I hope items don't have a billion part combinations on them. I like hunting rare stuff, but knowing your odds are non-existent for getting the item combination you're looking for feels bad.
I like how in BL3 the parts were not as important, as in BL2... U could farm for god roll if you wanted, but any other drop would more than suffice in the end game
The general rule is that it's better to have a rare drop that's good when you get it, than a consistent drop that you need to get lucky on to be truly viable. Anointments definitely violated that rule and went way too far. Though IMO it's ok for godrolls to be very hard to get when it's like a ~5% or lower efficiency improvement. Eg. if there was a gunsmithing system that lets you swap out gun parts, so you can pick up a few copies of a legendary and mash their parts together to make your godroll, but an organic drop is always a little stronger than the crafted version
Could say the same for passives on class mods and relics. Never understood how UA-camrs get god rolls so easly. I've played bl3 on and off since launch and never once have I gotten a god roll relic/class mod to drop.
I have said this before and I will say it again. If you use immunity phases because you want the boss fight to also tell some kind of story, sure go ahead. But when I go back to FARM that boss, skip immunity. So immunity phases are fine if you're doing the story mission, but once you're done and you go back to farm, just skip the immunity phases.
No point hijacking a vehicle on Mayhem 10 to complete your missing vehicle modifications if the enemy destroy it before your character's even got in the driver's seat. L to Gearbox for that.
@@xxTICxxTOCxx Maybe someday they'll learn how to scale difficulty levels in ways that don't just plain break certain gameplay mechanics, but I'm not holding my breath. Endgame Moze's explosion damage insta-nuking Iron Bear if her explosions touch it at all, because her explosion damage eventually vastly outscales Bear's health so much, is a similar problem. But even more annoying if you're a Moze main, since Iron Bear isn't limited to certain maps.
YES!!!!! The cars are fine at low to mid levels, but at level 72 and mayhem 10 or 11? Just say goodbye to your car, it can't deal damage and is as durable as a toothpick.
@@peterbullock5997 Their money, their choice. 🤷♂ And you don't know that's what would happen at all. There are plenty in the community who will play through the game as every playable character. So more playable characters can't be a bad thing.
We want a good story with interesting and compelling characters. Borderlands 2 was one of the best games ever made because it combined witty, loveable characters with dark dystopia themes and it was fun to play.
We were in a good place with skippable cutscenes. But please please PLEASE let me skip dialogue. Nothing made me want to give up BL3 than the non-cutscene cutscenes
Indeed, I prefer to trigger a quest and walk away. Hate waiting next to the npc and grab a quest item he gives me after 5 min talking. In solo you cannot even check your skilltrees or items since it pauses the game.
I was going to say this too. Not even skippable dialogue necessarily, but when you talk to someone it should just INSTANTLY activate your quest. If you want the lore you can CHOOSE to sit there and listen to them yap, if you want to just play and progress you can move on. hell we have the echo they can yap to you while youre mid quest just fine. and if you activate a new dialogue option by mistake... Oops, maybe have the quest interactions and lore all held as an option under the quest in the menu?
This. I loved Brick, Krieg and her Zer0. Amaras skill tree was actually great - but she had no range for the bosses, and melee couldnt crit as it auto-aimed for centermass with no way to fix. This hurt her even more in mayhem mode. I did an entire playthrough and breezed through mobbing even on lower mayhem stages. Except Bosses wich took one and a half hour at minimum to complete per ranged boss. Though I'd argue mayhem mode was taken way out of proportion compared to OP10 in BL2.
If they want to add immune phases to boss fights there should be other enemies around for you to deal with. I don't know how borderlands hasn't gotten that right.
Yeah, enemies, mechanics, etc, even a simple "oh no, these four pillars are making the boss imunne to all damage, destroy them", would be better, cliché? yes, but it's much bettter than just standing around doing nothing lol.
A Boss fight can have an immunity phase, *_BUT_* there needs to be a way for the player to knock them out of it, or make the immunity make sense. Kill some enemies that are shielding the boss as it tries to heal, have the boss deploy drones to cover it while its RELOADING its main attack, knock out/fix a machine that is needed to make the BBG vulnerable while dodging turrets, JUMP INTO the monster to take out a device or organ. Make it something that you work fort but not so infuriating it makes people want to throw a controller through their TV!!!
I also don’t want to see bosses have such big loot pools. Main bosses just need one or two dedicated drops, no world drops, and all named enemies should have a dedicated drop to spread them round evenly
World drops should still exist imo because potentially finding a Legendary in a random toilet is part of the fun of this type of game. Just make sure the world drops aren't exclusively world drops and have some sort of designated spot to farm them.
Hear me out: cosmetics are still legendaries but they are removed from the loot pool as you collect them. That way, chasing cosmetics improves your loot luck as well.
I really don't want them to have the bl3 vault hunters be random side characters like zero, axton, and sal. They need to be like a family and work together, pissed me off when zero didn't even get a voice line about mayas death
100% agree, I think Mass Effect 3's Citadel DLC did a great job of showing you that as well as your Shep making friends with the cast, they also made great friends with eachother. It would have been really good to have seen this 'family that worked together' in Borderlands.
While I agree bl3 messed it up and bl2 didnt do a superb job, alot of the promo and dlc's show that they do function similair to a dysfunctional family
Number 6: Stop with cosmetics being random drops, or at least dedicated drops. But what it should be is objective based unlocks for cosmetics. Kill a ton with fire dmg, get a nice red skin. Kill a raid boss, get a badass skin in the same theme as the raid. This way we can hunt for not just weapons, but cosmetics.
