@@Tygrysek1993For example due to the larger Ultra Wide sensor the Macro photos look worse and have a too large short focus limit. So you can not get as close to an object as it was possible with the 15 Pro or 13 Pro. And in my experience you can only make good makro photos with the 16 in very good light conditions. And also the short focusing limit of the main sensor is utopian high. Its impossible to make an close up image with the full 48MP. Another advantage: Increased distance between the lenses. When iPhone 15 pro spatial video was announced, I was immediately skeptic, because the lenses are way too close. For spatial videos, you need 2 different perspectives, but the perspectives are too similar if cameras are too close. With this camera arrangement, they wouldn't use the middle lens but the left and right one, basically doubling the depth of spatial videos.
This will save the whole apple vision project. A lot of spatial content will be produced with higher quality as well. Can't wait to watch it on Quest 3.
Spatial video’s aspect ratio is 1:1, so doesn’t matter which orientation it’s recorded in. I’m surprised people had such a hard time realizing you could record vertically on this new phone lol
How about the consistency while zooming? I bet triangle design is what apple goes with. Regarding multiple recordings, it’s not needed. They can record a square and output vertical or horizontal. Similar to 360 cameras.
@@mynk_rjputyes because an equilateral rectangle makes the distance between cameras identical, which means a smoother transition. However, it’s not a big deal, like all the new premium features on any smartphone.
@mynk_rjput No, they aren't, or can't speak for the pixel 9, but s24 ultra, pixel 8 and earlier versions, NO. But it's not because of hardware placement, it's because of software and hardware performance. Apple blends the 2 cameras tougher in a much more controlled and smooth way, it almost never lags when it does the changeover and the cameras have a very similar color profile. Samsung and Google tend to spaw camera one frame to the next, if you zoom fast on samsung it has to switch cameras 2 times and that second transition lags and so on. Iphones give the impression you have one camera, just different zoom and orientation, samsung in particular give you 3-5 different cameras
Sorry, but record horizontal video while holding the phone vertically is DUMB. If this is what Apple doess then I am 100% skipping that iPhone, but pretty sure Apple would not record spatial videos before doing that...
Yes it's dumb, Isn't it using less of the Sensor by doing that? You're not taking advantage of the full sensor size by shooting vertical for a horizontal shot.
It’s recording “horizontal” in vertical but you don’t see it. Not until you go back in the settings as if you wanted to change your focus point or blur in the current iPhone photo edits… after the fact. Using the whole sensor for “safety” but you only see the rendition of what you record on the screen. Panasonic S5II does this currently

You want to be able to record both at the same time for social media, because they have different views and it looks weird cropped. Vertical recording is very useful, and this would be a huge benefit to any creators.
As a stills photographer, the changes that’d get me most interested would be actually larger sensors (not just more megapixels) so we could see better dynamic range and better native resolution, for both better raw and jpeg files.

Given most people instinctly hold phone vertically taking photos-videos with the phone shape as it is, this Landscape-Portrait double image taking feature is a MUST. GoPro has always, as far as I understand, allowed for Landscape image taking regardless how the GoPro is held. Holding phone given the rectangular shape of all phones always would dictate the necessary camera hardware features for image taking. I likely then delay my first iPhone purchase till this feature is introduced.
First world problems are so vexing. OMG, Apple will solve the huge problem of having to hold the phone vertically or horizontally when taking photos and videos.
My word is a lot of smooth brain people in this comment section. 😂 the idea of recording it vertical and horizontal regardless of how you hold your phone is what's really being highlighted here.?that way you never need the crop or edit and rotate so it's not a matter of how you hold your phone it's just simply a matter of... And for a lot of video makers that don't watch the video as they are recording they simply have their phone propped up it's not going to matter if the video window is smaller when they're recording and portrait because they're not going to be actively looking at their phone.
Right now, there conflicting rumors on whether the iPhone 17 Pro models will keep the familiar triangular rear sensor configuration we've seen since the iPhone 11 Pro models. I think Apple has prototyped this familiar design and a new design with a rear camera configuration similar to that of the Google Pixel 9 Pro models, and may decide on a final design probably by late January 2025.

