Plan to do this too. You are an amazing artist and mother. Much love to you and yours. Heart Heart Heart................................................... ♥♥♥♦♥♥♥ See...I figured it out just for you! How to send hearts!!!!! You inspired me.
that was funny! you did a great job ! yr door would look good in black satin finish too ! I bought black spray paint yesterday to do my windows. getting the edges dead straight freaks me out !
2 year update howd it hold up? Not sure if i chose the wrong dpray paint or maybe its the uber hot summers and sometimes below 0 winters bit mine didnt last a full year before chipping off everywhere 😢
But when you slide the window open, isn't there still a white strip where the sliding window edge recesses behind the window frame? I'm thinking I want to take out any moving parts, paint them individually, then pop the window back in, no?
Looks great! I have been afraid to do my windows, mostly because I want to also do the insides and I have a lot of windows and not sure about that volume and wear and tear inside. But, the reason I'm commenting is because I think you should paint your garage doors black. We have a light colored house and painted ours black and they look amazing. It was easy, it only took like 4 hours total. I did it with a Wagner paint sprayer and Behr straight to metal paint. Same concept only much easier tape job. Hardest part is getting the paint inbetween the panels, but it was still very simple.
You should have given them a light sand first, then rubbed them down with acetone, then give them a light mist first coat, then light sand again, dust them down, and then another two coats. That paint is going to peel off unfortunately.
@goodmoody Came here to see this awesomeness and you gave me the confidence to do mine. I have SEVEN exterior windows to do this to (two story house). So this should be loads of fun!!! Wanna come help tape?! 🙃 Ps. When will you paint the garage?
Hi. Great job. After seeing your video, I did mine too. :) Now that the windows have been exposed to the Utah heat and sun a while, and now the cooler temps, have you noticed any changes in the vinyl? Is there warping or chipping? Thank you in advance for the response.
Awesome Janine! I hope you are loving them. Mine still look great - same as the first day we did them. No chipping or warping. They are north facing windows though, so they never get any direct sun.
I want to do this too, but I'm concerned about peeling and warping since black and other dark colors absorb instead of reflect heat like white does. I think it's a potential problem, with vinyl windows being the most at-risk. My backyard (where I also want to get my sliding door painted) gets a lot of direct sunlight because it faces the south...
Painting white vinyl windows black is NOT recommended. Yes the paint will stick to the plastic. No it will not protect you from the excessive heat that will accumulate in the window frame under certain conditions. You are risking thermal stresses that can warp your windows. In this case it looks like she's doing a north window so she's probably going to be OK. You will find videos on UA-cam where professional painters advise against this.
Never seen or heard of that problem. All the sht iv paints that’s still outside and has been outside for 20 plus years 😂. She’s using the wrong paint tho
Good luck!! It has been so worth it for us. I still feel proud when I pull up to my house 😂 The windows still look great, luckily. They don’t get any direct sunlight so it’s possible that has helped them last longer?
Masking is an art in itself. Before you get to a pro level don’t keep it on the roll. Take lengths about a cubit long and use the tear direction to get it into the corner. Don’t be afraid to do it piecemeal. One long piece is very satisfying but utterly unnecessary. The tape just needs to do the job you need it to do.
Thank you Ashleigh! Can’t learn unless you try I guess. My Dad’s only comment after watching the video was, “I could have taped that window in three minutes” 😂😂
@@goodmoody6844 😂 I'm not new to taping as my husband and I are HUGE diyers. We completely did our interior- which included but not limited to moving a staircase, all new built by use kitchen cabinets, dinning table, bathroom vanity. We also completely remodeled not 1 but 2 campers. Now, in the Spring we will paint our vinyl siding, garage doors, brink entry and now our window frames.
Look the candidness. This is what real life is like not all the edited idealized videos that gave ppl false expectations
Great final appearance. Dramatic improvement
A celebrity commenting on my video?!??? 🤩🤯😍
Wow! What an incredible transformation!!!
Thanks FED!! Your videos are inspiring. Thank you for speeding goodness ♥️
Good job! Love the humor and honesty!
Great Job!! You should paint the trim around your window white, it will make the black windows stick out
Great job. I'd also paint the front door black as well.
Just did this to my house. Came out awesome. Thanks!
Proud of you Nate 👏 diy is no joke lol
You did a great job! Hopefully your man helped you out on the rest of the windows!
Great work. Thanks for your insight!
Amazing job!! Love the before and after pics!!
Thanks Allie!! Before and afters are always my favorite part of videos 😍
So it’s been 1 yr. How have they held up? Have you had any problem with the window sticking?

