Lord Doomer Valid. Kakashi was one of the most interesting characters in the first series and we got a great taste of his past in the second albeit mostly through filler.
The show is lowkey not that bad, it's just that the mindset we have from the last show makes us hate this one. If Boruto wasn’t a spin off based on anything, i think people would have liked it much more

Besides, let's be real: the only reason why people watch Boruto is because of Naruto. We spent 20 years waiting for our boy to finally become Hokage.
@Jesse Bogdonoff but if they did that then you know that Naruto is extra strong already so the problem solving wouldnt be much of a challenge. So they bring him to the spotlight in hard times and in the meantime Boruto's story can be focused

I think Boruto really look like a lot of people on our new generation. I dont aprove a lot of his actions, but unfortunately i see my self in a lot of them.
I can tell you why:
- The main character is bad written
- The fights have most of the time no climax
- The villains are frigging aliens
-The new characters are a copy from the older or completely boring
-They don't really teach you a lesson like in Naruto
-The old characters have extremely changed in a way they shouldn't
-The colors of the animation look really stupid (they remind me kinda of a magical girl series)
- There is no actuall Goal in the series

That's a very big misunderstanding. People can tell you things, and you will understand, but the weight is much stronger when you actually SEE what they are doing. When Boruto SAW what Naruto was capable of, he finally REALISED that Naruto is strong.

To be fair, Boruto only reached its turning point in terms of seriousness (not saying that there wasn't any serious things before, it just didn't *FEEL* serious until recently) quite recently. There had to have been a time where we see the peace that everyone in the war fought for, unless that would have been completely unrealistic. Right now, with Kara, we are starting to slip out of that peace and we are slowly seeing Momoshiki's sentences to Boruto come true on how his blue eyes will take everything away from him.
I'm not saying Boruto is a super good show, but it's not a super bad one either. It's at least average to pretty good but the potential to be a really great anime is there, and it's manifesting itself a lot more openly as of right now. Boruto's previous anime-only arcs have also been pretty good but also inconsistent at times, but inconsistencies happen, especially since Boruto was quite an early anime back in the day. It's lowest point really had to be the Remon, Mirai and Time travel arc, but after that, the anime has been doing a pretty decent and good job at handling character development, plot progression and even world building.
@@Kryille actually it hasn’t really had any inconsistencies, I’ve been rewatching the show again, and everything that’s been shown had been referred to again and tied into the story.
Boruto doesn’t even do the Naruto run. He be running like: 🏃🏻♂️

Actually, Danzo was responsible for Naruto's shitty childhood. The village previously didn't know that Naruto's dad was Minato or that he had the nine-tailed fox sealed inside him since it was classified information. However, Danzo leaked that Naruto was the jinnchuruki but not that his father was Minato, causing the village to hate him. Danzo is such a piece of shit, glad Sasuke executed him before he could become hokage lmao

Something I see getting brought up is that the grief of characters from Naruto come from an understandable place, like the whole world is against them. Whilst with Boruto, his grief is fairly average and just something people have to deal with in reality. So when you place a character like Boruto in Naruto, it makes him look like a real brat that doesn't realise how good he has it. Which tbh is true. Boruto is a brat that doesn't realise how well of he actually has it. he comes not only from a place of ignorance, but also a place of privilege. But, I don't think that's a bad thing for a character. Grief doesn't have to come from a place you can understand, it can be petty but still be the main drive of someone. Honestly it would be a bit overdone for them to have given Boruto an overly sad backstory.
More so, I enjoy seeing Boruto slowly understand his privilege. I think this is just filler, but in the recent episodes of Boruto, they go to outside the 5 nations to one of the lands that is stricken with poverty and crime. There Boruto sees this place that may as well be a different planet to his. there's moments like this dotted throughout the show where Boruto gains a bigger understanding of what others have gone through, making him realise his own grief is trivial. The way I see it, Boruto's character is about understanding privilege.
also sidenote: lots of people comparing Naruto and Boruto's past come off like parents that bring up starving kids in Africa. Like yes worse have it off, but that doesn't mean Boruto can't have a bad day.
yeah i agree with this and im pretty sure this was at the prison arc when this person wrote this and to me that arc was a vary important arc for team sevens growth along with boruto's understanding of the outside world also this arc had a vary scary sarada moment which i love ^_^ and this arc helped introduce the kara but i agree woth most of this boruto isnt naruto and this is borutos story not narutos

I agree. And I'm still wondering why he has so much work. The other kages (past and present) always seemed to have plenty of time for their families, friends, and students- even during wartime. It's weird that Naruto is always exhausted and over-worked, especially in a time of peace. It's just sad and a bit disappointing.

