May I know in which direction the damping takes place for the gas spring? I read online that there are two types of gas springs, one is an extension type and the other one is a compression gas spring? Is it true? I rarely see people talking about the direction of the damping for gas springs.
The extension motion is damped. This is one of the features of a gas spring over a regular helical steel spring -- there is force, but it is damped, so your door does not slam open violently. The damping force is in opposition to the gas force, slowing down the spring motion. The gas springs described here are the commonly-used kind that provide force in the extension direction.
they are 'blockable" gas springs. They are a gas spring where internal valving only allows the rod to move when the valve is opened, by the operator. .
Great video!
good video, love it.
very useful information thanks a lot
Glad it was helpful!
what and how did you get the spring attached to the extrusion?

What are the names for the ones like in office chairs? Those that use a mechanism to allow it to extend or compress

Is it available in india
Is there a bidirectional variant @guden
There is a bidirectional damper but not a gas spring.
Door opens smoothly
