First...thank you for this video. It was definitely a help. Man that lower EGR bolt is a nightmare on a GTS. Can't get a socket on it, get a racheting wrench on it and all the welded on brakets prevent it from racheting. How did you get that lower bolt off the EGR? Been on that bolt for 5 hours now. Everything else was a breeze. Any tips?
Nevermind...finally got it. Took a racheting 12mm small wrench. I had to come from the Drivers side on a GTS. You CANNOT get it from the passenger side with a racheting wrench as the bracket on that side prevents you from moving the wrench when you get it on the bolt. I couldn't get a socket on it either because of the heat shield. From the drivers side you come from the bottom of the egr and if you steady yourself you can get a few good turns on it enough to loosen it and turn the rest with your fingers. Once I got it loose from the drivers side it was easiest to loosen by hand from the top passenger side. Hope this helps anyone working on a GTS.
O my God thxxx u so much I was going nuts. I have the Gts to. And dose not look like any of the other videos I've seen why is it GTS different than the GT
First thank you for recording this! Secondly what tool setup did you use to get those off? I'm having a terrible time trying to get the bolt below the egr port and the one between it and the egr off.
@@jameslenoir9325 Actually thats not correct, they did not have the same intake, the gts has a dual induction system which was done away with fairly quickly same system in the video. The dual induction system you can not buy on ebay. The 03 gts which Ive got has a 2 part plenum. Mitsubishi went from the 2 piece plenum to a one piece plenum which is setup completely different.
chad reed I can't remember honestly... I used my Haynes manual as a guide and I'm out of town so I can't look it up. I just installed the bolts from the inside to the outside.
Thank god someone does this for the gts! Thank you man
Only thank you for that past 4 hours I been tryna figure that out!
Thanks for the upload. I struggled today trying to find those last two bolts... fingers crossed I have better luck tomorrow.

I cannot get to that bottom bolt for the EGR, any tips???
I used 12mm retching wrench, with another wrench connected to it for more leverage.
Lmao I pulled out the injector cables too!
Man you are a w

Roy H I just used a wrench or a socket on the back ones. It was not super easy but doable.
Tim Schwartz okay thanks
Thank u
How do you remove he middle bolt in the back? What tool do you use?
Where can i buy one of those intake manifolds? ive got the same one on my car for the life of me i cant find a replacement one
Try local junkyards, eclipse gts' and gt's(from 03 -05) all had the same intake manifold. If not junkyards, definitely you can find one on ebay.

I have an 03 Gs. Is it necessary to move this to replace the egr?
I'm not sure on the GS since that's a completely different engine. Sorry.
Tim Tech ok cool. Thanks for replying! 🤙🏾
How u get the egr off 😭😭😭
Only difference I can see is the location of the egr tube
what did you torque the manifold bolts to and is there a certain pattern? thanks for reply about the value cover,
