    Seriously great job! Also you don't need to take off the front... Just tip the washer back and remove the Drain pump from the bottom. 3 screw. Easy removal. Spending $30 is much better than $400. Thanks man

    I tried all lg recommended fixes and had the same issue with my LG front loader OE error code. This is the fix. MAKE SURE THE 3 AIRWAYS INTO THE TUB ARE NOT CLOGGED WITH YEARS OF USE. Specifically, I pulled the hose off between the tub and pump, looked at the inside of the far back connection of that hose, and the inside is white plastic tube about 1.5 inches in diameter and it had crud blocking the small air hole that connects to the hose to the water level pressure switch. Apparently, the Water Level Pressure Switch determines if water has been expelled. The crud was mostly lint and dirt. You can look up the white tube from the front of the washing machine, with the front panel removed, with a mirror and clean it out with some spray cleaner and a couple paper towels crammed into the 1.5 in diameter hole and twisting the towels around with needle nose pliers. Then use a paper clip straitened to clean out the small hole inside that tube. Get all the crud out. If you do this, you may as well clean the top center of the tub air inlet by taking out the black hose pulling out the mushroom looking device and cleaning it. Then to the left of that is a small black hose from the exit water hose. Pull that from the tub and clean that by using the straightened paper clip. Stick it in the little hole at lease 2 inches and wiggle it around to loosen up any crud buildup. There is nothing on the internet about this so, good luck.

      Geez, you should have made this video! You really get into your work. Your post inspired me to go the extra mile and it was well worth it. One of the recirc hoses was almost clogged and the other one was completely clogged. I removed them and cleaned them good as new.. And I cleaned the Water Level/Air Pressure switch with a squirt bottle which shoots a pretty strong stream. Thanks for the advice!!!

    I have this exact model and I could hear the pump making a "grinding" noise to accompany the OE error code. I tipped my washer forward and accessed the pump assembly from the bottom. Took approximately 20 minutes (start to finish) to replace the pump. Tools used: 10mm w/ extension for the pump cradle. Slip joint pliars to remove clamp on hoses (2) connected to pump housing. Phillips screw driver to remove screws holding pump to pump assembly. Finally, patience. One of the 3 10mm stud that holds the cradle down is a bit tough to reach and took a couple of tries to get it back in the correct orientation. Good Luck!!

    Great video. It helped me diagnose the fact that I needed a new drain pump. That said, it is very easy to change by tilting the washing machine on the side. Then, you can easily get to the pump by removing three bolts that are in rubber boots with a 10 mm socket and extension then unplugging two tubes the bigger ones. Then you can pull everything out and remove three screws with a Philips head screwdriver. Makes this task take about 15 minutes.

    I berry much enjoy reading the notes comparing remedies for this very common machine..it's a big help to get a road-map born of experience before starting a repair attempt. I got in the appliance racket 35 years ago when it was more like fixing roller-skates, and NOT rocket-ships. I am looking at an LG that was in the carport when my friend bought this trailer in a T-park. We are at 8500 feet so there may be issues with damage by freezing; which is a problem common to anything that operates with water sitting still. Just as a recommendation, if possible, find a MAYTAG or WHIRLPOOL 1960-1980 series washer in decent shape, test it and fix whatever, and you'll never need another washer. Extremely low maintenance, mostly easy repairs, and excellent wash results. Best designs ever. I picked up a matched set of 60's MAYTAG's sitting on the curb and all I had to do was replace the igniter coil to the dryer. 8 years later, and still no trouble. Plug and play!

    If I may suggest to everyone... use a shop vac to also vacuum from the front after removing the filter and also vacuum your washing machine waste water line to ensure no clogs or old build up. Also pour water into your plumbing drain line/trap to ensure no clogs there either. Good luck. We have a dog and 2 cats. Plenty of buildup after 4 years and cleaning only the pump filter was not enough.

      Sounds like it was a crazy weekend. I am sure you have it fixed by now, but the secret there would be to turn the disposal in the opposite direction than it normally does. To do this, most disposals will have a Female Hex head receiver at the bottom that will allow you to spin it with a hex head (allen) wrench.

    I have that drain pump coming in today (based on a lot of UA-cam videos, apparently this needs to be replaced) but thought I’d give LG customer service a call. And apparently I need to just do a clean tub with the special solution meant for this cycle. So hubs is off to buy the cleaning product but I don’t feel like that’s going to work since I haven’t seen any video saying that this might be all that’s needed. I guess the product works like draino and breaks down the apparent clog that’s somewhere inside the washer. I do wash a lot of my sofa covers full of dog hairs and I’m guilty of never using the clean tub cycle. Hope it’s that simple.

      That is probably a good practice in general to do every couple months. If your pump is damaged or broken though it will still need replaced. If the pump is still in good condition, you might get by. I have now replaced my pump twice on my unit. Still beats the heck out of spending $1000 for a new unit.

    I've been fighting an intermittent OE fault in my LG Front-load washer for a week. It's all clog free, I changed the pump motor and did 3 tub clean cycles, all with no luck. The washer sometimes stops at the end of the wash cycle (before rinse) AFTER the tub has (seemingly) drained (It even did it during the last tub clean cycle). When it happens, I can get it going again if I tilt the machine back a bit and drop it to the floor (sometimes it takes a few drops to get it going). Where do I go from here?? I've seen references to the "air pressure receiver" but I thought that was only for filling, not draining.

    • @JCTFIXIT
      @JCTFIXIT  4 роки тому

      Thats is exactly where I would go next! If you have enough savvy, you could jumper your electrical connections to trick the machine to see of ot will run. Likely the diaphragm in the pressure sensor is cracked, or the line to it has a leak so the diaphragm cannot move to make contact.

    • @garyoliwa9855
      @garyoliwa9855 4 роки тому +3

      @@JCTFIXIT Actually, I think the tube leading to the pressure sensor was partially blocked at the tub connection. I couldn't easily blow air into the tube when I disconnected it from the sensor. I took a large syringe of water and forced it down the tube. I could feel the impediment 'let go' and then the tube could easily pass air. I used the same syringe to suck out the water from the drain hose at the base of the machine and pulled out a lot of fine sand with the water. I flushed the sensor tube a few more times, poured water into the drum and sucked everything out of the drain tube with the syringe. Since the machine was apart, I went ahead and changed the pressure sensor anyway just in case, and the machine has worked fine since. Out of curiosity, I took apart the old pressure sensor and inspected it. Didn't see any defects in it so I believe it was just 10 years of fine debris and detergent residue built up where the pressure sensor tube connected to the tub. Lesson learned: Use the tub clean feature more often.

    Some washers have a good imbalance sensor, because when the imbalance sensor senses out there's an imbalance, or if the motor is struggling, the cycle stops, and continues, so that code error never happened in my Vestel.

    • @JCTFIXIT
      @JCTFIXIT  2 роки тому

      This is not a code usually given for unbalanced load. On LG machines if the load is unbalanced it will throw the code UE..... NOT OE

      If you know with certainty that your incoming and outgoing lines are all free and that your pump is working and that your filter is clean I'm honestly not sure what to think but you could power cycle to see if you could get the code to clear.
