Would be cool if you did a video on how to juggle lots of camping and 4wdriving with a missus who hates it lol. I just take the kids and leave her at home. Just means every second trip is to some expensive urban jail by the beach. Resorts I think they call them
I had the same issues mate. I just have to go the extra mile to make her some what comfortable, invested in a camper trailer a must have is hot water for showers, chemical toilet, a good matress and carry plenty of water for washing her hair lol. But it's worth goin the extra mile to keep her comfortable the memories are priceless and my boys enjoy the freedom and lack of noise restrictions that camping provides compared to the urban jails. And over time she has come around. She's actually talking about ditching the trailer goin to a roof top tent and travelling to the Cape, even tho she knows the luxuries will be few and far between. I'm so keen for this trip😁 years of over camping has paid off🍾🍾
You are an inspiration, what better way to get people out and doing it. Well shot and explained. And thanks for actually showing the route on the map, I spend a lot of time wondering where you have been. Well done, keep up the great work 👍👍👍
Great breakdown Tyler for folks outside of Victoria. As a Victorian, I just pack up my GU and just head out and like you said the best part about the Vic High Country is 'IT'S FREE'. No passes, permits or fee required and it should be like that every where across Australia. Nature should be enjoyed with no costs involved, having said that, we as 4WDrivers and campers have an added responsibilty to look after nature by keeping it clean and not digging up tracks. Cheers, loved your episodes on the Vic High Country and hope you come back again.
Another top video Tyler…. The only place you need a permit for is Mt Skene in the winter for snow trips and think you need to be in a 4wd club to do so. Keep the great content coming..😎
Well done Tyler . I am like you and do all of my VHC trips on my own . No passenger and no other car . Twin locked MU-X , 12,000 lb winch and enough recovery gear to put ARB out of business .
Great video mate and great info, being a Victorian myself and travel up to the high country a lot, I still found this video and your other videos very helpful, great job mate👌👍
Awesome episode legend. So informative and inspiring. Like you basically said, you’ll never know if you never go. So keen to do the high county with my little family. Show them how special our country really is.😎🤙 Stay safe mate.
Another great informative vid mate. People if your new to 4wd buy a map or two and get out there and explore. That's what Tyler has done and look at him now
Someone gives u a thumb down 🤣🤣🤣🤣 must be seriously jealous or what. Awesome series & a great way to wrap it up. Can't wait for your next adventure. Your content is always fantastic same for the video quality. BEST 4x4 channel imo 🤟
sound advice on travelling solo.......after all .....it is the journey not the destination that makes the adventure. cheers from 2 west aussies in Saudi
Very informative as always 4wding solo yep that why your video are so good shows just what is possible when wheeling by yourself Keep it up mate it awesome
Yeah we live in gippsland and been up through dargo...and bit up littlecrooked road Its just super.... Terriffic video..great spots to camp and enjoy.... TT
Highcountry is my back yard very well explained mate love ya work don't speak too soon about permits n passes give it another few years I recon and we will have too book a site but I bloody hope not . Cheers for another good vid 👌👌👌👌
I guess if your on your own , as long as you have a plan b , ie EPIRB , BUT remember the emergency services recover you ,NOT your vehicle. No insurance cover and no recovery could be a huge financial loss.
Welcome to the high country. The most rugged beautiful part of the planet, that is why I live here. Please stick to the National and State parks. Last week some 4wds went around my private property sign and took a shortcut through my property. Please show some respect, as I know 99.9% of you do. Thanks.
Have you considered a collaboration with Dan Grec of the road chose me. He's actually Australian but has lived in Canada for some time. Have a look at his channel the road chose me. He's done Alaska to Argentina and been all around Africa. His current expedition is Australia for about 18 months. He's just got out of 2 weeks quarantine in a Sydney hotel and his starting his build of a jeep gladiator. I think a link up / collaboration with you would make great video and benefit both your channels.
the do gooders in QLD r wrecking the camping in that state. Frazer Island is a prime example. Frazer was the place to go, camp anywhere with campfires now it should be called do gooder island, Moreton now. of course u can do these trips solo. all u need is the right gear but more importantly u need a brain not saw dust.
On the ANZAC day LWE the lady at the Kozi parkes gate was like: "HAVE YOU BOOKED AT TOM GROGGIN?" I went nope, why would I, its free and better across the river!
With all due respect to tyler but if you need advice on the vic high country best to watch locals or someone like Tim Bates who has been going there for 40+ years
So you don't agree with anything I said in this video? Don't need to be going to the high country for over 40 years to give some advice on it. I've done 6 big trips there now so reasonably familiar with the place
Would be cool if you did a video on how to juggle lots of camping and 4wdriving with a missus who hates it lol.
I just take the kids and leave her at home. Just means every second trip is to some expensive urban jail by the beach. Resorts I think they call them
🤣🤣🤣🤣 urban jail. Best description I've ever heard. Hate the places.
I have the exact same situation, Id like to know the secret too
She’ll get her way and you’ll be staying in motels & resorts.
Mate every now and then do Extra jobs around the house, and earn a hall pass LOL
I had the same issues mate. Spoken by a man with actual first-hand real-life experience in and of the Vic. high country. Good job! 👍🏻🙏🏽😷🦘
Cheers mate!
I bloody love starting Sunday mornings with a vid from Tyler! Love your work mate 👍
Thanks mate!
People have been going missing up through there in recent years. That adds another element of excitement when you're on your own at night.....😁
I believe in doing trips on your own. You are right, you need to prepare more, but there is a special freedom that it represents.
Such an inspiration to many of us.
You are an inspiration, what better way to get people out and doing it. Well shot and explained. And thanks for actually showing the route on the map, I spend a lot of time wondering where you have been. Well done, keep up the great work 👍👍👍

Thanks mate! Hopefully no passes for a long time yet
i dont think there will be sites booking unless its the big main areas
Qld Govt nuffy’s are already talking about a Visa type of system to visit the state, and only if you’ve been vaccinated.
well done mate

Almost 40K subs 👍🏿
Great episode mate, what’s your thoughts on the Gaia GPS mapping ?
I really like it mate, goes well. I just download the maps for an area before I go
Grate tips mate I really won't to go to the high country me the misses and my 4 girls 2 more mods then I'm off
How much fuel do you need ? .... A bit more than you use .
Holy crap I want a magnetic stubby cooler
They are pretty cool 😁
dartmouth high country tour next ?? maybe eildon ??
Yep I have done the Dartmouth area on a previous trip but keen to do it again soon!
@@TylerThompson90 i think this channel is missing the famous cape york

Hey mate, how long was your trip? (on your latest high country trip)
We were there about 8 days mate
Best time of the year is when you can lol 😂
I reckon you spend more time editing out your bloopers than you do filming!
Some super info mate but stop giving away our spots! ;-)
And the next question is are you a relative of Dan Haggerty
On the ANZAC day LWE the lady at the Kozi parkes gate was like: "HAVE YOU BOOKED AT TOM GROGGIN?"
I went nope, why would I, its free and better across the river!

idk why i’m watching this when i should watch Ronny’s vid
Tyler Thompson & Ronny Dahl videos are the best. Way better than what’s on offer on free to air tv. Way better.
Off you go then.....dont let the door hit you on the arse on the way out.
I might go for 4wd 24-7 but I kind of dislike them
