    COMPACT SIZE - HUGE PUNCH
    The Godox AD400 Pro takes the popular AD600 Pro and shrinks it down in power and size while still maintaining all the pro-level features. It's only 8.6 inches long. That's the size of a water bottle and is our smallest Bowens/Strobepro mountable strobe ever! The AD400 Pro destroys the competition with features, reliability, accuracy and price.
    THE STROBEPRO DIFFERENCE
    Strobepro is the largest distributor of Godox products in Canada. Give yourself peace of mind with Strobepro's professional helpful staff, 2-year warranty, and Calgary-based service centre.
    AUTOMATIC TTL
    Tired of adjusting settings in tough lighting conditions? Then let the AD400 Pro do it automatically for you. Set it to TLL mode and fire away with perfect exposures in any lighting condition. Weddings, party's, or outdoors, TTL is a lifesaver.
    BATTERY POWERED
    The advanced lithium battery made by Panasonic is designed for performance. It will recycle 400w/s in 0.9 seconds. The AD400 Pro will give you 390 full power shots.
    GODOX/STROBEPRO X SERIES WIRELESS
    One controller to rule them all. With its built-in receiver, all you need is a radio controller for full TTL & HSS remote power control up to 300 feet away.
    2 YEAR STROBEPRO WARRANTY
    Ever had a problem with something you've bought online overseas? Good luck getting that fixed. We're a Canadian company with a Canadian warranty, right here in Calgary. When you purchase from Strobepro, your AD400 Pro is backed by our Strobepro 2-year warranty.
    9 STOP POWER RANGE
    Dialling down all the way to 1/256 power allows you to shoot wide open with even your fastest glass. 400 watts of power on the other end allows you to overpower the sun, even at midday. From babies to fast action outdoor sports, you're covered.
    HSS (HIGH SPEED SYNC)
    The AD400 Pro supports HSS, allowing you to unlock your whole shutter speed range where you'd otherwise be limited to your flash sync speed. This is typically used to bring down ambient light when shooting with fast apertures, but it can also be used to freeze fast action in competing light.
    WIRELESS FREEDOM
    No power wires, no receiver wires, gone, outta here. Experience the freedom that shooting with no wires creates. Seriously, it will change the way you shoot forever.
    STABLE COLOUR
    The AD400 Pro is dead accurate across the entire power range, with a colour variance of +/-75K when set to the colour stability mode.
    LED MODELLING LAMP
    The new 30W LED modelling lamp is bright enough to help find focus easily.
    FITS ALL MODIFIERS
    The AD400 Pro fits all Strobepro and Bowens modifiers.

    Love mine. Word of advice, there is a washer within the handle pivot that does not provide enough friction for large modifiers. The weight will cause the device to slip down slowly. Simply pull the handle apart, yank out the spacer and replace it with one or two rubber washers. It cost me less than $3.00 and solved the problem in a few seconds. I hope Godox will realize this problem and swap out the plastic for rubber washers.

    Fantastic breakdown of the AD400 and remote trigger, all of their controls, and how they interact. I’ve had mine for 2 months and had NO idea about the extent to which I can control them, let alone how to ACCESS these controls. The manual that ships with the unit covers literally only about 10% of what you explain and beautifully demo here. I’m so glad I found this. Thank you!!!

      The process for pairing your AD200 Pro is very similar, but we go through the whole button layout.

    Very thorough presentation. I wasn’t aware of the manner in which the reflector separates from the bowens mount.
    I believe ‘prop’ represents proportional and ‘inter’ means intermittent, regarding the modeling lamp in menu.

    good tutorial, and good last tip, one way to think of this is, this is akin to the CMD or commander menu in flash controls, in the camera, BUT as you point out, they don't converse and change each other, TRIGGER has the priority, NOT the flash itself.

    This is a great video. If you want to know how to use light and trigger this is perfect. No BS, no talk of oh this is how the 200 works or 600 works. I watched plenty of videos til I found this and this by far the best teaching video. This is my first light and controller so I’m slightly overwhelmed by it but same time excited to be using and now I have confidence to move forward. Thanks!

    On top of the battery there appears to be lights but mine don't seem to light up. Are they supposed to light up and indicate battery level?

    • @Strobepro
      @Strobepro  Рік тому

      Hi Jim,
      The widest light doubles as the battery test button. It is somewhat recessed, so you'll have to press it with your thumbnail. Once you press the button, you'll see the lights come on indicating your battery level.

    Great video! Read twice the manuals (both X400 pro and R2 transmitter), still not clear. But this video help me understand better. One question: on TTL mode, the power level (FEC) on X400 does not change with the R2 transmitter. On manual mode, there is no problem. thanks for the help.

    • @Strobepro

      That is correct. The power change will not show on the strobe in TTL but it will change it.

  • @rhw2005

    At 30:38 you introduced TTL on the controller. Any TTL exposure compensation set on the controller is not displayed on the Strobepro, i.e., they are not in sync at that point, any idea why? Will the Strobepro still use the value set on the controller even though it doesn't show it?

    • @Strobepro
      @Strobepro  3 роки тому

      Hi Roger,
      Great question! In manual mode, the controller always overrides the strobe, so exposure compensation in TTL is actually counterintuitive.
      Exposure compensation on your strobe and the controller are actually cumulative.
      This lets you set a baseline calibration for the strobe. For example, if you find that TTL tends to underexpose by 1/3 of a stop with a specific camera, you can set the exposure compensation on the strobe to + 0.3. If you have no exposure compensation set on your controller, the TTL system will still use +0.3 EV of exposure compensation. Hope that helps!

    Hello.
    Could you tell me if AD400Pro has a modeling light or torch? My question is a consequence of buying AD100Pro and AD300Pro, with which I'm very disappointed. In contrast to AD600Pro they have a torch instead modeling light. The LED light doesn't turn off during flash exposure. In consequence - static objects inherit color cast from LED lamp. Moving objects have visible motion blur or "ghosts". It happens of course at low power of flash and bright "modeling" light. All this is unacceptable in this class of equipment.
    AD600Pro has option to set modeling lamp as interruptible. AD100Pro and AD300Pro - haven't. LED light is blending together with flash light. Forget about macrophotography etc. Sure, we can turn off modeling light, but how to take pictures in complete darkness? Should we buy a night vision device?

    • @Strobepro
      @Strobepro  2 роки тому

      Hi Marek,
      The AD400 Pro's modelling light functions identically to the modelling light found in the AD600 Pro, and can be set to "INTER" from the menu.
      What you're talking about can definitely be a concern at close distances or with long exposures. In most shooting scenarios, a blackout exposure can be obtained even with the modelling light remaining on for the whole exposure. Still, we're not exactly sure why Godox doesn't let the modelling light switch off in all of their models.

    •  2 роки тому

      @@Strobepro Hi,
      I started unluckily with macro photography with multiple flashes using the AD100Pro. In this case short distances from light source are typical. The workaround was to make pictures in complete darkness, where you can't see what you are doing... or utilize another flash (eg V860III) as source of modelling light only. FYI it is possible to disable flash triggering and use modeling lamp - it will turn off when other flash source is triggered.
