  • Man-Boobs (Moobs) are a curse that plagues millions of men of all ages. Many have given up on fixing their man-boobs and just decided to live with them, or even have surgery. Neither of these options is necessary when you understand the root causes of man-boobs, and take the proper steps to shrink them back to normal.

@mrmines2000 this channel is based on a guys opinion..not scientific research..fibre is already welll known to lower cholesterol and cardioprotective and prevent constipation..so you saying all uni courses teaching this should be all scraped cos some guy on youtube says it's bad? Lol

@mrmines2000 ok let's hear from these research about why fruits and fibre is bad for you? Lol I see none mentioned in the articles posted on the links which are all on man boobs.
Btw im an accredited dietitian trained in food science and theres already a plethora of strong studies on the health benefits of fruits and fibre for a long time so nice try lol.
The original OP simply tell people to avoid fruit based on his own opinion...it wasn't from the doctor who was in the video or based on any research. Just some random guy...you know...current recommendation is 30g of fibre daily for men for healthy diet....that number didn't magically appear without longterm studies and research...

Personal opinion here for the two of you. Start eating in season and see how that changes you. Not all fruits and vegetables are year around (yes i know, different places different climate) but only seasonal. Let your food intake be more natural.

Hey Dr. Thanks for the videos. I've been struggling with my weight for my entire adult life. I'm 41 now. I have had really good success in the past with low carb diets, but never stuck to them for very long. I was currently at 493 lbs 9 days ago, and I've already dropped like 30 lbs. I basically just eat boiled eggs, baked chicken thighs, roast beef ect. I've noticed that keto is really the only thing that works for me. I can actually go 36 hours without eating without even trying. I just never feel hungry anymore, so I don't want to eat anything. I can typically eat 2 large pizzas, a couple of orders of chicken wings and a family size brownie all by myself, but I don't have any of those cravings anymore. I'm starting to see a ray of hope. Thanks for all of your inspiration.

consumings things foods and drinks that are estrogen causers will cause manboobs to happen stop consuming estrogen causing foods and drinks then you shouldn't have to worry about having manboobs
only a health issue or drugs and or alcohol can cause it to happen if you don't consume the estrogen causing foods and drinks
and drugs and alcohol that should be obvious things to avoid for several other reasons not just the reason that they could cause manboobs to happen
bread and beer is a big time estrogen causer all of the types of bread and all of the beers not just some of them but all of them are estrogen causers
the higher the estrogen levels are in a man the higher you're body fat levels will be and will increase causing things like a fatty belly/gut and thigh fat and the what people call the double chin fat in that area too and of course the man boobs
if you don't want to be fat especially if you don't want those parctical areas of you're body to be fatty then stop consuming the estrogen causing foods and drinks especially avoid the breads and beers
confuming fish oil can also help it helps kill the fat in the blood obviously that will yeild positive results
so yeah how you eat you're diet that is 1 of the reasons why it matters in the sense of wether you are fat or not and that it will simply help out
internet search what foods and drinks cause estrogen if you don't know what does

It cut my appetite noticeably and since then I have lost almost 30lbs. Dropped from 240lbs to 214lbs today Nov 25th. No diet, road bike riding 3x a week and home gym pull downs and light-ish bench pressing (torn rotator cuff). If you are already on an anti-depressant, might look in to switching. It's not just kept me "lively" during months of "safer at home" (LA County) but also made me get much healthier by losing weight by eating less and reasonably healthy. Unfortunately I am one of the guys who is not fat, and had male breasts that required surgery. No dieting or working out ever got rid of them. Even when I worked out and got to my lowest weight in years, they did not reduce in size even though I got skinnier and stronger.
So, to any guys out there who are in a similar position as me, just know you are not alone. Not all the time male breasts have to do with being obese or fat. Sometimes, they really are just persistent.
My endocrinologist found no underlying hormonal issues, but I had male breasts since elementary school all the way throughout college. It really devastated my mental health and I was on the verge of taking my own life at times. I was never comfortable in my skin. Getting the surgery really changed my life, and I just want to eliminate the stigma that male breasts are only from being fat.
I am 5'10, 180lbs. At my lowest I must have been about 155-160lbs. I worked out consistently and played rugby. Yet, my breasts never reduced in size. I heard from all sorts of people who said to just diet or work out; or that it was baby fat and would disappear over time. None of these things happened and I was never able to enjoy my teenage years as a teenager should.
If you have this problem, get the surgery. I had to pay out of pocket because insurance did not want to pay. I even went through a year and a half battle with insurance to get even partial coverage, and they would not budge. But, for my happiness and being able to feel comfortable in my own body, I refused to let money be the obstacle any longer. Trust me when I say this surgery changed my life.
HOWEVER, if you do find yourself in the overweight to obese category, and don't really work out or eat a healthier diet, then do take into consideration the tips given in this video.