I wouldn't mind random cosmetic drops if they also have dedicated sources. You can get the sham anywhere, but if you are looking for it, you go to the Bunk4r. Same should apply with cosmetics. Also, if legendary cosmetics exist, give us an option to turn legendary cosmetics off on the minimap
Not every character has to crack a joke 24/7! I recently replayed BL3 and wow is it noticable. Please give us more serious characters! I may be wrong, but it definetly felt like BL2 was a bit more serious in tone.
Definitely. They still crack jokes and don't always land, but they always bring the serious tone into the mix, instead of being separate like BL3, or basically "just" jokes like New Tales.
Nah jokes are fine, that's core borderlands. But the delivery of the jokes is the problem. after TPS it was a lot more zany. But there has always been outliers like Tiny Tina, who really hasn't changed much besides being louder.
Yeah wow...the casting of that movie was beyond terrible: -Kevin Hart is too much of a child to play the ultra serious Roland. -Tilda Swindon is too serious to play the ultra sarcastic Lilith. In Thor Ragnarok, every character, even Anthony Hopkins had some funny lines...not Tilda, not a single funny line for her in the entire movie. -I've got nothing against Jack Black, but Claptrap's voice is iconic, just hire the voice actor from BL2. -Jaime Lee Curtis as Tannis, are you f'ing kidding me? Another very serious actor who couldn't, on her best day, relate to a woman who loved Clork the ceiling chair. -And from what I saw of the trailer (i refuse to watch the movie), the girl playing Tiny Tina was saying crap that any normal 15 year old would say in those situations...she wasn't zany or psychotic at all. Tiny Tina could have also been played by the original voice actress (she also was Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn). -No Brick, No Mordecai, and most importantly NO JACK...why bother making the movie at all? The movie doesn't appear to be written for anybody, least of all the fans of the franchise.
I 100% expect to see in them in BL4… as an Easter egg likely dead. “Something something… man these decoy look like pour cosplay imitations, can’t believe X thought they were actually us.”
@@Mad-rg9sz I thought the exact same thing!! I’m sure tons of Fans of the franchise were disappointed when we got the Calypso twins and not just for this reason…
I somewhat agree (coming from a bias opinion of someone who absolutely loves him) i'd much rather them make a new villian for sure 100% (Randy confirmed its someone new) But he was just so well written i'd love to see him appear in a side quest or two. Like in Borderlands 3 on pandora the side quest that talks more about angel when she's a child with jack in it or echo logs in the handsome jackpot with him in. Same as Borderlands 2 with checking up on his Grandma where you see with the buzzaxe how she abused him. Just little things that give even more lore into him in my opinion. Definitely agree with wanting a new villian just hoping he's gonna be good.
@commanderblack5045 great point, although he's "not" jack he is "jack" lol I'd love to actually see a return of him because after the jackpot dlc he just dissappears
And why in all hells did Lilith leave her in charge? Give the reigns to tannis, ellie, moxxi you at least have someone who understands the raiders and has some life experience. But ava? Tf does she know?
Good list, but one thing I would add; whatever they end up calling the end game progression (OP levels, Mayhem...etc) limit the number of levels to a reasonable amount! No hundred f'ing Chaos levels like in Wonderlands please!
@@kyledea187mdkjr5I enjoyed it having to proc an enemy with something before being able to do notable damage in the endgame is a interesting mechanic. It also added a tiny skill ceiling. As a kid I didn’t understand slag at all until I was in like freshman year.
@@Gruntz199 The problem is that kind of design should be baked into Vault Hunters' kits as a playstyle if you like using it, not something _everyone_ is forced into doing.
@@Gruntz199 Its is a cool mechanic but should be limited to maybe a few enemies or something. or even make it so you have to proc a shield with electric to do more damage, then proc flesh with fire / radiation to do more damage. @@darthvaderreviews6926 that one vault hunter/skilltree would be seen as inferior if that were the case because then every other vault hunter would be doing huuuge damage for free while you’re the only one having to proc enemies. People just wouldn’t use it.
A fix I'd propose for the "talk to X" problem is to have a call system built into the ECHO menu. We already have NPCs talking to us over the ECHO the second we leave the room, let us call them to continue the plot along. I get that they want us to go to specific places so we can watch stuff happen but on multiple playthroughs we already know where we need to go
Your dishonorable mention was my thought. Too many legendaries out there that have no business being legendary. Especially if it's useless in end game. Second thing I would say is no steps back. Don't take away features we love just because this is a new game. Like the create a max level character after you've beat the game once. Or toggling the limited time events.
I really missed new Vault Hunters as DLC. I recognize that in BL3, they added a 4th skill tree and in Wonderlands they did dual-classes, but the extra skill tree seemed like you were watering down the capstone skill in each tree and didn't have that same feeling as using Gaige and Kreig for a new playthrough and the dual-class was fun, but not a reason to play the whole campaign again....