So true, I would think Naruto would be a better parent to Boruto since he grew up without parents and knew first hand what that felt like. it is not enough just to be around and not spend quality time with his kids just because of work. I really hate the direction the writers took with Naruto's parenting skills, it does not seem realistic to me considering how caring Naruto was and still is, but you know it does add dimension to the series.

This was a very well made video, and i agree with everything you said. Its a child where everyone expects much from, and not having that drive to train or anything because he was practically given his skills, he just goofs around. Its like giving someone who knows nothing about a game and giving them the most op gear, it will make them win, until somebody with actual skill comes along and wrecks them. I really enjoy boruto as a character and cant wait for the point he practically loses everything, so that it gives him that drive to train and move forward

I think this video nails it for the most part. I also think a huge disadvantage for next generations is Naruto has created complete peace in the world. They aren’t going to undo all of that in 100 or even 150 episodes because it would discount everything Naruto went through and has accomplished. But the story also needs intrigue, suspense, and blood so Boruto can grow as a character and show prove himself to readers/watchers. So the writer is stuck between protecting what he already built and extending the story in a meaningful. It’s gonna take time to set up a worthy villain or catastrophic event to set up the need for Boruto.

Particularly those fight scenes with the sound four and of course the hidden valley fight with Naruto and Sakuke. Ah.. Good times those days were. Nowadays I feel that all anime kinda just.. Look the same, not saying that they all 100% are the same but just the animation software used today all look pretty much the same in.

Boruto's and Naruto's conflict is quite interesting. As you said, we watched Naruto grow up and now we get to see him living his dream as Hokage. Boruto didn't get to see that journey, and so much of what Boruto has is a result of Naruto's actions. Even so, you can easily understand Boruto's frustration about not having his father home and can thus sympathize with him, as Naruto could certainly be a better father. I like that you can see both sides of the conflict; both are at least partially wrong and both have valid points. It keeps their conflict engaging.
I find it interesting so many people don't seem to like Boruto because he's a prodigy. Boruto takes after Minato in that aspect, and I think Minato is fairly popular. Anyway, most of the Konaha kids in Boruto's generation have abilities that are better developed than the previous generation's. I think you are just talking about the movie in this video, but the anime expands on Boruto's and friends' time at the academy and their training. The Naruto series establishes the premise that if you have a good sensei, you can become much more powerful. I think it's great to see Naruto's generation step up and train the next generation quite well, so that they have grown so much already.

Shadow clones plot holes with Naruto's Hokage duties aside, I bet Boruto's situation must hit home incredibly hard with kids these days, especially in Japan where fathers usually work an unhealthy amount of hours every day and are barely home.

Naruto could do B A and S. Scrolls could be easily distributed because they are writing. Also Shikamaru could also help with the paperwork and planning for high rank missions. This cuts the paperwork more than Half and it still works since the user remembers everything a shadow clones does.

This is precisely why I love boruto and I relate to him because I know what it's like to have a father and grandfather who were great and you now have to follow suit.
Boruto is actually one of the most human character. He's one of those characters who depict actual human psychology perfectly. Yes, he's not like his father due to many reasons and that's ok. Yeah I actually like the theme of the new generation seeming sheltered compared to their parents. It seems like a realistic depiction of the differences between a generation of parents who lived through war and their more privileged children.
My problem with Boruto is that I feel that the transition between Naruto and Hinata wedding to the Boruto anime was too fast and wished that the writers spend a lot more time with Naruto and Hinata living together and seeing Boruto growing up with his dad. Also, it would have been nice to see Naruto and Hinata having their own genins to train between the ending of Shippuden and Boruto.

