Sammy Horowitz is a stuntman, playwright/screenwriter and actor from Chicago. Sammy was a member of a predominantly Latino street gang and spent 8 years, 7 months, and 15 days in prison. After prison Sammy spent time as a bouncer, stick up artist, M.M.A. fighter, and eventually a full-time professional boxer who competed in prize fights all over the country. He eventually found the entertainment industry, first as a stuntman hustling his way to find work and fight for his due, and eventually ending up as a writer on POWER BOOK IV: FORCE. - Розваги
I don't know John and obviously I'm not around him all day but from these podcast episodes and other media I've seen him in..He legit seems like an authentic real dude. He seems like someone who if you're friends with him he's 100% loyal and will be there for you no matter what.
That's why his podcast is called Real Ones, because he's one of us.
@@alpha13sierra I get that but I'm saying how many artists or actors or what not have said they're real and it turned out they were not.
@@alpha13sierra no one is 100% real. Everyone is scamming everyone in 2022.
If he was an "authentic dude" these podcasts would be for free...FULL PODCASTS like Rogan. Get off the nutts
These vatos look eh like eh bruvas
I grew up with Sammy in NE Ohio. I remember taking outfield practice with him in little league. He was a bad bad bad bad kid. I’m glad to see he’s doing well for himself
Sammy was my celly in mt sterling. He fought a guy called big he’d in the cell next to ours. I vouch for this story %1000 just from Sam’s character
They're like twin brothers who are the same but grew up in different families hahah what a trip.
Jon I LOVE your interviews. You actually care about the people you chat with. Super cool to see. Cole D. Walker fr
Lmaoo wasnt that his ghost recon character? Loved that game
@@TeamSwagGod same! Jon’s character made that game so awesome!
I got into a fight with someone with heavy hands. It sucks. You expect a certain level of power but when someone has them steel fists your vision shakes and your brain like doesn't catch up for a couple seconds. It's weird. I literally thought the dude hit me with a led pipe or hammer.
for real, and some dudes you cannot judge by their size or build at all, got hit by a dude one time (wasnt big, wasnt built, didnt carry any pride in the walk etc etc, just an average jelly belly), dude knocked me the fuck out, fell flat on the concrete, ended up a busted jaw and skull fractures from the fall, i dont even remember the actual punch or 24hours or so after the punch, that memory was erased 100%, be careful, sometimes a dude you would never guess can throw hammers with both hands
@@isaactuuri6488 Jesus dude that sucks. I've seen dudes get KOd and that thud off concrete shakes me everytime. I had a friend die in middle school from running Into someone in roller hockey and he smacked the back of his head and went into a coma and his parents had to pull the plug. I gave up all that street fighting shxt years ago. I used to train and box and it's so much more like disciplined and more controlled and it's not likely you're gonna die in the middle of the ring. Out on the street though so much worse can happen other than just getting KOd or if u do that concrete can kill you as well.
@@antonlifer4449 well said brother! One of my instructors son died from such things, he was 23 or so, stepped wrong on a skateboard (was JUST stepping on, not even riding yet) and he happened to be enough off to slip, fall backwards, and hit the back of his skull on the curb, died before EMTs arrived.
@@isaactuuri6488 Jesus that's horrible. I had a couple close calls playing hockey myself and once knocked myself out cold falling off my bike. I was majorly concussed for like a month. I could of easily died. Wore helmets after that. I played sports my whole life and boxed recreationally and Ivr probably had about 8 concussions. Luckily no tumors or anything like that. Ive had it checked a couple times. My best friend died from brain cancer and he swore the tumor started from when his head got smashed through a windshield in a car accident. Our skull only protects us so much. I hate that concussion feeling. It feels like your brain is sloshing around and u can feel it moving back and forth and you're like it shouldn't be moving.
I'm almost 50, if I could redo it all over again I'd avoid all my head injuries from fights and sports, they fundamentally changed the way my brain works and it gets worse the older you get.
I greatly admire John Bernthal's long-spoken work ethics, kindness, courteous manners and, at times, no-nonsense attitude. I somehow reflect a lot in his attitudes, and sees some more of my late older brother's attitudes in him, as well. Shout out to the GOAT.
I love how he fits the mood of all of his guest one of the best podcast on UA-cam! Great listener!
