No, you see, pronouncing it "Zee-Oh" is actually a reference to the show's production:
It's inspired by the screeching sound the writer room's revolving door started to make after the 50th change in writing staff.
Bullshit. Zi-O has only two writers for 90% of its episodes, Kento Shimoyama or Nobuhiro Mouri. Literally the only exception is the Kiva episodes, which they deliberately gave to Toshiki Inoue because each episode of Zi-O is written like an episode of the show it's tributing, and only Inoue can produce something written exactly like a Kiva episode.

This reminds me of some people on the internet call Tiga in Ultraman Tiga as "Taiga" and then an actual Ultraman Taiga really came out. I always call it "Tee-ga" even back when it aired in my country because everyone know Tiga means Three in Indonesian.

Hey bruh been loving your content/essays. And i have a vid suggestion for you. You said you live in japan right? So why dont you talk how japan views these tokusatsu shows. Are they just considered "low level entertainment" or are they praised highly and respected. I've been wanting to know this but i cant seem to find any english speaking content about it lol😜. So yeah perhaps talk about what's the place of tokusatsu in japanese everyday lives.

I think of the Zyuranger z sound like making the English SH sound but with vocalization as opposed to just the air/whisper sound. Like you can't sing a whispered Shhhhhhh (be quiet).

So IMO this season has been nothing less than disappointing. It annoys me how many plot points they decide to drop for the sake of convenience (like Geiz’s weakness whenever he overused the Revive Ridewatch) or important questions they leave unanswered (such as who the FUCK Kamen Rider Ginga was) this season could’ve been great, but overall felt like it could’ve been better. Also did they lose money halfway through the series that they couldn’t make anymore unique suits for each of the ridewatches?
For Zero-One they will pronounce "Zero" just like Ultraman Zero. But the "Z" it pronounce a little bit different. In the trailer it says "Zero"
Off topic slightly..is there a good site or site to watch Sentai, KR and the multiple Ultraman series or somewhere to dl them? I know about TV Nihon and Shout has the Sentai.

Aye now that i think about...it is somewhat a flashpoint paradox
I get why people pronounce it Ji-O but following that same logic, Kiva should then be pronounced as Kiba and I don't see anybody doing that. How something is intended to be pronounced and how it can be pronounced through the limitations of Japanese aren't the same thing. Characters spend all of Evangelion saying Ebangerion and I don't hear any English speakers saying that. A ton of other examples of Japanese media being named after non-Japanese words which don't have the same problem as Zi-O. Conversely, "zi" is another way of romanising "ji", which ties in with the time king pun. I'm not saying Ji-O is wrong but I just want people to know that it's not incorrect to say Zi-O
