Believe this is from the show Hee Haw. Great song and great reaction. For another great story song, George Jones, He Stopped Loving her today, most people believe it's the top country song of all time.
Yeah buddy. Most of us country boys are raised and molded around this song. Fishing, hunting, farming etc. "Yes ma'am and Yes sir" is a way of life for us in Tennessee. We gladly take care of our own and always open the door for the ladies. Toughest sons a bitches you'll ever meet. Guaranteed.
I'm a metal head and I love this it's called outlaw country my fav kind it dark love it you said everything he's a bad ass you two are cool new fan keep rocking
We used to sit around and make up lines to this song when I was in the Army. “I can string a claymore, shoot an AT-4, an Army boy can survive…” etc etc.
Lots of great Hank Jr songs. One to watch is a video he made with Waylon Jennings called The Conversation. The two of them sitting and talking about Hank Sr. Another good country listen is Don Williams' song Good Old Boys Like Me. Worth a listen. Oh and for another possible future country song the official video version of Gretchen Wilson's Red Neck Woman. Have fun!
Always a good song for me, a sometimes country listener. This tune electrified me when I had watched a live version, when he was in his seventies performed as a harder country rock arrangement.
REACT TO MICHAEL JACKSON “MTV 10th ANNIVERSARY PERFORMANCE 1991”🙌🏽👑🔥🔥🔥✨(He performance “Black Or White” & Will You Be There” for context this was his first performance back after a 5 year album hiatus and since releasing his 1991 Number 1 album Dangerous)
Hank always changes the lyrics some when doing a live version of a song. I got his new CD and it is all Blues songs and is very good. The language in a couple of the songs is very NSFW.
Maybey when you become a reaction channel you get a set of rules that I don't know about? If not, I don't think there is any rule that says you shouldn't do this just becouse you may have heard it before? It's Hank! You should do it! Even if you have heard it, I bet you didn't "react" to it? Check out Hank Jr "ain't been able"! You will love it! Back to this video, I agree with you on him changing his lyrics up & even the tune of a song somtimes. I always called this version the stoned country boy can survive. He sings it like he is stoned here. I like it. There is a video of him doing a concert & its a clip of a few songs but he sings the song "If you don't like Hank Williams" bur he sings it to the music & beat from the song "Riders in the sky".
"For forty three dollars my friend lost his life" 😢😭 To the idiots out there wanting to take their/OUR guns...If you want to die early go for it😡 I don't have an F-15 JOE, but my 38s and shotguns all work, and as a veteran I know what I'm doing with them.
Ya might consider a newer version of the song, not some shit from Hee Haw TV ( old TV Show ) Hank JR is kinda DONE now.....check out Hank III (grandson ) ********I still want that shirt from RUSH vids****************
Justin, here are 2 suggestions by Aaron Lewis similar to this you should consider. "Country Boy": ua-cam.com/video/65RjpmfrjPc/v-deo.html and "Am I The Only One": ua-cam.com/video/GSLMHVIlJSA/v-deo.html [clean version]
I am not sure if I would declare this the greatest Country song, especially with the wide range such genres are defined as today. I too am not a major Country fan, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night, that combined with growing up in Texas, and in the backwoods for most of my life, I think I have been exposed to many songs enough to say maybe Willie and Waylon or even Hank Williams Sr, or many many other artist might just take issue with that title. Add Don Williams, Dwight Yoakam and Garth Brooks into the list and I am sure somewhere there is a competitor to the title. It is a great song though. There are some female singers using somewhat the same subject of describing country folk in their songs that could give the same feels I suspect.
There are so many great country songs and this is one of them. I look at it this way, The greatest country song is subjective. Not everyone has the same taste. People are going to have different opinions. If you think this is the best, then it is the best (in your opinion.). I understand why you would feel it is the best. This song was and still is very popular. I grew up in a very rural setting, this song was our anthem. The musicianship, lyrics, vocals and even Hank's physical appearance screams country. Thanks for the reaction to Hank Jr, an all time great.

Most country boys consider this our National Anthem. Give "Outlaws Reward" the Waylon funeral version with Travis and Marty is really nice, Butter.
I believe you can pay attention to the lyrics because , it was played slower ..... You can hear the lyrics clearer
Do kaw liga 1984

Yep. What an anthem.
Long Haired Country Boy by Charlie Daniels, you’re welcome…

Ironically, he didn't grow up poor. And his grandaddy was already dead.