I disagree with the Driving Maps one. It lets them show off a mechanic of the game and they went above and beyond with the vehicle customization in B3. I also disagree with the need to return to the Hub area. Its actually pretty good because it teaches players that they can take a break, open a golden chest, visit Marcus for upgrade modules, test builds on the training dummy, deposit weapons into your vault and most importantly EMPTY your lost look machine in case you missed something good or sell the stuff for some extra cash. Sure as a veteran player like yourself you find it annoying but you need to remember, not everyone is replaying this game 10+ times like yourself lol some are just there for one playthru. Otherwise I fully agree because you do make very valid points on each topic :D
Agree!! The concept of the chambers is perfect. They were basically just Slaughter maps, but you got currency for your time that you could use to target farm gear!! It's a fantastic idea.
@@captainspaulding5963 Yeah, the idea of a roguelike mode where you pick modifiers for more loot was a good one. WL bungled it by making it the ONLY endgame thing. I'd like a roguelike mode combined with Arms Race, where you could earn tokens to buy favors between rounds.
@@MegamanXfan21xx I really would like to see the Arms Race concept being expended into BL4. Different maps, a roguelite's choice system like you said, anything to make it better. Just ... I hope they don't kill another couple good characters of the past for it. RIP Axton.
it still baffles me that every mayhem level except for 11 is as annoying as it is with all the modifiers, like you said in the video, it needs a toggle at the very least, and most people wouldn't complain if you just removed them entirely
Something I am not seeing a reference to is the 'Follow Me' aspect to quests this was mostly used in BL3 to dump exposition but you are basically doing nothing until they finish talking or reach their destination. Doing this once or twice is fine but in BL3 it felt like every other quest was a follow quest.
I think just put back in pearlescent weapons but make them the most powerful in the game but, you have to kill an extremely badass enemy to get it so you get a powerful weapon for proving your might against a very extremely tough enemy.

Incredibly rare weapons shouldnt be moved on. Pearls dont need to be op, or if its a entire new rarity(pearl reksin) they should be insanely unique or good. People LOVE hunting rare items. To move on from that would be a huge mistake which 3 proved. It doesnt have to be pearl persay but insanely rare item rarity is really nice. @Xeo_A

I don't know why no one is talking about how detrimental the face puncher and other guns that did melee damage was to true melee builds in borderlands. It literally made true melee builds unviable. Instead of high risk high reward like melee builds are supposed to be, it was just always better to use a gun on a "melee" build. It just became another type of gun damage. And resulted in strong melee tools like the white elephant to be nerfed into the ground.
Borderlands 1 is absolutely guilty for driving missions. The Commander Knoxx DLC was one massive driving quest clusterfuck, and the absolute lack of fast travel points outside of the hub (for every BL1 DLC, too), made it a terrible experience. However, if you want open and massive landscapes that are not claustrophobic, then driving is essential, because fuck walking everywhere.
One thing that annoyed me in previous games was having a shield capacity that was so high yet on the highest difficulty levels.. enemies always did damage based on % percentage. So even your 4 million shield would be destroyed in 3 hits... kinda defeats the purpose. Where as in other games, difficulty levels had a base damage for enemies. Although I do understand that % based damage is required for level scaling but it always made me drop beefy shields for the SHAM or something like that.
A roguelike Digistruct Peak would be awesome. Maybe have powerful legendaries exclusive to the higher levels and even Pearls drop from bosses with higher chances the higher you go. But it’d have to have its own leveling system independent from the world
Honestly with how the pre sequel ended When the eridian said a "war is coming and your going to need all the vault hunters you can get." I hope that means bl4 will have an eridian based story maybe a eridian antagonist and explain why they made the vaults more. Also there are 2 unaccounted for sirens one will probably be playable and the other will be bad since that makes 5 good sirens. And some depth on the other gun companies would be nice. To have all previous vault hunters and all 5 sirens versus one mega boss would be such a dope ending
I absolutely do not want another face puncher esque weapon. Make melee actually good/viable so that you don’t need some cheese weapon/grenade that does melee damage
Agreed, I'd prefer it if bayonets were for utility _(eg. bayonet effects that drop ammo on hit, have lifesteal, or reload your weapon instantly on kill)_ and raw melee damage was boosted through other sources. I wonder if a universal system for melee/slams/slides and etc inheriting some damage from your overall calculated DPS could work?
@@darthvaderreviews6926 I really loved the melee weapons in wonderlands and hope they bring that back but I just hate it when they’re like “GUN that’s melee damage!” Cause at that point it isn’t a melee build anymore. Yeah it scales off of melee damage but if you’re shooting a gun as your main way of dealing damage it is no longer a melee build, so what’s the point of melee scaling if you’re just gonna shoot a gun. If we need ranged melee options make it be through actual good abilities (not that horrible spinning blade ability in wonderlands) or dedicated ranged melee weapons (like that sword in wonderlands that threw lasers), just not a damn gun or grenade
Destiny 2's crafting system is fine now, the only reason it use to be bad was because you had to use the weapons so much before being able to extract the pattern.
Seemed to me it was a 'fresh idea from the new guy' type of thing to me. Same with the overuse of jumping/jump pad puzzles, like in the Guardian Takedown, and the Krieg DLC.
I mean I like modifiers if they are meaningful gave me the roguelike feel but, the way BL3 implemented them was awful. There was basically no reward to taking any of them outside lootsplosion.
@@AGO339 ikr, maybe have: if you play with this modifier, there is a +%chance for 'insert legendary item' to drop. the particular legendary is changed periodically and multipliers that affect the same legendary are cumulative. you may hate the modifier but getting that particular legendary would be worth it.