Great job! Looks slick and revitalised your windows completely. I just did mine today. Gonna have to see what's in store tomorrow morning 🌄
Awesome! I hope it turned out great and that you are still loving it!
Great job love it. Will def try it. I just love your boy singing hahaha
Ok that little prayer. Cutest haha
😂 right?! 😍😍
Were those functional windows? I want to do this but I worry that opening and closing the windows will rub the paint.
2 year update howd it hold up? Not sure if i chose the wrong dpray paint or maybe its the uber hot summers and sometimes below 0 winters bit mine didnt last a full year before chipping off everywhere 😢
That looks beautiful!!
Thanks Yesseth!!
Hilarious! I’m right there with you, I’m not a DIY’er either, but seriously think I can do this.
Yes girl!! You got this!! People keep telling me there is this better tape called Frog Tape that is way easier to use - so maybe look into that
You were so funny, this turn out great 😊
Thank you Erica!!!
Update us how are the black windows holding up
Look great watching from Louisville, Kentucky

It looks great how’s it holding up after 2 years? I’m wanting to do mine not sure what paint to go with
I love Ezra!!! So supportive 😂😂😂
So after 2 years how is it holding up
How many cans of paint did you use for each window? And 2 years later, is it still holding up?
Looks great.
Thanks Jason!
Its been 2 yeaes now How's the paint holding up
Great job! I think i might do this, thank you.
Go for it!! It is completely worth it.
What color is your actual house? Is it a grey white?
How is the paint holding up after one year?
This video screams "I'm Mormon". Also "i dont know wtf I'm doing".
You should have given them a light sand first, then rubbed them down with acetone, then give them a light mist first coat, then light sand again, dust them down, and then another two coats. That paint is going to peel off unfortunately.
great job, whats the exterior paint color
Great job! Where did you get that spray paint by Behr ?? I have never seen that
I got it at Home Depot :)
Nice job!
How has it held up?
They still look great! Fingers crossed it stays that way 🤞
looks great. Is that satin or semi gloss paint?
I love the way your husband just standing waiting to see what you’re gonna do. Ha
Great job
great job
Nice job!!! Did u do the garage door on video?
We will! Garage doors are still basic white for now. I have the paint though so, it will happen soon!

I can't get over the mountain view
That looks great but now the door needs a new color!
Yes, I am recognizing this DIY stuff is a never ending journey lol
3:00 the CONFIDENCE you went into that with! No hesitation
Turned out to be false confidence… lol
@@goodmoody6844 😅 fake it til you make it! It turned out great in the end!
Paint the trim around your window BLACK. It with make your window look fabulous.
Curious how it is holding up through the seasons? Or overall-
It has been nearly two months and it still looks great. No chipping. Fingers crossed it stays that way!!
@@goodmoody6844 sweet!!!! Well im in!!!! Thx for the vid
A razor scraper would easily take the paint off the glass. Tape should always be pulled off while paint is still wet to avoid pulling the paint off.

Question is how does it lasts? would like to see after a year in a sunny place

Looks great! Can I ask what your exterior paint color is?
White?! I have no idea what specific shade of white… sorry 🙈 still a noob here
Looks great, but what paint did you used
Thanks! I used Behr paint+primer spray paint in flat black 🖤
Hey I’m super curious on how your windows are doing now? Did you have to do any touch ups in the past nine months?
They look great! No touch-ups needed yet. They are north facing windows though and never get any direct sunlight - so that might help?
Do door black or Pop of color
are ur windows vinyl

Bonding primer.
What paint spray did you use?
Behr paint and primer indoor/outdoor spray paint in matte black. I show the can up close at 3:00 minutes
Yes in Geedoo Kwise name!!! Amen!!!
Thank u for sharing

That is excellent advice. One big piece is so unwieldy!
Now that’s a lot of damage!
But wait, there's more!
I think you definitely did a great non diyer video! You should be proud of yourself!
Thank you Ashleigh! Can’t learn unless you try I guess. My Dad’s only comment after watching the video was, “I could have taped that window in three minutes” 😂😂

How come you didn’t wear a mask?
Paint garage door black
Just bought a house and I want to paint the beige windows black. Thanks for the realistic portrayal. Now I know what to expect! Hugs💕✨
You got this!! It will make such a difference 😍
That pretaped plastic tape sucks. I like to put down painters tip first then apply the pretaped plastic the add duck tape to hold it down
and your door black!
Great idea!! Maybe garage next and then the front door?? 🤩
Front door leave the same, garage doors yes paint.
I have this feeling you are on your way to being a DIYer…. 🤪
Thank you for believing in me Valerie lol
That’s why we use the expensive frog tape
And razor blades
I saw that stuff at the store and wondered… now I wish I would have bought it!
I thought she was going to paint the glass, I was like WTF??
Next time use frog tape prevent paint from bleeding through
You didn't paint the windows black. You painted the trim black.
Actually that's the window frame she painted, which is the window. The trim is still white, I would have painted that black also.
Next time u
Fim
How have they held up?
