Love your videos inspired me and my friend to make our channel! I fish the park a lot. I live in muskoka and have been working in the park and I’m excited to do some brookie fishing!
That’s so awesome to hear!! We’re glad we’ve given you some inspiration! Keep it up and the growth will come! I’ve been fishing it my whole life and grew up just outside of the park also, and worked in there as an Interior Ranger for 2 seasons. Get after them and post some videos, I subscribed so I’ll be watching!
Hi Guys just want to let you know I ve watched ever video you have made and each one is better than the last You are doing a great job and you are showing great sportsmanship. Grandpa Don't👏
That’s awesome Nic, glad you’ve been enjoying the content and I hope you’ve picked up a couple tips! If you want anymore advice feel free to reach out on Insta or Facebook on our accounts there and we can chat about your loop you have planned!
Hey Brandon another great video Thank you for sharing. I have a few lures that you’ve suggested but definitely heading out and buying your line up I like the Rapala, always had pretty good luck the the silver and the perch Again thank you for sharing Greatly appreciated
Thanks for the comment! I have out Amazon links to most lures in the video description also if that helps! 😁 All of those lures work amazingly! I’ve had a few guys mention rapalas now and that’s one things I’ve never really used for Brookies, but definitely gonna start! Thanks for watching and supporting 😁
I notice on panthermartins the body will eventually move up pressing the wire out. Once it's done that the blade will stick. I tried bending them back but very little success. Blue fox tend to not do those types of things. I feel you get way more use out of them compared to panthermartins but they produce fish so I keep buying them. Just learned to buy a couple at a time.
Thanks for the video Brandon! Hopefully I can get into the park this year! I love the silver Blue Fox but the Black Fury, especially in the chartreuse colour, is HANDS DOWN my favourite!! Might be the nostalgia around it but I throw it a lot! The last few years I have been throwing swimbaits on jig heads for brookies...a lot easier than dealing with live/salted bait IMO and the baits can generally last multiple fish.
Thanks for watching!! I appreciate it! I hope you can too, it’s always so worth it regardless of the fishing results! Always new water to explore! I have a few chartreuse, it’s important to always try different colours and see what works! I’ve never used swimbaits or rubber baits for trout but have had a few guys mention it!
Stream trout fisherman from Michigan. Worms are the go to but some streams are gear restrictions so for those stretches I use panther martins in gold or yellow with red dots
Just subscribe. Great stuff and feels genuine. A "spone" I allways keep with me for the smaller lakes is a Kastmaster. Vluenand silver. They cast a mile and the Brooke's love them. Cheers boys.
I really enjoy your videos. You are truly blessed to have access to such good fishing. I occasionally fish for brook trout here south of the border but its not that good and the fish are small. Glad you share some of your lure choices. I am curious if you prefer any particular color black fury spinner ( yellow, chartreuse, or red) and are the dressed ones more sucessful than the plain hooks. I have never caught a trout on one of those here for some reason. I mainly use flies but have some luck with roostertail spinners.
@TheAverageJoesFishingShow holy friggin right theyr bruisers!!! Those r epic!! Shed hunting and finding dead heads is the best friggin thing, ya find one trout fishing and the whole day is pure gold.
@TheAverageJoesFishingShow dude u should come down lake ontario ways, the bows average 20 to 35 inches, some can be absolutely monsters, roe is the key

@@TheAverageJoesFishingShowwow that’s awesome. Thank you very much it means so so so much to me!
Fantastic video brother, great choices on lures. Never go wrong with a ridgeback wobbler!
Thank you sir! Appreciate that 😁 They’re a staple of Algonquin trout fishing that’s for sure!

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Been fishing the park for 50 years for specs and Lakers and our tackle boxes are very similar.
Thanks Steve, appreciate the kind words buddy! You must’ve have hooked into a few good ones in that time!
I fish streams and ponds in the Adirondacks. I use mepps, panther martins, and rapala countdown. I really like those for artificial lures
Sounds like we’re on the same page with lures! How’s the fishing in the Adirondacks? Much size there?
Solid info, dude. Every spring, I'm always thinking of brookies and splake. I suck at catching them. This is my new favorite channel.
You’ll learn! Just take one step at a time! Really appreciate the kind words buddy!

I haven’t noticed that myself, but they are a deadly little spinner for sure! Blue foxes are a bit more rigid!
HOLY MACKEREL ur poppin off my man 👏🔥
Thanks Adrian! It’s been a good couple days so far 👍🏻
I will be in Algonquin in 8 weeks for May 2-4, thanks for the tips. I'll be looking out for a couple of Average Joe hosers....
No problem Nick, we’ve got lots of plans as well after opener! Keep an eye out for us, we’re gonna be all over this season for the first two months

I love hook and worm fishing, always so reliable and even the least active trout will grab them!
a bright red croc works very well
Awesome, thanks for that I’ll look it up!
One of the EGB’s you use is the #204 i have 3 of those in my tackle and i caught my largest trout on them
They’re good little lures, definitely would be good during a tough bite for their small size! I just got the trolls in the mail today, thanks Curt!
Awesome video lads!
Thank you sir!
Try a Lucky Strike rudder in front of your Hildebrant Spinners, they will reduce line twist 100%
Thanks buddy, I’m definitely gonna try this. So frustrating being backcountry and having to respool every day! I appreciate the tip!!
@@TheAverageJoesFishingShow take a rudder off one of my trolls
Lucky Strike makes the tiny ones which are great for the willow leafs
I honestly didn’t even know those were a thing until now, thanks for the help!!I’ll try the ones from yours!

Thanks for the sub!
To prevent line twists, I stick with ball bearing swivels. Seems to do the trick for me.
Thanks buddy, I’ll try it out!
I got fully fluffed when I saw the title of this video
Haha I’m not sure if fully fluffed is a good or bad reaction?!? 😂😅
Do you ever use the orange moeps black fury lure? Ive used the yellow one and had success.

how do you prevent losing those lures lol XD
Good line and well tied knots haha
Surprised there ain't any blue fox minnow vibrax patterns in there
Blue foxes are great in general, I definitely support trying different colours and patterns though!
I think you forgot the Len Thompson 5 of Diamonds.....😉
I’ve caught a few lakers on them but never a speck! You like that one for Brookies?
Yes, try the 1/4oz
I’ll definitely giver a whirl!
Red/Yellow or Black/Yellow are usually pretty good
Duuude. Holy frekin beast bucks on the wall!! Are they all yours
Every buck you see there is shed antlers! They’re all ours yes, but they’ve been put onto skulls after being found! There are some bruisers there haha
@TheAverageJoesFishingShow holy friggin right theyr bruisers!!! Those r epic!! Shed hunting and finding dead heads is the best friggin thing, ya find one trout fishing and the whole day is pure gold.
You’ve got that right haha My dad has been collecting sheds for 45 years, so we have a few 😉 Most people’s jaws drop when they see
what about lures for eater fish tho?
ball chain swivel
Thanks for the tip!
Bare hook and a worm always get the job done
It’s a deadly combo and simple and cheap! One of the best!
Whats your biggest rainbow trout brandon?
Never caught a wild rainbow believe it or not 😅
