Hey buddy! Awesome running into you as well out there and chatting! You win some and lose some, last year we did 6 days with barely a bite! 😂 Thanks for actually checking out the channel again! Keep an eye out for more soon!
Nicely done boys! Headed out tomorrow for some trout up that way. I think I’ll have to venture into some of those unknown off the beaten path lakes…you know, Ron Jeremy deep lakes 😂
Ive graphed out trout length vs weight before. On average 20 inch fish are around 4lbs. 22 inches on average they start to exceed 5lbs. This is by no means an exaxct way to measure fish, but is fairly reliable based on a large data set from Maine. Nice fish! hope i can get myself into some like that this year.
If the trout had a real big girth then for sure. I never got a girth on this one but would guess 11-11.5”, which would put it in between 3-3.5lbs. The girth is the big difference maker for sure on trout, every quarter inch of girth adds a lot of weight overall! Lyle caught a 22”x12.5” this winter that was about 4.25lbs. Any Brookie over 20 inches is definitely a trophy, and it’s easy to overestimate on size, that’s why measuring is crucial to getting an accurate size estimate. I’m glad you’re aware of this and take it into account when sizing fish! I’m hoping to get into a few more fish this size or bigger this upcoming season! Best of luck out there Ian!
@@TheAverageJoesFishingShow you're completely correct. Girth is just as import as length for estimating weight. Unfortunatly my data set didn't include girth.
How did you guys meet? I’m almost 30 and still haven’t found a fishing and hunting buddy everyone’s too much of a princess to carry a boat through the woods now
We met in college, took the same program and hit it off over chats about fishing and hunting. Then Lyle moved up my way after college and now we’re Fishing partners!

Farmers only
We met in college, took the same program and hit it off over chats about fishing and hunting. Then Lyle moved up my way after college and now we’re Fishing partners!
Not farmers here haha Just rednecks 😂
Husband and I just carried an 80lbs pelican into Lake mckaskill (mc ass kill) and I had no brookies sadly)
Just today I hiked into a small stream in southern Ontario and found tons of small and medium sized brookies .. I got about 20 in the net
Awesome job congrats!
Just have to finish a frame repair and the front diff on my jeep and I’ll be deep in the park as well
Algonquin Uber? Lol
base camp happen to be burntroot? lol
No sir it wasn’t!
are you guys not worried about bears cougars and wolfs on your walk thro the bush?
Not scared at all no, they are more scared of people then people are of them, by the time you may notice one, they’ll be long gone.
@TheAverageJoesFishingShow tell that to the ppl who were murdered by bears there...
Lyle will you marry me
Evan, he clearly has a ring on his finger already, so if you’re interested in a piece of the Average Joes, I am single 😘😉