John is the Joe Rogan we actually want. Thanks for being a wholseome dude and respectfully giving your guests a platform to hear them out.
No, we don't. You do. There's a big difference.
@@mikesame8321 thanks for clarifying bud, couldn't have made it through the day without that.
@@ryanacel9658 we just want to. Make sure no one speaks for us

And we does not have to mean the masses, it could simply be my fiance and I...so heckle elsewhere joker. Don't think so highly of yourself.
Awesome interview here , like to watch more of this full interview...
These are amazing. Thank you, Jon.
Having spent a few calendars in the penitentiary myself, it's always interesting to hear stories from fellow ex-cons about their experiences in various units across the country. Obviously there are differences in the politics, depending on where you get locked up, and also whether it's state VS the feds too, so I enjoy listening to stories like this. It's easy to relate that to my own personal experiences in prison. Great episode though, and I'm glad I stumbled across JB's podcast.
Edit: Also, it's pretty funny that they talked about that "old man strength", as that's what the young bucks said about me when I was locked up too -- even though I was only 28 at the time I got locked up.
One of the greatest shows on UA-cam. Can’t wait to make it and meet you man
Keep up the great work man 👍
0:23 I’m listening to this podcast at work right now and I’m loving it! Very entertaining ❤ I absolutely love your podcast!!
Great story. I’m looking forward to the full.
Wow y’all could be brothers! Great show JB!
its like watching brothers talking in the backyard ..... great interview
This one is relatable. Good interview.
Loved him as an actor since watching him on the walking dead. Now I’m a big fan. He really seems like a good man and does a great job in his interviews. Can’t wait for his next interview I’ve seen them all. ❤️
Great interview
Great content man, top shelf really
Cool story man! I'm a tattoo artist and one of my clients is a guard there. I believe Dixon is a prison physch ward now. Lots of craziness in there! 💯
I know you don’t remember me but we took a picture together at a comic con in San Antonio. One of the best days of my life meeting you Jon
I always loved bernthal from the movies but this guy is as real as it gets good dude!
I always liked Jon in everything I've seen... But after listening to him on Rogan's podcast, and then watching some of these - he is such a smart, genuine, and truly good dude! A man's man, and we desperately need more role models like Jon in the world.
I will pay money, I just want these interviews in full. I found it
Theyre on Patreon for a monthly subscription fee.
I’m near Dixon, this is mind-blowing to hear
Finally, the Dude knows how to light a stogie.
Right 😂😂 too many mofos on yt smoking them so weirdly
That's nice to bring your stunt double on a podcast
Truly two real ones right here, good on em
John was such a cool guy. I talked to him for like five minutes about Acting he gave me some great advice, I didn’t even get charged for the picture we took at comicon. He understands, what a starving artist is. lol
Gay
I didn't watch the full interview, but I guess he does or did stunt work for Jon. They look really similar at certain angles. It would be pretty easy to blend them on camera.
100%
Title is legit, Jon is a real one, I could tell when I saw him first time on walking dead, Shane was the best character, flawed, likable, easy to hate... once he was killed off, the show was crap to me. Fell apart. Thoroughly enjoyed everything he's been in afterwards, and gained respect for him seeing interviews, and these podcasts... yo Jon, if you're reading this, keep doin you brother! 🙌🏼
That is possibly the most epic thumbnail picture ever.
I like this guy. Jon i ofc know from his movies for a long time. Great talk
Bro you are my hero in the acting world! I’m a pro bare knuckle boxer with a rough life story I would love to come on your show and tell my story! 👊 Keep up the content fans for life here bud!
Great story!
Awesome interview. I was tripping that both these dudes look like crazier versions of Richard Gere. These two could be brothers.
Doppelganger syndrome in full effect.
Holy shit.
how are they NOT related? They look like fraternal twins!
Sammy is a very good young man who is now doing very well post boxing. Always very stand up young man.
I love them together. Lol
Sammy is a character. Jon you should be his stunt guy 😂
This guy is the guy John always wanted to be.
Sounds like johns the guy you always wanted to be
@@bluddab9220 nope....I want to be the old guy that whooped the guy John wanted to be.
For sure, tough jewish guy who came from streetd. JB was rich kid who thought he was street
Well, you can see why they picked him for a stunt person for John. They look a lot alike.
