  • After almost two years, there’s a new, easy-to-take Covid-19 pill treatment. Merck’s molnupiravir drug could be available as soon as the end of the year if it gets authorized by the FDA. It would help make Covid-19 a more manageable disease, marking a pivotal turning point in the pandemic.

      I would consider taking it. It would be good to report on why the development of this pill was delayed and the politics that prevented that. For instance reporting on the role of Rick Bright in stopping government funding to accelerate the development of the drug. That would be some real and balanced reporting.

      Let me answer by saying: the handling of Covid to date has defied anything science I know. This med should have been released like mid last year. The vax are more complex and complicated to make than meds like Molnupiravir. Why have all scientists been against meds and promoting vaccines?! Like someone mentioned in the this comments section, see the coverage this video has had a week after it's posted.
      Having said this: meds make more sense to me than vax. YES, 101% I'd go for the med, rather than the vax.

    so my mother, who is 95 myself who is 60 and my son, who is 33 all have Covid. Both Mum and I were put on antivirals. mum only had symptoms for a day. My symptoms are lingering, it tends to come in Waves but my son who is unvaccinated and no antivirals have the exact same symptoms as Mum and I so I really don’t see that these antivirals have done much at all….. I was told by my doctor that this particular brand has hardly any interactions with other drugs that you might be on, but it is not as strong as the other anti-viral that you can get here in Australia.

      The two drugs have a completely different mechanism of action with Molnupiravir creating mutations in viral replication and Ivermectin suppressing viral replication temporarily, each for the duration of treatment. I am aware however, that you're trying to make more of a political point here, rather than a medical or scientific one.

      @@mswhoeverwhatever Nobody ever claimed the vaccine prevents you from getting covid. It trains your immune system to respond to covid without you having to be infected beforehand. It reduces the likelihood of catching covid, significantly reduces the symptoms of covid if you do get infected, and significantly reduces your likelihood of dying from covid. This pill doesn't prevent you from getting covid either, and does not replace a vaccine in any way.

      @Matys1975 2 роки тому

      This is not nearly as effective at keeping you out of the hospital as Pfizer or Moderna vaccine and requires starting to take the drug at the right when it’s not too late. Also, this drug was tested on less than 1,000 people. Pfizer and Moderna had 70,000 people combined in their phase 3 clinical trials. But I see why people would like this new drug: because even though it’s experimental and the long term side effects are unknown it does not have “vaccine” in its name. For some that will be a huge selling point.