Most likely, this module would have a polished finish to stand out from the matte body, where the glass, in the same tone and matte finish, would create a smooth transition. I’m still unsure whether there will be a polished chamfered ring around the circular module.

What do you use for voice dubbing with translation? If you could make a tutorial on this topic, that would be great. In any case, everything is perfect for the dubbing in French ;)
Well no. 1. Spacial video is almost definitely not coming to the 5x telephoto since that would require a 5x crop on the main sensor, so one eye would be way lower resolution, unless they just record with the 5x and process the image to shift the perspective with the main, but then wouldn't the lidar be a better option... I doubt any of it. Zoomed in VR doesn't make sense anyway. 2. Vertical Horizontal recording is just dumb the way you decribed it. For one it's not intuitive, and second the way you proposed it would work is probably the worst way. It would zoom in the entire image and make the quality worse. If they want to make that happen they'd have to make a square sensor and oversize it so the corners don't get any light from the lens) they they either choose the middle horizontal 6000p and all vertical 8000p or the other way around. The square sensor would also enable the extra stabilized mode to get full horizon lock the same way Insta 360 does it, but I doubt any of that would come to the IPhone for a while
Dual video recording isn't something new. I can shoot dual video on my phone but it's only limited to front and back main camera together and it is limited to 1080p but still that's dual video. So, the iPhone won't be the first phone to do dual video recording
Sounds like another gimmick that doesn't actually improve quality. The main camera has stayed the same since the 14pro and from comparisons I've seen, going from 12mp to 48mp hardly added any clarity or detail to the pictures. It's a trick. Wish they'd make the Sensors bigger, or Lower the F/Stops more. They stopped focusing on Low Light.
iPhone 17 pro max looking promising but I hope Apple stays with titanium because it’s more premium and stronger, aluminum is too brittle if you drop it it’s game over since Apple started with stainless steel and titanium I’ve never had problems with my phone being dropped
How about the front camera. We want better lens. They suck! Selfie camera are the number 1 most used and yet it’s not great. Makes you look horrible with the distortion when you capture the image.
I don't believe Apple will go with horizontal camera design... It would make the Camera Control button which was main feature of 16 series totally useless and dumb move. They literally promoted it as a "shutter-like" button to use with your iPhone horizontally and now they would dump it?

The square sensor would also enable the extra stabilized mode to get full horizon lock the same way Insta 360 does it, but I doubt any of that would come to the IPhone for a while
They need to add flip phones with their products. Add 2TB for it’s upgradable feature.
bad ending: apple launches moto action
Really need a refresh design for iPhone & MacBook Pro
MacBook Pro? Seriously?
How are you supposed to redesign a laptop?
Improved more functional Touch Bar, optional clicky keyboard with lighting, some design on the chassis… need someone like Steve Jobs to be innovative
@@meat_loves_wasabi Not exactly a redesign other than the chassis, but okay
iOS is becoming Android, iPhone 17 is becoming Google Pixel. Why did we not switch directly to Pixel?? 😂
vertical recording would make the new camera button useless imo
I Hope you saw the new leaks ........
I think it will be the first time that every camera on 17 pro will shoot at 24MP default.
Interesting idea, you might be on to something. 👍
🤔 what about wide angle?
Who needs spatial video? 🤔
iPhone 17 pro max looking promising but I hope Apple stays with titanium because it’s more premium and stronger, aluminum is too brittle if you drop it it’s game over since Apple started with stainless steel and titanium I’ve never had problems with my phone being dropped
I’m feeling the iPhone 17 pro max
How about the front camera. We want better lens. They suck! Selfie camera are the number 1 most used and yet it’s not great. Makes you look horrible with the distortion when you capture the image.
iPhone 17 series will have 24MP selfie camera.
@ But what about the lens itself? Any thought of it will be for the 17 or 18?
Could care less if the design copies Google Pixel...other companies have been copying Apple's hardware and software features for decades.
Sounds like we won’t need the shutter button- excuse me, camera control, anymore if we’re shooting vertically.
I don't believe Apple will go with horizontal camera design... It would make the Camera Control button which was main feature of 16 series totally useless and dumb move. They literally promoted it as a "shutter-like" button to use with your iPhone horizontally and now they would dump it?
