Little story about Hanks look. Back in 75 when he was about 26 or so he and a hunting buddy and his friends 11 year old boy were on a hike in the mountains. After the friend and his son walked over a ledge, Hank followed in their foot steps for safety. Well the shelf gave way. Hank fell about 500 feet down that mountain. He finally came to a stop against some rocks. The guy and his son made it down to Hank and he was all busted up. The father had to go to call help and told the kid to stay with Hank and keep talking to keep him awake. To this day hank credits that kid for saving his life. They finally got rescue crews out there and air lifted him to a trauma center. A bunch of surgeries and a nearly full face rebuild later. He got the nerve to go back to work. He has worn a beard (and usually shades) ever since, to help hide the scars. He was the first performer ever to be the CMA performer of the year for 3 straight years. Has sold a ton of records and his concerts still sell out. If you ever heard the old intro to Monday Night Football - "Are you ready for some football" That was Hank. You should check out a couple songs from Steve Earle. Maybe Guitar Town and Copperhead Road. Check the official videos or live performances if you can.
From around 16-21 l would listen to this song and the others on his Greatest Hits album 2 or 3 times on the way to town on Friday and Saturday night. Get loud and crazy, have a few beers a bottle of Jack or Everclear if you don't care if you don't remember that night. Of course we listened to Willie and Waylon or Ray Charles at some point. A little Prince, Areo Speedwagon, Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel.
Hank was part of the outlaw movement back in the 70-80's they changed the sound of traditional country music I don't know how much damage he did around his eyes when he fell I don't remember seeing him without dark glasses since then not a big country music fan but some of it I love it's all about the story God bless
Getting ready to watch Hank do this song from 5 days ago. He's still playing and there's a video out there from late 70's or early 80's where he takes his glasses off for the camera in an interview. It's kind of shocking but hey he doesn't look bad for falling 500 ft on his head.
Should check out his song the conversation with Waylon Jennings Hank has lots of good music and they made a movie about him and what he went thru hank Williams story
Hank plays with the strap over that shoulder because he plays upwards of 13 different instruments at times during his shows. So it's easier to change. Yes, Hank Jr still tours. He has a new blues album coming out next month. His wife of 30 years passed away unexpectedly in March at the age if 61 from blood clot after a surgical procedure
This is absolutely a true story of Hank Jr. I grew up listening to him and he is still a big time star where I’m from. He wears glasses because he fell of a cliff and messed his face up big time.
Additionally, his daddy wrote all of his own songs and never had the luxury of money, composers and writers. It upsets me when people compare Sr and Jr.
He wears the chin whiskers to cover the scars from when he got his face ripped off. He wears the glasses because after the accident bright light hurts his eyes.
React to hank williams sr and hank williams jr the music video hank williams sr died when hank jr was three years old but in 1989 hank williams jr record a duet with his dad and made videos there singing side my side in the videos the song called There a tear in my beer 🍺
Glasses hide scars so does the beard and none of those in front at least are his real teeth . landing face first on a jagged boulder from 500 feet will do that to a man.

One thing to add is Hank lost his Right Eye during the fall. This is one reason for the sunglasses.

You also have to remember that back when he did fall off a mountain

His head was split from top of his head down past his nose. One of his eyes were basically hanging out.

Im gonna guess in some of the places Hank has played you wear it that way so you can take it off and swing it faster.
Do hank Jr all in Alabama. He sings about his fall. Probably the best song he has.
🤠🤠🤠🤠
Should check out his song the conversation with Waylon Jennings

Yeah, also the hat. If you are doing instrument changes with a cowboy hat on, it gets to be a hassle.
Do Hank Jr's "O.D.'d in Denver"
So, you have heard some country. LOL Good for you. It’s a life style you will never get. Until you get god.

Casey Musgrave is pretty solid in my opinion.
Additionally, his daddy wrote all of his own songs and never had the luxury of money, composers and writers. It upsets me when people compare Sr and Jr.
Anxious to see you and your wife to see Diana Ankudinova Queen of goosebumps you will never be the same believe me 🙏She is an addiction

He is playing a steel guitar.
No he's not!
Yeah my mistake, no idea why I wrote slide, it is a steel guitar. I have an old one in my attic.
Glasses hide scars so does the beard and none of those in front at least are his real teeth . landing face first on a jagged boulder from 500 feet will do that to a man.
Still making money from his daddy's name.
Bocephus stands on his own two feet just fine.
My comment is gone.... I'll post it again tomorrow..I don't know where it went
