You should have something else stopping the full opening of your object being lifted, rather than letting the extremity of the strut (where it can go no further) be the 'stopper'. The wording in the UA-cam clip is 'motion stop' rather than 'emotion'...probably a simple typo.
Wait I'm confused. You say install gas spring ROD END DOWN. Why is the one on my vehicle trunk ROD END UP? Should I go and turn them around to make it correct?
That's rod end down in the position where the lid is at the majority of the time. For example the gas spring used in a trunk of a car is only seen when it is open and it is in that position a very small percent of the time. So when the trunk is closed the rod end is most likely down.
If the inner shaft is bit couple of cm. longer is it possible to cut and put a thread to pit the end ball joint plastic fitting?...as in my case, its 2 cm longer ...thank u for quick response...
No. Typically you would use a damper. And for that type of application, you would use an extension damper. One of our videos explains the difference between the dampers and gas springs.
we are Chinese gas spring supplier
your video is perfect, thanks.
Could you please explain what you mean by not using the gas spring as emotion stop?

Are there readily availanle gas springs with a negative internal pressure/suction to want to pull closed as apossed to push open?

GOOD DAY. HOW TO MEASURE THE CORRECT PRESSURE IN THE GAS SPRINGS?

Useful video, thanks for the info.
WE ARE WORKING USING THIS , BUT WE BELIVE HTE LIFE TIME IS OVER.,.CAN YOU HELP US?
Can gas struts be used in 'tension' mode?
eg. a fold down wall table.

i need this gas spring .Can u give me the contact details for buying this.
Can I get a gas spring that can lift 1 tonne?
No, at that point I'd imagine you're looking at hydraulics.
thank u
With proper treatment they could last up two years.
Or much longer. Depends on the application and the environment it is operating in. Lots of factors.