Example; steak broccoli and (carbs), grilled chicken and (carbs), quick carb meal (sandwich), breakfast carbs (cereal). You don’t need the carbs for any of those meals and breakfast you can replace with coffee and Greek yogurt. The carbs along with those meals just taste good. If carbs were the sole cause of moobs, Italian dudes would basically need bras. The problem is carbs need to get burned off or else they get stored as fat and if you’re overweight or have insulin problems, it’s likely that your fat is getting stored in your chest. In Italy, people eat quite a bit of carbs, yet most of the time people there are always moving around; unlike America where it’s usually seated work, driving, and couch along with a meal with simple carbs.

Liposuction...All the other ways take too long. A good plastic surgeon can keep incisions tiny with small scars that eventually will fade anyway over time. I have had liposuction done in different places and it works nicely. If he has more weight to lose, then I would wait till he gets closer to the ideal weight he wants. Lipo is easy, not inexpensive, you are sore for a day or 2 or 3, heals nicely, minimal if any complications. Women do it all the time. Do it in the winter months.

Been doing Keto and intermittent fasting since May of 2022. I have lost about 30 lbs. and now seem to have plateaued at 200lbs. I'd like to be between 165 - 175lbs. Haven't noticed the moobs decreasing in size though. My only exercise is walking 3 - 4 miles every morning, and working around the house and yard. I'd like to try adding a few exercises that would help with the moob issue. Any suggestions appreciated.

@@kamrankhandevil yea so I’ll start with push ups: Always try to hit 100 a day for all push ups first of all. So the first variation of push ups are just regular. Obviously don’t try to go 100 straight. I always did 30,60,90 then do 10-20 more depending on how my arms felt. But if you can’t hit 30 and it’s hard do at least hit 10-15. When you do them make sure you exaggerate it, like go down slow and hold it for a little then slowly push back up and hold for a little, muscles grow faster when you add tension!! 2nd variation(also don’t start these until the regular 100 push ups get easy), they are decline push ups, so feet on the couch or bed or something off the ground. 100 of those, same amount of reps. When that gets easy then you start doing diamond push ups. Same thing for that, and then that last variation which is what I still do today is decline diamond push ups which are hard. So feet up on something but hands in diamond form. Let me also say again, remember for each variation you need too exaggerate your reps to get the full tension and workout. Ever since I started doing these I’ve been able to do 10 pull ups without a break, and I use to not be able to do 2 I stg. Ok if this makes sense to you for the push ups lmk and I’ll tell you about the fasting part!! Let me also add when you get too the last variation, start mixing up all of them so then your working out your whole upper body and not targeting 1 area.

So, it'll make sense once you cut carbs but you have to eat carb at some point. What makes a difference is when you take carb cutting to the ketogenic phase. Once you begin losing weight once you are ketogenic phase you will be burning fat instead of losing water. Remember ketosis starts in the liver than progresses to viscerally stored fat.

    Dr. Ken,
I want to applaud you first and foremost for getting straight to the point and for providing solid steps on how to address the issue/root cause.
I am now subscribed and want to sincerely thank you. I try to educate myself and your words ring true with the research I have done to date and my personal experience.
I am 59 years old and while I still feel (in my mind) like I am 17, my body has been working at Mach speed to convert me into a woman. I am carrying fat in a distribution pattern that matches exactly what you described in this video. I have had some remarkable short-term success with intermittent (dinner only) fasting incorporating high natural fats while limiting sugar as much as possible.
I recently lost 35 pounds in 6 weeks (I needed AVN-related hip surgery and could not get it because of my BMI) using intermittent fasting, high natural fats, and limiting my sugar and alcohol intake. I stopped my alcohol consumption realizing that it was easily my greatest source of carbs with 0 nutritional value (also a likely contributor to my AVN).
Thanks for setting the record straight. I will follow you because you provided straight-to-the-point answers and allowed me to decide if I thought enough of your videos to subscribe and or buy any product that you may offer to help in the fight. I am not against spending some money but first I have to be convinced. Any video that does not get straight to the point is usually a scam to promote a product that is mass-produced and ineffective.
    Cheers Doc,
    Gary