I think Boruto will end up as a rogue inter-dimensional anti-hero. His story will be about protecting what Naruto built and keeping balance between the different dimensions, even if he has to take on the role of a traitor. Boruto’s story will be the opposite of Naruto’s. I think he will sacrifice his own happiness and go from loved by everyone to despised in order to protect the people he loves. This would also help us to empathize with him more and allow for the pay off of his eventual redemption. The dimensions aspect is also a great way to remove OP Sasuke and Naruto from the picture so Boruto can shine on his own. With the use of time travel and different dimensions Boruto will be able to prove himself by upholding Naruto’s legacy without changing or diminishing it. Naruto and Boruto will both have accomplished great feats in different planes of their reality so that Boruto can add to the story and world and not overwrite it. But this will take time to establish. The dimensions and Jougou mystery will also allow us to explore parts of the Naruto universe that we have never seen as well. I’m excited and hope the writer can find a way to expand and extend the story instead of overwriting or discounting the original series.

I love your take on Boruto. I really like that you can look at the character and series with more understanding. If I was the kid, I'd be just as pissy towards my parents. All kids have that time in their lives when they didn't understand their parents and yet they treated them unfairly for disagreeing with them. The only exception to this is when the parents in question are genuinely horrible to their kids.

At first it was weird for me as well that Naruto can't keep up with his job despite all the chakra he has, and his experience with the Shadow Clones, but then realised something: during the series, he only ever had to supply thousands of clones with large amounts of chakra for a longer period of time *once* : during his wind nature training. All his other clones lasted only for a few minutes, and they usually didn't use that much power. And as a Hokage, he has to deal with a new type of challenge: mental exhaustion. He's no stranger to working his body to it's limits, but he never had to use his mind this extensively. Just think about it: his clones are conducting negotiations with companies, other nations, they're reviewing data about the village's ninjas, overseeing research, running around town helping people with all sort of shit, and *EVERYTHING* they experience goes back to Naruto. Every minute he receives reports from hundreds of clones, about hundreds of different issues, that require another hundreds of clones to address. It's actually a miracle he hasn't gone insane.
Naruto is now around 30. 30 year olds don't have the same energy they did at 17 (narutos age in the war). Besides, he's not just a Hokage, he's a great Hokage. Considering we know previous Hokages had shadow groups doing dirty work and cleaning up less favourable problems, and Naruto would not let that happen, it's not too hard to imagine that his work load is even greater than any Hokage before (unless Kakashi also did away with the shadow groups, but even if he did he abdicated pretty quickly, around 5 years, and doesn't seem too eager to even help with Hokage duties now).
Verebazs But see, it still makes zero sense why Naruto is so busy. The Third Hokage was waltzing around the village in his late sixties just walking around and observing his subjects. The Fourth Hokage had time to invent techniques like the Rasengan while he was Hokage. The First Hokage was prancing around and doing battle with Madara while he was Hokage. Almost all the previous Hokage ruled at least partly during wartime. Paperwork during wartime and especially during the cleanup and recovery after wartime would’ve been tremendous. Naruto is ruling during peacetime. There shouldn’t be that much paperwork. Shadow clones are a large issue too. Why doesn’t Naruto use them for paperwork? During the war, Naruto’s shadow clones lasted for days on end and one of them was powerful enough to beat the Third Raikage. Naruto should have no problem using them to do paperwork.

Boruto is just kinda of like a military brat. Parent fights and protects but barely gets to see them anymore due to their jobs. To Boruto, his father is basically neglecting him because of his job like parents that work in the military. Not only that, but the kid is like 12. I just want to say something, I think you mistake Naruto’s perspective for his fathers. Minato actually valued over his family over the village, his actions consistently show this, and Naruto was given the power of nine tails to save his life and as a gift, he even explicitly said so. Naruto however never experienced family, he doesn’t understand it. To him, absolutely everyone is his family, since he used to seek validation from anyone and everyone, so he doesn’t prioritise his family as much as he maybe should. Boruto’s struggle is the opposite of naruto’s, Naruto who had a father who loved him so much that he sacrificed himself so that he may live, leaving him without a father, while boruto has a father who is here, but doesn’t display enough actions of love. Both had absent fathers, but for opposite reasons.