100% Agree with VISUAL POLUTION! I play with my brother, and there are so many god damn effects. I randomly die to a big ground effect, since I didnt notice it. And I have to look at the map and aim blindly out in the air since I cannot see the enemy, because of visual clutter.
Borderlands 4 personally I would want them to bring back rarities above legendaries, like rare gear that you can strive to achieve from like raid bosses like Seraphs were for an example
I dont want a weapon system which is overly complicated and too cluttered. It was a valuable skill to look at an item and be able to see if its good or bad just at a glance and not need to look at a external website. And THEN have another system that just renders that mute,Anointments at the end game were even more important than a large chunk of the gun itself. I want to see the Game's equivalent to a casual ravagger on the ground and gasp before saying "Fuck yes, a ravager!" Or see a matching grip or a vladolf barrel on a hyperion gun. I imagine there would be very few people would gripe if they made the Malak's bane a blue. If i found it had turned into a blue in my bank,I'd probably laugh my butt off at it like "Finally!"
This is true if I'm not playing with my friends I don't really want to play with anyone else but, I may change that with the next title since I miss those early days of online gaming and thats how I still have friends I game with today.
honestly ill take the progression system of slaughter maps unlocking mayhem 1-3, trials unlocking 4-9 and a raid unlocking mayhem 10 over run this gauntlet, refarm, run it again, refarm, run it again, refarm. the former is actually less repetative and alot less tedious than running the same thing over and over only breaking to refarm gear (looking at you bl2)
I dunno about the skin and heads thing. Me and friends liked to share what the other didnt have and i shared them with randoms all the time. Maybe decrease the chances of that same skin or head dropping if you already have it. just dont delete it from the loot pool entirely
I liked the driving sections. They were refreshing gameplay from the usual shooting. What DOES need to change is the vehicles HP scaling better so they aren't made of glass at endgame and their weapons aren't nerfguns.
Here are my top 10 don't wants 10. Honestly I don't want the anointed effects on guns. It makes me feel like my loot feel weaker or finally getting a drop that had the wrong anointed modifier. 9. Legendaries being a gimmick than something meant to be powerful. Many legendaries in 3 and wonderlands are either gimmicks or strong weapons and nothing in-between. 8. Non one time farms. Like why have them in the first place? A one in a billion chance to get a item drop needing to play through again? Why!? 7. Decrease legendary spawn rates. On both 3 and wonderlands my entire inventories are filled with legenadries and it wasn't hard to obtain. 6. Wait times in-between story missions. It's unironically just faster to save quit to skip curtain points to not be forced to play out scripted events. 5. Obnoxious humor. Borderlands can be funny and it's proven with 2 and presequel but those games knew when to be funny and when to be serious. 4. Scattered side missions. Like why make bounty boards useless? Honestly just make them return as a way to get majority of side content. I understand why some are scattered but going out of my way to start side quests is annoying. 3. Anti player enemy design. I just hate anointed enemies outright. They aren't really fun to fight and are replacement for mainly badass enemy spawns and I don't want something like that to return. 2. I don't want Ava to return to the game. I don't think I need to explain 1. Nerfs to weapons and skills. If anything just buff underperforming weapons and skills rather than nerf the ones that are too strong. Like it's not hard to think about. Obviously don't make the buffs insanely strong but be on the same level is all.
The nerfs kills me on games like this. Like they nerfed alot of things like its a pvp game making one build viable or just making a VH not worth playing lol.
I agree with the humor. In BL3 i didnt felt any serious nor emotional moments kinda due to the characters always making random puns everytime. BL2 and Pre Sequel offered great moments like some of Jack's voicelines or Felicity Robot AI mission that i love and personnaly remember as the perfect way to be serious in a game that is reputated for its humor. You are so used to kill and be killed all the time while having fun like SHOT ME IN THE HEAD guy or Jack paying you to jump off a cliff but somehow Felicity while being an AI makes you feel like life is the most important thing
I completely agree with you with the nerfing and buffing. It actually drove me away from the Borderland series. If they do this again in 4, I'm done for good.

Dude, I'm a statistic. I'm not kidding, I never knew about true trial toggle. It took until this video to learn about it. I have been farming for gear for my Moze build and Lootlemon told me that it drops from a true trial boss. I thought that meant on true vault hunter mode. Wow
I didnt mind the driving maps, the first time doing them they felt fairly epic. However they are completely empty wasted space. I do believe Bl3 took a step in the right direction with vehicles, making them a bit more in depth than simple transportation tools that they were in Bl2. I think if there were to return there should be driving maps / segments that take place down the middle of the existing large open spaces. For example if the driving section to get to the Promethea vault just took place in the regular Medirian Metroplex / outskirts it wouldnt feel nearly as useless. This would however mean the maps would need to be significantly larger than they currently are. But saying that, Bl2 always felt like it wanted to be a fully open world game but couldnt due to technical constraints, as all the different regions feel a lot more interconnected compared to Bl3, so maybe a almost fully open world borderlands could work.
She wasn't exactly great in BL3. But she was just a kid then. If she's older and have outgrown her emo phase, I might be okay with her being in the game. Also, she's a siren now. So it makes sense to have her in the game. Might as well get used to the idéa.
I agree with almost everything. It was sort of an offhand comment but I think the crafting system was actually really good for destiny. Hell no i dont want it in bl4. but I wouldnt say it was disastrous for destiny
I actually like the crafting system too but, I know a lot of my friends that are hardcore players(myself being a casual player of destiny) who just hated it because it was just another time sink.
