Can you do this same vid on the new 9 with the 12th Gen Intel? Alder lake with the HE / HP cores is a big improvement but I suppose the 96 EU Iris Xe is still the same so I’m curious ?

A friend and I had Surface Pro 3’s when they first came out and were surprised that we could play EQ2 on them without dedicated graphics.
yo help me out i just got it not even a week old and i cant even play phasmophobia and that is a really small game and runs with 1 fps but u can run gta with way more

Excellent video. Do you suggest to update the Intel graphics driver or stay with the Microsoft version?
I am using the Intel drives and I am aggressively updated them when new updates come out! I have not tested out games recently to see if there has been a speed increase but the system has become more and more stable over time!
How about games like Manager? Can you run full players data base?

I was able to get halo infinite running fine with a Razer core x egpu but yeah not playable natively.. is this the i5 or i7? Have you tried using a fan?
What graphics card did you use? I have the i7 and I recently bought a stand / fan for the surface… the difference is mind blowing. Stay tuned for sure when that video goes live!

I’m considering buying a surface because I like the laptop/tablet stuff but I do want to have a Xbox/pc exclusive laptop backup. I’m on ps5 so while the laptops not mainly for gaming I want something I could play specifically starfield on as well as other Xbox titles. Do you think this could do that? Or do you have a better recommendation?

@@AcridDragoon I wasn’t really aware of the benefits of cloud gaming but the guy at Best Buy mentioned that the graphics cards and such weren’t as important if you cloud game, so that’s what I’ll probably do. I ended up with the surface studio i7 with a rtx 3050

I think Titanfall 2 is still being targeted by ddos attacks. you should try Titanfall 2 with northstar laucher. look it up on yt

For anyone looking. I played sims 3/4 and expansions on my Surface pro 6 in 2018 with high graphics. A surface pro 7 played FFXIV:ARR decently high performance

This is super encouraging for a slimmed-down all-in-one solution to gaming AND productivity! Was this the I7 model? 16 GB of RAM?
I'm using the i7 16gb version for big photoshop files, light CAD modelling and even rendering. AND I casually play BF4 on low settings getting like 55 fps. If you're a techie and need a light and extremely portable device, this is the one. The small screen is not perfect for fps games, but playing battlefield in a cafeteria is super pleasing. The future will only bring better drivers and better tablets like this.

I know! Hopefully we can get our hands on it to do some videos. I’m very curious on the thermals! The surface pro 8 doesn’t throttle the cpu but the chassis heat lowers the wattage available which is an issue… I am a bit concerned with the z13 flow but only time will tell!

I experienced that as well. Halo Infinite just runs like trash, even on higher end machienes.

@@ricyknight8595 I wound up getting the Surface Pro X. My main computer is one of the new MacBook M1's and I have been impressed with ARM hardware, so I figured I give the X a try. I already new EverQuest runs fine on Win11 for ARM, but it's against EULA to run in virtual software like Parallels. I wanted an in-expensive, small machine, that wouldn't heat up like a camp stove when running a 20 year old game. EVERQUEST barely gets the X warm. I'm happy to have gotten rid of Windows 'gaming' laptops that run hot and loud when the fan gets going.
@@michaelholbrook4401 The surface and the MacBook aren’t “gaming” laptops. Just buy the Acer nitro 5. It has 2 times the power and the optimisation and can run more than 100 fps on EverQuest with a 144hz screen. The fans aren’t even loud and it only costs 800$.

Surface products would run better if Windows wasn't so bloated with spyware. They even said that Windows 11 lowers performance by something ridiculous like 20% compared to windows 10. Maybe it is time to switch to Linux. What do I really need from windows that Linux doesn't have?
Windows 11 lowered performance by 20% on older chips that didn't have a certain chip in them, it had to emulate this chip in software, all the time, which lowered performance by 20%. All (recent) surface PC's and modern machines by other manufacturers have this chip. So most people most likely have it.