@@maybebabyny nah you some trash on youtube watching john talk to his stuntman 🥲
5:31 he turned into Mickey Mouse for a brief second.
😆
I gotta support a fellow Chicagoan. Jon you’re the man and Sammy brother we both got blue and white in our blood. He talks just like all my cousins lol.
Jon is a smart guy. He intuitively and consciously picks up on ques.
Dope guest
"They gave me a pumpkin head deluxe" jesus😂
Jon seems like a really cool guy. I'd like to meet him.
love the interviews hate the thumbnails hahaha
Thankyou
This guy is super cool and use to box out of a gym down the block from me that I had my son in named Sam Colonna Boxing, aka The Russian Concussion! Great Guy! 👊😎👍 #Chicago #SamColonnaBoxing
I’m from Dixon lol crazy hearing someone was locked up there on podcast 😂
Battle of the boxing glove pendants! 😄
This is what men want to see, masculinity at its finest, also as someone that is pretty good with facial recognition, these guys look like legit brothers.
A Real Man
Sammy you should of giving him a freaking Gurka😂😂
Dude, don't smoke because of peer pressure. The world needs Jon to live as long as possible.
He's smoking a cigar, he does not do this very often
mans said he got the "2 piece, extra crispy" lmao..
Summary:
don’t dry snitch or you get da 2 piece crispy from a mugged up 70’s G
a 2 piece crispy from worm lol
It's crazy to me how two people could be completely unrelated but look so much alike
Bro for a second, I thought John had a twin brother from the thumbnail. 😆
Officially a fan of Bernthal OUTSIDE aside from just the Punisher now. Lol
Rich n creamy with no after bite is my favorite
now i now where i
seen this guy he was just on power
I’m a fan of Sammy’s from seeing him on another channel. Jon let me speak with you, Iv got some things I think you’d like to hear!
Jon bernthal is the man!!
His stunt double should show up as a different version of the punisher in the upcoming stuff.
"Pumpkin head deluxe" has just entered my dictionary
It’s a term originated from the Gangster Disciples. It used to be a punishment if you didn’t follow the gangs rules and caught a “violation”.
Why he look exactly like Jon bernthal
CAuse he’s his stunt double
@@realtinny99😂
Bruh how you think he knows him 🤣
Jon, please get Wes Watson on here. That convo would go OFF!
Are they twins? 😂
Being lock up is fucking crazy
The old timmer was an ol’school convict….
Anyone know what cigar are they smoking?
Phenomenal cigar
What cigar is it?
My brother in law is from Texas, and he says the best thing prison ever does for you is push ups and divebomber push ups. He went in 170lbs, came out 245lbs hulked out. No pull ups or curls and yet has huge biceps (supinated push ups) can do 23 pull ups full rom before huffing and puffing.
However he never gave a shit about strength, he says that being able to do 150 plus push ups and sit ups and squats is far more important in a fight against a similar weight class person is more beneficial than benching more than him...
Funny thing is, he benches 485lbs when he goes to a gym, but he doesn't ever go to a gym, only once every three months.
This is your twin? 😆
His stunt double
damn haven’t heard the term white shirt in a minute 😭
if that dude can make it.... wtf am i doing with my life
Its like seeing double
I've been seeing a lot of cigar content lately. On IG and YT. I might need to pick up my first cigar LUL
Im not the hugest cigar guy but some of em have a great taste. You don't want to smoke em all day cause they're heavy. Go to a nice cigar place and have em show you some good cigars to start with. If they just want you to smoke the most expensive ones don't listen to them. There's ones that are affordable that taste great snd burn great. If you want the best of the best and have the loot then spend it.
@@antonlifer4449 Thanks, for the info
Dnt bro it's addictive it goes frm cigar to cigeratee toweed
@@oliveirasingson7592 no it doesn't. That's called the power of choice. Plenty of people.jjst smoke cigars and no weed or ciggs. Unless you a weak person.
Love morning cigars.
Nothing like a daily cigar or two or three
The brown and red garden gloves lmao 🤣 I know those mfs real well
I wonder if John is going to make a movie about this guy's life and play as him lol
Luv the California accents.....(and I'm a Bostonian).
South bureau reppin!
Sammy is Benjamin Siegel reincarnated; hard and dangerous. Respect.
Let's find a guy that looks like Jon and have him interview that guy.
Is the dude from the fight still locked up?