6:22 funny how I was on FaceTime with my friend last night playing borderlands and I was talking about the visual pollution from the other end. “I can’t tell a thing that’s going on. What are you even shooting at?” “I know right? I love it. And it’s simple” **sees enemy healthbar** “FIRE!” *BOOM 💥* *hostile down* Just in small bursts though. Ofc it's too much overall
I personally hope they don't bring back the anointment system. I didn't like the idea of throwing a grenade to proc a shield buff and activate my action skill to proc a helath buff and so on.
At 2:50 you forgot that not only is driving really boring the game also repeatedly forces you to use the worst vehicle known to mankind, the stupid heavy technical or whatever it is called. The thing handles like a shit brickhouse and is super flimsy on higher difficulty. I hate driving in Borderlands games.
Just in case you ever have to do that mission with Vaughn again, you can switch to your normal vehicle at the beginning of the mission and then just press respawn vehicle at the closest stop near the end of the
Good list. One thing for visual pollution: The ability to turn off damage numbers/critical hit indication. It is nice to have when starting out, or even when testing stuff at end game. But once you have your final build going, and you are on the highest Mayhem/OP level doing raid bosses; chances are you already know what does the best damage, and where enemy crits are at, and you don't need all that extra stuff on screen to tell you that.
Can we have final bosses that make sense? I loved the dynamic that Troy and Tyreen had. I loved it even more when by the end of the game, their views on their objectives changed. With how fed up Troy was with us constantly getting in the way and his sister doing jack to stop us, why wouldn't he absorb his sister and give us a final boss far better than the one we got?
@@Ki11ersix Ehh, I still like the hunters left from 1 and 2, FL4K and Zane were ok but the issue is that I want the legacy of 3 to be completely erased and the work of these shit writers to have been for nothing, so I'm torn on that.
The visual pollution is actually a huge problem that i dont see many people talking about. Sure the game looks great, but whens theres so much crap whizzing in front of my crosshair it makes for a way less enjoyable shooter experience
One thing they SHOULD do in Borderlands 4? Allow you to freely customize different weapon parts (grip, stock, mag, etc) once you've gotten access to said weapon. In order to actually customize/tinker with said weapons, you need to visit an npc character in whatever the Hub-World will be. Preferably, Moxxi, in her "engineer" attire. She charges you chump change each time you tinker as her new form of a "tip jar" where she'll occasionally award you with a gun or cosmetic item.
I honestly like the idea of modifiers as lons as their porpouse is to be fun, no instant death, random DOT or ressistances, just things like giant heads, superspeed, lootsplossion, if it's random cool but give more customization like maybe theres an only crit modifirer, so you can make a playtrouhg with it, or get it at random or maybe take it away from the random pool.
Grinder 2.0 with consistency, vote for this. Dedicated drops. Don't need to play story many times. Immune phase is the killer No need to address characters to this new ideology And also I hope game maps shows only as you play it, let's make it a mystery, yes
If they are going to do some reroll mechanic like 3 has for anointments, don’t make it so ridiculously expensive. It’s one thing being on pc and getting mods to lower it but console players unfortunately don’t have that luxury
The Voracious Canopy eridium farm is fairly speedy, even for last-gen consoles. Just needs a couple items to set it up, but you'll be able to safely farm up tens of thousands.

Crafting as a transmog system might work pretty well. Let us find guns that we like, break apart, and customize our weapons appearance. A bit like No Man's Sky's ship building, just with more shooting.
Personally I love the modifiers (atleast on mayhem ten) most of them don’t feel straight up unfair (besides the one that just completely nullifies crits essentially) like roguelite is absolutely fun, it can be hard but that’s the point, you get way better loot, for doing way better than others, but maybe it’s just my build for Zane or something
When it comes to item crafting, I would be alright with it on things like artifacts and class mods. Or allow the player to reroll specific parts of those items. The RNG involved in getting a perfect whatever is absurd sometimes.

If I could have a slider that let's me just cut the opacity of the effects in half, my set up would be multiple times as strong as it is.
An idea regarding weapon crafting…….. how about we have a grinder that destroys a legendary and leaves you with a random part for that legendary, or possible be able to select the saved part with eridium. Then, when you have enough parts, all acquired by sacrificing legendaries, you could combine them to make your perfect roll legendary? ….. example, you grind a linoge,LoL, and you get a barrel, grind another and get a grip, etc….. the when you have all the parts, combine to make a better linoge
Add on to that, you can only add or swap certain parts a certain amount of times. So, you can swap 1/2 parts, and that's it. No more tinkering. It would mean that you still have to grind out a weapon to get it, but if you get one with okay parts, then you can swap out the one part that completely ruins it for a steep cost. Plus, you have to earn the part to get it. As in, you get multiple and grind them down to get the part you can swap out. This would mean that the whole "1 in 96,446,790" for a perfect hide of terra, you can get one with okay parts, swap one out for a greater part, and it means that if you do get one, which is rare enough, getting one with abysmal parts wouldn't be the end of the world, but you would need one more to get the exchange part.
