That island he's standing on in the second performance... when we were kids going to Lake Tenaya, my cousin, older brother, and I would spend the whole day there, eating trail mix and fighting off our parents with water guns. We called it "Castaway Island." Gives me chills seeing Andrew up there, doing what Andrew does... much love :)
That last zoom out shot had to be incredibly difficult to pull off in a situation where you can’t really do a million takes. The camera starts close but the best I can tell is that he’s zooming in as the boat or whatever he’s on is moving away. His zoom speed is perfectly timed so it appears that it’s a still shot and the only background is the sky so you can’t see the background changing as he zooms and floats away. Then he smoothly zooms out to the wide shot. Then somehow he floats sideways to perfectly silhouette Andrew on the last note. Amazing.
Discovered Blogotheque many years ago bc of Andrew's performance in Paris, I must have watched his Spare Ohs video a thousand times. Glad he's back again.
If this old man recalls correctly, the one with Phoenix in Paris, was my first exposure to Blogotheque. I always try to imagine that I was lucky enough to be there, at the right time to experience it in person.
"Going on a zarda", is a picnic in my local dialect, but it isn't just any picnic, it's the company and the connection to Nature and the planet and our place in it. Well, throughout this version of all these marvelously performed works of art I felt a sense of zarda along with Andrew and simply, that's just all I can ask for. Thank you for the wonderful trip
Saving my soul, and healing me- my dad introduced me to Andrew many years ago, and this reminds me that he is always speaking to me. And he also had an epic whistle. I will miss him forever. But his love never leaves. Thank you ♥️♥️♥️
Literally, one of the most beautiful things I've seen and heard this year so far! What an amazing performance with such a calm and engaging sound and performance right in the middle of a compelling landscape.
When the apocalypse hits, I really need to be wherever these guys are - electricity? Who needs it? Just saw the other video for the first time yesterday, and these are the two most beautiful and amazing music videos, ever. Sincere congrats to Mr Kirstein and his crew. Beautifully captured.
These two need a show! Like a reality buddy comedy kinda thing. We need to see them on adventures and crazy hinjinks and at the end of the episode they learn a new life lesson and they break into a folk song performance!
WOW I keep rewinding to watch this shot. So cool that you don't even realize he's in the middle of the lake until it zooms out at the end. And the sun flare!

Funny you mentioned a zarda.. have never heard that outside of Tunisia! 😂
been listening to these two for ages, so cool to see them playing together!
My question is: have they ever toured together, and if not, why not? I would love a coheadlining show from them with Calexico as the opener.
@@cloudbusting_ they're playing together at red rocks amphitheater in 2022
@@steamboatt8688 And many other places too!
This and the other post (I&W ft. Andrew) are both incredible. Made my day.
Two Legends for sure! It was great to see each of them do a song together and then a solo song after 💯
Andrew's music is a national treasure. I've seen him in concert twice, and each time was a magical moment in my life.

Green Goddess, he’s still alive and playing. Get out and find one of his live concerts.
this duo makes me happy
The mountains are my happy place and I haven't been there for a couple of years. This performance makes me feel close to them

just tunning his instrument this man makes magic
Picking up a distinct George Harrison and Traveling Wilburys vibe. Warm and authentic.
Magnifique. Yinz are on to something here. Film now, while these beautiful spaces still exist. "There will be snacks."

Damn, Sam's poor mama had to push that big ol butternut squash head out her cooch, lol. Ouch. Love the man!
3:34 For a moment i thought they were walking on the water like Jesus.
Cowboy chords as they were meant to be heard.
Two bards just doing their thing on that old dusty trail.
Invite eef barzelay pleaaase....
What happens when you blend the styles Dylan, Lennon &mccartney, lou reed, and Anthony keidis.
La Blogo + Bird + I&W in Yosemite... Does it get any more hipster than this? Jk I love it
The bird is word. Have you not heard?
Lord
sigh. andrew bird is a ridiculously beautiful man.

I might be full of shit but Sam looks a tad like Ansel Adams.
Shut up an take me money
is andrew married?
Manifest...
An ode to our planet ❤🩹
I can hear her, how her tendrils are digging.
Whispers death in our ears..
Don't pretend you can't hear..