Sir, try going salt free for a couple of weeks. I have the same problem with BP being high all my life. Mine stays in the 140-160 range even with medicines. I cut out everything with salt (and that is very hard to do) ... it is also bland and boring but it actually got my BP down to normal for the first time in my life (without medicines even!). My internet (academic/clinical) research has also shown me that this particular problem (salt hypersensitivity) affects approximately 7 - 13% of the population. In my case, if I exceed 1,00mg (TOTAL.. not just added) salt in a day, my BP goes back up to the 140 to 160 range and it can take 2 or 3 days (of towing the line) to get it back down again.

It’s likely idiopathic essential hypertension. Some have it even without weight gain and a poor diet. Also, simply lowering sodium and increasing potassium may not be enough cuz that pump is tightly regulated by the body and requires other nutrients such as magnesium to help regulate it. On my journey to rediscover healthy living I had some questions about oils, plastics, and H.I.IT. exercising and you are the first person I've heard to say it so plainly. I don't have scientific evidence to back you up, but I do know the small incremental improvements in my health has been leading me into the dietary habits that you described here. I have given up beer, wine and alcohol (maybe 2-3 times a year of max 20 ozs.) I prefer glass storage containers ( I was concerned by the all the plastics in the ocean), I recently discovered the studies on the plant oils you described and I switched to Olive Oil for 6 months and I feel much better and I don't eat out at places that use vegetable oils, and I have cut my grain/sugar intake down by 90-95%. I'l also a type two diabetic, however today is day 14 of my carnivore diet. since starting the carnivore diet my blood sugars have been really really good, I used to be at 210 to 275, but for the last two weeks I've been 102 to 125! I've always had a sweet tooth and did cheat a couple of days ago with a candy bar, but that's all the sugar I've had in two weeks, I've also lost about 5lbs. I can do this and will continue with it. I'm also taking liver capsules and salt electrolyte drink mix and BTW I haven't had any carbs in the last two weeks, so I'm really grateful I saw the Dr. Peterson video as I've liked a lot of the things he has to say! I'll try to keep you informed on my journey! One more thing; I'm a recovering addict with eighteen years and three months clean and sober, so there's that!

My asian husband struggled with this until he cut back on soy products (instead of nightly rice we would eat it 1-2 times a week), I cut out plastic dishes & water bottles, we drink out of mason jars instead. He has cut out all sugar/sodas and drinks either green teas I make or 1 coffee a day. He dropped 4 sizes (mostly eating OMAD) without really trying hard to give up all the things he loves. He seriously cut back on candy & snacks. No more manboobs and we hit the beach this summer and he was a happy man! :)

I'm all in for calorie reduced carnivore. After 8 days I'm down 5 pounds and I feel fine. I have no carbs left in the house to tempt me but I'm feeling good and not hungry at all. I started at 217 pounds and am now 212. Last time I did Keto I ended up at 178 pounds after 3 months but I thought that I could eat some bread and pasta and potatoes occasionally after that. That was a mistake and over the covid winter I constantly gained weight. This time I'm taking your advice and cutting out those starchy carbs forever. The only thing I need is a pizza crust that is really low carbs to permanently keep my weight down and my liver healthy. I also switched from the occasional rum and coke to a shot of vodka or Gin straight up when I feel like a drink or to socialize. Thanks for the good advise.

I did raise eyebrows when I picked up a box of thirty dozen eggs and brought pork fat for my diet, but I lost twenty seven kilograms in one month.
It is amazing that without carbohydrates to stimulate my appetite through sugar crashes I no longer have an urge to gorge myself six times a day and I am now actually working on increasing my fat intake so that I may go longer without being hungry and decreasing my protein intake to protect my kidneys that started acting up when I ate a lot of almonds.
Dehydrating whit imitation vinegar flavored water appears to be helping, I can now get dressed without crippling pain and I can sometimes feel the stones leaving my body when I dehydrate.