I understand the driving sucks but i loved the mad max mission where you have to blow up the massive moving building by blowing up the transmission and such
I just want to be able to change the sights on my guns. I'll happily grind the rest, but there's nothing that triggers my OCD more than getting a perfect roll with a trash red dot
1 tiny thing that annoys the hell out of me is the item value animation. I like to hoard as much as I can then sell it when I reach a vendor. When I’m full on loot having to go through each item and find the lowest value item to drop is a pain in the ass when it takes a few seconds for the numbers to show up
Vertical splitscreen for consoles day 1. Me and my partner play every Borderlands game coop in vertical splitscreen like many others. I can’t stress this enough as horizontal whilst playable was a mess and you barely see anything. They eventually fixed it when they did the next gen update and it was there day one with Wonderlands. There were a crazy amount of feedback it had on the Gearbox message board to bring that feature back
I have an idea for how a crafting system might work without taking a way the looter shooter elements that make Borderlands Borderlands. Say you have 4 Plasma Coils, each has a God Roll part but none of them have them all. You sacrifice a whole legendary for one part (Scope, Grip, Magazine, or Stock in the case of the Plasma Coil) and you need all 4 parts to make a new one with the parts you want. You're still hunting for those God Roll parts, but you no longer need for all of them to be on the same gun. The caveat to this is that this only works for legendary weapons and they are specific to each gun (so no putting Plasma Coil parts in a Hellfire to try and being it back to its BL2 glory).
70TB install, got it. I too remember the better days, when games used to fit on a (somewhat) reasonably number of disks and didn't need an internet connection at any point. But then everyone's favorite Steam had to come around and kick off the era of eternally online games, now game developers try to lay claim to your entire hard drive with their uselessly large, poorly optimized games because they are no longer shackled by the constraints of a physical copy.
I don't mind going back to Sanctuary, honestly, as long as you: 1. Have a different character talk to me every so often. 2. Only really do it for things like fetch quests or whatever. I liked the atmosphere of Sanctuary in BL3, and I know I'm in the minority because everyone's had their perceptions tainted by the grating returns to the ship, but some of my best times were hanging out with my friends on Sanctuary.
One thing that could help anointments is creating a machine that allows you to break down guns with a specific anointment down to progress towards an "annointment token". Then you could use this token to apply a specific annointment to any gun of your choosing, saving some time but still requiring you to grind a bit towards the token.
I want Raid Bosses dropping new body cosmetics. A lot of skins in the BL series I feel are just the same clothes, different color. I love the unique skins, but the only ones I feel are actually skins are the ones that change your head and body. I would love for BL4 to have matching heads and body skins
Speaking of Sliders, can we get a loot slider. And it must come with 3 options. 1. Give me a Challenge (Borderlands 2 type drop rates) 2. Don’t make it too easy (Half way between Borderlands 2 and 3) 3. Let it rain loot (Borderlands 3 drop rates) You choose at the beginning of a playthrough. It caters for every type of player.
That's one thing I really noticed about BL3, is I never needed to use the golden key chest because I was swimming in legendaries just from random drops.
@@DrewMarold This is soo true, there’s soo much loot, you never really need to use your keys. Even the Diamond keys are a bit obsolete. It’s more of I have them, let me use them.
1:50 I think they need to introduce something I would call 'soft immune phases' where if you deal enough damage to one shot the boss it should die instantly, or if you deal an excessive amount of damage (even if it doesn't one shot) it should still skip the immune phase. So on a fresh playthrough you still get the chance to cool down and refresh yourself for the next phase without ruining it for people who are farming it and are able to basically one shot it.
i agree with everything here tbh. endgame especially; they REALLY need to work that. also 8:43 i thought the strat for everyone was beat the story, toggle mayhem 11, get a hail from moxxi, and farm for useable gear with that.
I wrote an entire summary treatise on Cartoonshi's review of BL3 that the only good and sensible things to do with Ava's character would be to make her the main antagonist of Borderlands 4. If she's anything other then a villain, I'm not even going to bother.
@@captainspaulding5963 yes but there are only so many endless runs a player can take. You make it so rare that it’s annoying to get like almost any legendary in 2, unless you run bl2 fix and have read only and location saving, players will stop bothering and find something else to play. You make it too easy players will feel cheated. Yes legendaries should be challenging to far but it also shouldn’t be so rare that you think bloodborne 2 will come out before you get it. There should be a tough but fair balance and let’s admit neither 2 or 3 has that.
No more ghosts, no slag, no one shotting old vault hunters, get rid of the unlimited legendaries from BL3 make us earn them, get rid of cov guns lol, and the repetitive vaults in BL3 were also annoying it felt like I did the same mission 5 times in that game

@@simon9549I like that too, but there's a limit. Shit should not take 10000+ runs for you to have a chance
Same, i play on console and with no read only, its hard enough.
Very good take. That's the best of both worlds and is fairly logical
Yeah just increase thier health per immunity phase that shouldve existed
Wokelands 4 about to be awful
Yeah use it to make the fight longer on the first time you fight each boss. And then the immunity stages goes away after that so you can farm in peace

I NEED TO PLAY AS LILITH WITH A FULL SKILL TREE!!! PLEASE!!!!
During it's whole development cycle of BL3 the whole of Gearbox never paid attention to game pacing, and avoiding things that grind it to a halt.

Also what new classes can they make that’s actually unique?
I'd like the ability to equip melee weapons like a gun and swings them with the fire button.
@@MegamanXfan21xx This would be pretty easy if they brought back wl melee weapons
I don't know how borderlands hasn't gotten that right.
like mini bosses would be fun.
