Heck yeah made the top 5! I really enjoy the underwater aspect of this video it adds a whole new lever to watching the ice fishing videos! Thanks for sharing!
So awesome Tyler. I really look forward to seeing your newest videos. I'm already a better fisherman because of your in depth knowledge! Thanks and hope to run into you one of these days,.
Awesome video. I’ve been trying to dial in my brooke trout ice fishing and your tips really help. Quick questions…what level of the water column to you typically find them (on bottom, mid, etc)? Also, do you often find them shallower
Almost always tightly associate with the bottom. Early ice season I find them shallow, less than 10', but they will move out deeper late ice season but typically never deeper than 20'.
If you were to upgrade from your humminbird helix on your pdl would you still go with humminbird? Also what is the largest lithium battery you think will fit in the 120 pdl hatch. I know its a smaller hatch but im hoping to use my amped outdoors 100ah without taking space in the back.
I haven't but I've used blade baits which are essentially the same thing with great success. To be honest I just avoid Mack's stuff because they did me wrong several years ago.
have you ever used a dodger as an attractor for ice fishing? there is a local outdoors host that uses them and he seems to do okay. I've never tried it but the concept makes sense to draw fish in.
How far do you need to drive to reach these lakes? I can use a government website here in Ontario, Canada to filter by species or body of water to find fishing opportunities, but this Winter and last have been unkind as far as ice conditions go. I think this year I would need to drive at least 5 hours to find good ice. Locally, my ice season seems to be over already after just a few days of good conditions. 😢
As a state biologist it would be great if you could mention state regs, or mention that you can not ice fish brook trout in all states. Good stuff, just a battle I deal with. Thank you.
Hello, i make ice fishing lures in sweden. would you be interested to try one out? you dont need to have it in any video or anything. i just would like to know if they are effective in other places to.
Been thinking about taking a drive to higher lake with some big brookies in it but. ehh I got a good lake not even 30 minutes away. BTW what is the deal with Molson Lake? I saw a video of you fishing it but NEVER see anybody out there and was told it was no good? any opinions on that?
ahhh of course. I should have payed more attention and connected those dots haha. thanks, my dad and I love your videos they have helped us so much out here.
Great video. Early ice brookies are my favorite. I love suspending frozen shrimp under a bobber for them.

Well done sir! Thanks for taking us along!😁👍
The white tube jig is my go to for pretty much anything through the ice🎉
Another great demonstration!! Keep posting, I’ll tune in.
Great scenery with the snow, awesome bite on those weather days, gets em fired up
That was so awesome! I love sight fishing! Thanks Tyler for making the effort!
I've been fishing kastmasters my whole life and just recently started throwing up to 2 oz in the salt for salmon from the beach the y all work😊
Wow Smashed that rattle bait! That was some of the best footage I’ve ever seen! Awesome stuff!
That first fish came in super hot!!! Love the kastmaster!
great video! Love the underwater camera/viewpoint!!

That hyper glide with wings is awesome.
Love that hook! I've tried it and they love it at Barbe Lake, MB 🇨🇦🤘
Love how aggressive they're hitting! So cool
They are wild sometimes!

Great video! I liked the underwater camera.
Do you have a favorite time of day for Brookies? I seem to have my best results in the morning.
Yes morning and evenings are best.
I’ve never been ice fishing, looks like fun. Are you going to be at the Washington sportsman show this year? Thank you for your videos.
No I don't do the Sportman's show...mostly because they don't invite me LOL
Come on Tyler...Roosevelt giant kokanne are calling your name. I need inspiration for when my kayak is delivered lol.
Its on the agenda if the rain, wind, or subfreezing temps give it a rest.
Yummy!! Brookies on a stick over a fire!!
where aare you locatedd tocatch these nice brookies trout great video

Yup I'd stick with Helix. You can get way more than 100ah with the FPV lithium batteries but all you need is 10 ah for a day on the water
I'm not a ice fisherman but was wondering if you've tried sonic bait fish? I've used them for trout jigging from a boat and the work well.
I haven't but I've used blade baits which are essentially the same thing with great success. To be honest I just avoid Mack's stuff because they did me wrong several years ago.
What tube jig were you using?

Is that neoprene you have on under your wool fingerless gloves?
Nitrile

Works great for Kokanee. I don't think it is needed in most of my trout fisheries.
Those fish were coming in HOT!
Every single one!

Not far an hour up in the mountains

I may be mistaken, but is that second big buck the same as the first? or do they all have trashed tails?
Different fish. A lot of them in this lake get tails like that.

Low density trout fishery. You won’t catch many in a day, maybe 1 or 2 but they will be big.
ahhh of course. I should have payed more attention and connected those dots haha. thanks, my dad and I love your videos they have helped us so much out here.
that triple hook will get you a nice fine in British Columbia
BC fishing rules are dumb
@@spiltmilt agree and they love to fine people
Красава!