I'm 62 y/o. Last year I developed breast cancer. They said the breast cancer fed off of the estrogen in my body. I was drinking a 24 oz can of beer 4-5 times a week. I eat out of plastic bowls. I drink only bottled water. I don't eat a lot of carbs though but it's probably more than I should. I have had man boobs for most of the last 20 years. Now I am starting to wonder if the plastics is a contributing factor in me getting breast cancer. My testosterone level last year was 555. It was 770 5 years before. My. Dr. said my testosterone level was normal for my age. I have no idea if my estrogen level prior to cancer were elevated. After my mastectomy they put me on an estrogen blocker (tamoxifen) but my one remaining man boob is still there. I did stop drinking beer and have not noticed a change in my weight or man boob.

I eat a lot of dairy (keifer, greek yogurt, whey, & cheese) though, there is signifigant amount of estrogen and bovine hormones in dairy though that could be the reason why I struggle with man boobs. I'm probbaly going to go full carnivore and cut out dairy for a month or so and see if there is noticeable difference.

*_"Eat Less, Eat Better, Move More"_* does, 100% work doc. The problem is that *IF* people can stick to it long enough to actually _fix_ the problems they have, whether that be a beer belly with diastasis and/or _"man boobs,"_ once they reach the goal they go back to crap eating, poor sleeping, and stop moving as much and/or in the same fashion.
I have zero problems with someone with someone going on a month long 900 calorie a day keto diet while busting their ass for 2 hours a day at the gym then walking for an hour outside (or inside, wtv) to work off a lot of fat as quickly as possible, but the plan has to be set up for afterwards. Something they can stick to, then adjust up a bit once the goals are reached/changed. Or if the person fails. I had been trying to get a measly 24-hour fast in for over 2 months and kept _failing._ I've done them before. I've done 2.5 day fasts before, but this time I just could not get it. Damn carbs in my diet had me hungry every 30 minutes. It was avsurd. I did finally get it yesterday, on like my 10th try, though I accidentally cheated a little bit. I had a jello I thought was a 5 calorie cup which was really a 90 calorie one. I was a little more than pissed when I noticed the slightly different packaging this morning, so I'm going to try again today I guess. Stupid.
Anyway, good advice, but again, the eat less, eat better, move more does work great. Short term. There are also down sides to dropping a ton of weight fast though. At 15 I had a growth spurt and went from 5'4" 235lbs to 5'10". I'd decided to lose weight that Summer as well, and literally played basketball about 7 hours per day, 5-7 days per week. There was, unfortunately no weight training. I was also broke, and could legit only afford 2 $0.89 cent cheeseburgers from McDonald's daily. So that's essentially what I ate for an entire Summer. I went from 235 to 175lbs. I looked pretty darn good...until I took my shirt off. Bc I didn't do any resistance training, not even pushups or pullups, I had a shit ton of extra skin. I also didn't start working out until I was in my late 20's so I obviously still have stretch marks, though the extra skin is gone (no operation, just filled out since muscle takes up far more space than fat does). So 60lbs in 2 months is certainly possible, if you're body can handle it, but I couldn't live like that. I also did gain the weight back, but it was mostly do to exercise and adding push/pulls into my every day life.
As for a carb _free_ life...Idk, I personally do not enjoy it at all. *ALL* of my favorite foods, literally every one in my top 20 is full of carbs in one way or another. So I'm cool kith cyclical Keto for a couple of months, but _for me,_ a no carb lifestyle does not work. I might be happy with how I look, but I am not happy in general. I like steak. But not without potatoes or a bread. After a few bites of steak on it's own and I'm all set. Same with porkchops, chicken, sword fish (that's what I ended my fast with yesterday btw), ground beef, bacon etc etc.. I like them all, but the only one that really sounds good too me and is keto friendly would be white chicken over a handful of baby spinach, a handful of romaine lettuce, a half a cucumber, three really, really thin slices of tomato (about 1oz) with 2Tb Olive Oil and 3Tb Apple Cider Vinegar. Any of them plain is just something to put in my body to live. It does make Keto *_DIETS_* exceptionally easy for me though, since I have a tough time forcing myself to eat over 1k calories of fat/protein per day with under 15 net carbs.
The alcohol thing is also great advice, and often the most difficult for people to follow. People often don't realize how much and how often they drink, and when they stop, they are not all that happy for a few days. The jitters, trouble sleeping...not full blown alcohol withdrawals, but I've had a *LOT* of clients/friends who still smelled like liquor whne they sweat profusely at the gym a couple of days after stopping altogether. Most drank a mix of beer, wine and hard liquor in mixed drinks though, so it was tough for them to tell how much they were actually consuming. Since a *LOT* of bartenders will put 2oz of Vodka, 2oz of Gran Marnier, and 2oz of Blue Caracoe in some crazy mixed drink they have 4 of, and they do it every other day during the week along with Saturday and a Sunday filled with beer and football, well they find out real quick they weren't just having a half case of beer on the weekends.
So watch the alcohol calories when you're losing weight. It _might_ be affecting more than just your guy tits ;^) . And stay away from the sugar addons. No fruit juices or sugary soda mixed drinks. Stick with clears. Your diet and your body will thank you. And yes, the hangover effect from clears is a lot less intense bc your pancreas isn't pumping out 3 times the insulin to get things done while your liver and kidneys do far less work getting gin or vodka out of your system than Southern Comfort or Jack n Coke. Idk, I'd only drink once I was around my target goals, and I would not bother drinking unless it was to really feel it. I don't mean fall down then throw up at home, but casually drunk? If I can only have a couple of drinks with the alcohol content of a beer, I'd personally rather have water and just be...well me. Then use those garbage 300 calories on a _bad carb_ I really like. ei a side of home made mashed potatoes! Or a small slice or chocolate frosted angel cake with 1/8th of a cup of ice cream. Yeah, I'm going with that over a Coors any day.
Good luck folks, and if you're like me and keep failing at fasting (I have to as I've been going crazy on carbs the last couple of years. They're making up about 55%-60% of my diet so I need a reset badly. *ALWAYS* being hungry sucks, and the more carbs you are used to eating, the more often and faster you are hungry. It's ridiculous sometimes. 30 minutes after a 1000 calorie meal I already want to eat again. Stomach growling and all.), or you keep falling off whatever your meal and I hope exercise happens to be; just keep trying. You will get it. Heh, just watch out for the J-E-L-L-O! Stupid tricky jello cup making me try again bc I feel like I cheated. Erg.
Seriously though, when I started trying again it was just going 12 hours without food. Then 15. Then 17, which is where I started to cave, but after a couple of weeks at 17 I finally got the 24 not counting that yummy gelatin snack. I knew it tasted too good. Just getting that one day has already made today far easier though, and I woke up at 5:15am, so...enough from me. I'm grabbing a green tea with a teaspoon of cinnamon then it's back to work. Good fun!