Ya I hear you because you get real screwed over when there's no enemies around when you're going into FFYL
Yeah especially since you have so many kill skills available on every character.
I also don’t want to see bosses have such big loot pools. Main bosses just need one or two dedicated drops, no world drops, and all named enemies should have a dedicated drop to spread them round evenly
I disagree on the world drop aspect. They should be in the pool, but less likely to spawn than their dedicated items.
@@Deamons64 or have world drops but the rare drops are a separate pool all together
Why on earth do bosses still drop white and green items at endgame levels? That should be addressed as well
World drops should still exist imo because potentially finding a Legendary in a random toilet is part of the fun of this type of game.
Just make sure the world drops aren't exclusively world drops and have some sort of designated spot to farm them.
Hear me out: cosmetics are still legendaries but they are removed from the loot pool as you collect them. That way, chasing cosmetics improves your loot luck as well.
You must not have watched the video lol this was literally one of his listed mentions.
Why 3 L's what is wrong w me
Maybe you'd prefer soap operas.
Yeah, it's a crying shame compared to how Roland's death was treated in Dragon Keep dlc.
This isn’t CoD…
Same for skeleton keys. I don't care for hoping on Twitter or relying on the outside factor other than earning the keys in-game.
How about no. This isn't Call of Duty.
I would love if raid bosses gave you new bodies. The only skins that truly feels like skins are BL3 body parts (for me at least)
I'll be honest I think it's only Roland that is serious 90% of the time. Everyone else is goofy and fun
i'd love a more serious game
I'd like it if BL4 got a little darker/edgier. Only a drop of edge though, we're not opening the mid 2000s floodgates here😅
Oh i know what else you guys should add to the " we do not want in borderlands list" is the cast of the borderlands movie in the Game 😂
Yeah wow...the casting of that movie was beyond terrible:
-Kevin Hart is too much of a child to play the ultra serious Roland.

Rest in peace, Bl3 firestorm (Grenade).

Modifiers are the effing worst thing ever, like get rid of them! Whose idea was it?! Demote this person, it sucks.
Seemed to me it was a 'fresh idea from the new guy' type of thing to me.
Same with the overuse of jumping/jump pad puzzles, like in the Guardian Takedown, and the Krieg DLC.
alternatively i like them, i juwst wished it was an option with extra rewards attatched, not a requirment of each mayhem level.
I want to see the Game's equivalent to a casual ravagger on the ground and gasp before saying "Fuck yes, a ravager!"
Or see a matching grip or a vladolf barrel on a hyperion gun.
I imagine there would be very few people would gripe if they made the Malak's bane a blue.
If i found it had turned into a blue in my bank,I'd probably laugh my butt off at it like "Finally!"
I think with matchmaking it's difficult to make better because a lot of people just play with friends only or don't want to play with randos.
Here are my top 10 don't wants
I don't think I need to explain
@GhettoJesus23 just imagine them going overboard with nerfs in bl1 or 2. I don't think those games wouldn't survive.
@@Oxred9 Handsome Jack was subjectively the best villain in the borderlands franchise because he was an arsehole, knew he was an arsehole and went with it. No pretending "I did it for reasons" or omg im so bad look at me bullshit, it was just lets blow your best friends head off for fun-zies , then do it again this time with a camera for the memes. Lets have more of that. Get some Vas from Farcry 3 in there too for the memorable 1 liners. but i feel somehow its gonna be over the top some crappy 2 bit villain that is only doing what they are doing cause reasons.
Dude, I'm a statistic. I'm not kidding, I never knew about true trial toggle. It took until this video to learn about it. I have been farming for gear for my Moze build and Lootlemon told me that it drops from a true trial boss. I thought that meant on true vault hunter mode. Wow
I almost cut that part from the video too since I was straying off topic lol
@@Ki11ersix Glad you didn't, I'd have never figured it out. Thanks, now I get to try it.
Not me getting the linage from Killavolt while farming for a monarch LITERALLY SECONDS before you mentioned it
You forgot Number Zero: AVA! Don't bring back that god-awful waste of space character.
I'm sure at Ava is going to be the next Siren character and I hate it already
She wasn't exactly great in BL3. But she was just a kid then. If she's older and have outgrown her emo phase, I might be okay with her being in the game. Also, she's a siren now. So it makes sense to have her in the game. Might as well get used to the idéa.
@@DethSymphony gearbox can get used to the idea of players not buying Borderlands 4 😂
Ney, the Dust was cool. I am not a fan of how they did it in BL3 though.
The Dust at least had named enemies and Ellie. Tubby farm too.
Dahl hellfire
I agree with almost everything. It was sort of an offhand comment but I think the crafting system was actually really good for destiny. Hell no i dont want it in bl4. but I wouldnt say it was disastrous for destiny
I was going off what friends told me
I actually like the crafting system too but, I know a lot of my friends that are hardcore players(myself being a casual player of destiny) who just hated it because it was just another time sink.
6:22 funny how I was on FaceTime with my friend last night playing borderlands and I was talking about the visual pollution from the other end.
“I can’t tell a thing that’s going on. What are you even shooting at?”
“I know right? I love it. And it’s simple”
**sees enemy healthbar**
“FIRE!” *BOOM 💥*
*hostile down*
Just in small bursts though.
