hello from Belgium ZK ….nice job 👏👏👏.
Hey, thanks!
Well done sod busters thanks for the videos.sam
Hey ZK ....enjoy the videos. I like the fact that you are very technical while showing the video.
Glad you like them!
You're welcome
For anyone questioning the value of a warrantee…….here’s your sign. 😂
Yeah....you need a “warranty” because they build crap nowadays
@@sawboneiomc8809I wouldn't say that, a tractor these days is wildly different to a tractor 10-15 years ago. Engines haven't necessarily grown so much in size and displacement, but produce much more power and torque. Which consequently can break a lot of things you put behind it. Gearboxes have pretty tight tolerances, while being absolutely filled to the brim with various tech for various reasons, efficiency, strength, fuel economy, etc. This creates room for errors and things to go wrong.
@@sawboneiomc8809 many peoples idea of crap stems from the fact that they can’t fix it with a screwdriver and a hammer.
Love that 1/2 male plug socket. Use it all the time for final drive plugs on bulldozers
Been always interested in hydraulics...kindly explain how the IVT works in the next video...I'll be glad to know that Mr. Mastertech
“cow peeing on a flat rock” 🤣🤣🤣
My grandpa says that lol
Zeth Great video👍 What is going on with these hydros? I hear John Deere going to have a class on rebuilding the hydros. I’ve done 6 8 serious IVT and 10 7R IVT. 7R’s are a pain in the rear.Keep up with the great Work Zeth. Hello From Thomason Tractor Firebaugh Ca
Thank you for taking some time to make this video. It's very interesting. Cow peeing on a flat rock? I've lived in America's Dairyland my entire life and never heard that one. Please stay safe, and God bless.
Very.professional.
Take two large bellhousing bolts and cut off the heads to make nice alignment locating studs
Nice sir.
Exelente
A big New Holland dealer here in Denmark has cranes on all the work stands in the work shop.
The engineering in these new tractors is amazing but with all that comes great cost when repairs are required. The price we pay for our goodies.
The video was fun again. I would like to take your combine training as well. It's a pity because it's only in Japan😢 Next year, the G5 monitor s780 will be introduced for the first time in Japan, so please give me some advice!
Bonjour, très belle vidéo, il faudrait équiper votre atelier d'un pont roulant pour la manutention et pour démonter les pièces mécanique, c'est quand même plus facile !
Nice 😎
Thanks ✌
The amount of work, and how everything is so tied together and so compact is unbelievable. Is there a certain job that words almost not worth fixing due to the expense? Do you have to take so much stuff off and get to the absolute bottom of something by the time you replace it you’re at such an expensive it’s ridiculous.
Tell the Boss you need and want a overhead traveling crane. Had a 10 ton in my Oilfield Fab shop and it was a life saver. Those forklifts will get you killed.
Our shop has an over head crane makes life so much easier
I wonder what the final repair bill will be. So far, 24 hours of labor times $200 per hour is a chunk of change. Then again, what is a tractor worth without a transmission? Farming is not for the faint of heart! Zeth knows what he is doing. The others are just learning. Parts and labor will add up quickly.
An expensive job for sure. He mentioned it's a PIP job, which means "product improvement program" which is very similar to an auto recall. So hopefully mother Deere is footing the bill for this one. But if the farmer was, it could easily be $20-30k. We had the hydro pump replaced on our 7920 IVT years ago and it was at least $12k back then.
As a spanish, seeing all of this machinery is shockingly amazing! i never get to see tractors this big here in Mallorca!
Something got me wondering though, wont the combines get water inside their grain bins/ hoppers (where the grain goes) when it rains if theyre open tops?
do you have covers on all of them?
Thanks for the videos in advance, keep the good job up!
Thanks for watching! There are covers to take off the bottom when it rains to drain
Interesting
You guys need an overhead crane!
Hey Big Man.. just take us along I don't care what your doing :)
Great video as always. How many hours on this machine before it failed ??
Y’all need some overhead cranes in that shop instead of that forklift
At 10:50 it looked like the hoses were chafed by the crap that sat on top of the belly pan?
Wonder what the MST for this is
hola, en que pais esta ubicado tu taller??
Is the ivt worth having or should I stay w/ a power shift?, looking for reliability for years to come. Could you give us an idea of what repair is $$ w/out a warranty? Thank you!
That's a job and a half zeth . A lot of things to remove before
You can even start removing the transmission 😀.
Hope you remember where it all goes back 😂😂
Seems odd that a dealership of the size and prestige of Sloan doesn't have a bigger workshop with a decent overhead gantry crane. Lifting transmissions out with fork trucks is a bit of a lash up. Good content again but I question the reliability of JD IVT's - seen too many of your videos hauling them apart.
That's insane. I didn't notice that on these tractors there is not a frame (or chassis) it's all holding together by the engine and transmission itself.😅
I have a question, Why don't engine manufacturers engineer filter systems for engine coolant? Some downside would be more potential areas for leaks. Would be a pressure drop across a filter, say filter only 10 - 15% of coolant flow. I think it would be a good indicator of the condition of the engine. I am sure there are more drawbacks. I would really like to hear some feedback from anyone. Thank you
Hey give us an update on your compact tractor
It's in my garage ready to go. I put a quick hitch on the 3 point and a ballast box and filled it with sand.
What where the symptoms of this tractor before repair?
Brazilian watching
The skinny little U-bolt on top of the jig makes me nervous. It seems insufficient for the weight it's bearing.
what was the problem on this IVT trans. Why you decide to removeit?
Some great content again there Zeth but I feel for you guys when having to deal with stuff designed by folk who seem to wanna give you some real problems - like when Harrison Ford has to open an old pyramid or something! How about a radio set - headphones and mikes when you're doing detailed extractions with the forklift where Josh has no line of sight? Great hand signals and may be ESP between you but could be improved?
are all the 8370r with ivt getting this pip or just certain yrs, ive been looking at a few to maybe purchase.
,
Its a fix as fail pip. They are almost out of any coverage at all.
Just proves that John deere is one of the most overly complex overly engendered tractor on the market
Why forklift is preferred instead of overhead crane?
Over head crane is not an option. We don't have one.
Do you ever mention how much you charge for your services? Like could we see a copy of the bills.
Sure, there was an acre of dirt. But I just got done pulling the engine out of a trash dozer the other week. Talk about itchy ick!!
Damn, that had to suck
👍👍💪💪💪
How many Hours on that unit Buddy?
They burn out the hydrostatic pump because they’re run at low revs with are heavy load. No different to an automatic transmission
How many hours on this tractor?? Is this a “rare” problem for this machine??
Do you know with everything full, how many gallons of fluid a tractor holds? Gotta be a lot lol
Hallo zusammen, beste Grüsse vom Rheinfall 🇨🇭😇
tractor almost looks new
That transmission looks very expensive
Definitely not like pulling the transmission out of my 1968 VW Beetle.
🇮🇳 Dilpreet 🇮🇳 singh 👍 kang 🙏 Virk 🙏 Kheda 🇮🇳 panjab 🇮🇳🇮🇳👍🙏🙏
Its strange that a professional shop dont hava a overhead crane...its safer and easier than a forklift
Por favor traducir a Español
some of these vidos are not working
That’s nice, but it’s no 4440😂
You said dampener again. It's just damper.
Yeah I do it just in spite now lol.
why did you guys not pyush the engine a couple feet father ahead?i think it would have been easier
Wiring harnesses were at their limit of slack , just a guess .