Hello, can I ask you a question? I have a boyfriend, and he is very big and fat, and he have a man boobs also. Sometime when we sleep together at my room, he squeeze my breast and say " babe, I'm shy of you, how can my chest is bigger than you, when I squeeze your breast it's just like squeezing a small cupcakes, and when I'm squeeze my chest, it feels like I'm squeezing a watermelon " and when I hear that, I just feel like oh my God, as a girl, my breast is smaller than my boyfriend 🙂 And my question is, how can you control your desire to stop eating food with very high estrogen?

HIIT training as a 36 year old man has changed my life. Once you lower your weight and body fat and get back your flexibility and mobility, crossfit will change your life completely. No need to lift weights....

With all due respect, I (as well as much medical literature) have to disagree with your definition of gynecomastia. It is not restricted to pubescent boys. I am 66 yo and have been on a strict ketogenic diet for the past 18 months. I don't take any of the meds you listed and don't drink alcohol. I recently developed classic unilateral gynecomastia confirmed by US and mammogram. It is a painful inflammation under the nipple. What you describe in this video is basically just a flabby (fatty) chest.

I lost my moobs by increasing my testosterone which I did by increasing the amount and duration of sex in my life. I’m sure switching to keto and avoiding all sugar helped a bit but I really believe it was my increase in testosterone method was the main factor. I have to give credit to the women in my life for suggesting it. Cheers

I actually do believe 99.5% of what you said. Yet, I have this niggling thought...
I do know that rice is readily converted to alcohol. But if eating rice is making insulin spike, then why is every asian riced-based society not under a huge wave of diabetes?
Asians also love cigarettes, corn oil, and alcohol. Rice + alcohol = 40% of their diet.
Why r we dying of diabetes? I agree that it is the food. But exactly which ones?