Just in case you ever have to do that mission with Vaughn again, you can switch to your normal vehicle at the beginning of the mission and then just press respawn vehicle at the closest stop near the end of the
No it doesn't. You can drive whatever vehicle you want 90% of the time, you just have to FINISH the mission with the mission vehicle
Things we don't wanna see: the gub
Things we do wanna see: the linoge
Honestly just remove Ava and you've got me on board.
I say kill them all and start fresh. Except Marcus and Moxxi
@@Ki11ersix Ehh, I still like the hunters left from 1 and 2, FL4K and Zane were ok but the issue is that I want the legacy of 3 to be completely erased and the work of these shit writers to have been for nothing, so I'm torn on that.
Borderlands was originally going to be a mad max style game but the overhauled it completely, they however still have a soft spot for driving sections
The visual pollution is actually a huge problem that i dont see many people talking about. Sure the game looks great, but whens theres so much crap whizzing in front of my crosshair it makes for a way less enjoyable shooter experience
I hope the story is good enough to do it more than once on 1 character. i dont want a slog story that drives me away from endgame stuff.
Not until BL3 have I played a BL game and wanted to be max level from the very start, just to avoid 'PLAYING THE GAME!'.
Alternative idea for modifiers, take a note from Halo with skulls where you can pick and choose.
Grinder 2.0 with consistency, vote for this.
Dedicated drops.
Don't need to play story many times.
Immune phase is the killer
No need to address characters to this new ideology
And also I hope game maps shows only as you play it, let's make it a mystery, yes
L take you casuals just want everything handed to you farming took zero time at all for eridum many ways of getting it. Not like it even matters the game is easy even on mayhem 11
@@HDGaminTutorials fool everyone even bl2 fanboys agree that 250 to reroll is too much
@@HDGaminTutorials 250 for an annointment roll? Are you dumb? Not to mention how many different anointments there are so the chances of getting the exact one you want are so low it’s dumb. Some things don’t need to be a big ass farm

I agree with everything except the point about "visual pollution". It can be harder to see.... But I love how powerful you feel as Moze/Amara with all the explosions and crazy effects everywhere. I really enjoy how chaotic it feels.
It should have a slider
@@zerenityzerene4410 I agree if they can find a way to give you an option to turn it down, that’s always welcome. But I tend to agree that it’s quite fun when there’s a bunch of explosions everywhere lol
Dude, as someone who has been playing a hybrid melee/elemental Kreig for 7 years, it needs to go down. At a y given time in combat, I have no less than 3 things actively making the screen harder to read. (Rampage border, elemental self damage borders, self hit flashes, blood, mud, and every other particle effect you can imagine.) I have nearly a decade of experience with this set up, and I still will be unable to figure out what the hell is happening more times than I care to admit.
1:47 ngl I really liked the evil Lilith fight in the fustercluck dlc
I understand the driving sucks but i loved the mad max mission where you have to blow up the massive moving building by blowing up the transmission and such
I get so mad when a legendary pops up and it's a trinket
I just want to be able to change the sights on my guns. I'll happily grind the rest, but there's nothing that triggers my OCD more than getting a perfect roll with a trash red dot
Just eradicate everything that stops the pacing, missions where u have to follow an npc thats force feeding you unskipable dialogue...
It's only a bad thing when the dialogue is bad, which is pretty much the entire game.
The caveat to this is that this only works for legendary weapons and they are specific to each gun (so no putting Plasma Coil parts in a Hellfire to try and being it back to its BL2 glory).
i don't want it to be 5000gb
70TB install, got it.
I too remember the better days, when games used to fit on a (somewhat) reasonably number of disks and didn't need an internet connection at any point. But then everyone's favorite Steam had to come around and kick off the era of eternally online games, now game developers try to lay claim to your entire hard drive with their uselessly large, poorly optimized games because they are no longer shackled by the constraints of a physical copy.
Just no insufferable dialogue. Please.
I don't mind going back to Sanctuary, honestly, as long as you:
I want to be able to turn off the screaming when on fire
Similarly, I want to be and to turn off the gasping and wheezing after running 25 yards.
nah thats gay af. you need to scream when you on fire
Speaking of Sliders, can we get a loot slider. And it must come with 3 options.
1. Give me a Challenge (Borderlands 2 type drop rates)
2. Don’t make it too easy (Half way between Borderlands 2 and 3)
3. Let it rain loot (Borderlands 3 drop rates)
You choose at the beginning of a playthrough.
Most players absolutely can't just turn on Mayhem 11 and dominate with just a Crit or Hail.
I don't wanna see ava be a main part of the game.
I wrote an entire summary treatise on Cartoonshi's review of BL3 that the only good and sensible things to do with Ava's character would be to make her the main antagonist of Borderlands 4. If she's anything other then a villain, I'm not even going to bother.
ooo slag....do not want slag lol, do not want 1000+ attempts for a specific god roll lol
I mean, these games are built around RNG for loot. So endless runs for gear are very much still going to be a thing
I liked slag its better than just using whatever you want and reqyires actual brain cells.
Immune phases and modifiers gotta go
No more ghosts, no slag, no one shotting old vault hunters, get rid of the unlimited legendaries from BL3 make us earn them, get rid of cov guns lol, and the repetitive vaults in BL3 were also annoying it felt like I did the same mission 5 times in that game
really like this list man, the one that resonated with me the most as of right now was the excessive skins dropping, and clogging up the lost loot machine, over and over and over again. Hope they make some of these happen! Thanks K6
