Can we get an update on this game? Like a "10 years later - let's revisit this game" kinda thing? That would be incredible with some new mechanics, expansions and strategies
You can recruit and fight in any order, and when you KO a hero, that can include heroes that you already played. So use your Shield Agents to recruit heroes, then fight the sentinel, and KO one of the Agents you already played.
Btw, according to page 16 of the rule book... When the wounds run out, they are gone. You don't restock the supply from the KO pile. Wounds that have been KO'd are gone for good.
This is so important, especially later in their game. It's amazing how many extra wounds these guys took unnecessarily because they kept putting their KO'd wounds back into the wound draw pile. KO means KO, not discard back to the deck.
When Fighting a Sentential you can KO one of the cards used to Defeat it... or any other card you have already played this turn and still gain all of their effects. You still gain that cards effects.
They were absolutely wrong about "playing your whole hand out, then you attack, then you buy." It says explicitly in the rules that you can buy and attack back and forth in any order and play your cards in any order as long as once you used a card you played, you don't count it again. They also didn't get the KO rules correct.
If it says a card in your hand, then it must be a card you haven't played. If it just says a card then it can be any card, whether you played it or it's in your hand
Never seen this channel before but stumbled across it this evening. I really enjoyed watching this. Feels like if the players had played a few games beforehand it would have been more enjoyable to watch. Kudos either way and keep it up! Subscribed!
The big mistake i saw is Lincoln who draw a card without having a instinct hero before the wolverine card.(the yellow class hero). You cant kill hero from your discard pile exept the card effect said so.I love the fact of Aaron just notice the error of the yellow before wolverine things at 51:45 but didnt want to scrap the Lincoln turn haha! The wounds stack doesnt get the KO wounds from you guys.
Haha I can literally feel the tension coming from you guys amidst the chaos! I really want to find a board game group :(. Also, love the show by the way!
I think the subtraction of scores is for solo play only. When you're playing multiplayer you just add up all the victory points in your pile and compare to the other players to determine the winner
I wanted to like this episode but they did so much wrong (even the end of the game) that it was hard to watch. Hopefully the next videos I watch are better. I do love the game and think it plays great if done correctly'
You only use attack points/power to defeat villains unless otherwise specified like in the dark city expansion. Buying power can be used for heroes or shield officers only. :)
I recently played the street fighter2 deck building game. Which seems similar. This looks good but seems like there isn't much variation in artwork in comparison
+deanofcool The expansion solve that problem for the same art on each card ;) each hero have a set of 5,5,3,1 hero cards. 14 in total. 5 is commun card,3 are uncommun and the 1 is the ultimate or rare card. In the other legendary they put 4 art for each hero.
This is correct. But I know of some players who still follow the solo scoring rules to increase the difficulty level....as long as they still have fun..
Kewl, I did the original pencils for magneto, doc oc, venom, lizard, juggernaut, loki, green goblin, paibok, sabre tooth, mystique, blob. I think those are it. :)
This game was played poorly some many things where wrong 1. you can ko a hero and still use its action wether it be a attack or recruit second you only draw one villan per turn you don't keep drawing till you get a hero
you played it wrong.. If you must KO a hero, you can KO a hero from your hand or one you played before. If you KO a hero you played before you still get recruit points, attacks and abbilities from this hero..
Why does marvel artist have the need for busy backgrounds and small fonts? If I walked by that box it's art is so busy I wouldn't know what that was. If the background of a scene (colors or buildings) is more dominate than the hero on card that's sad. There's lots of card very nicely but fonts so small you have to pick up to read since it's partial transparent background bleeding into text so harder to read and small fonts for what? Art? Art should not trump over function in a card game.
+Alfredo Chavez not with that scheme ... If you turn a scheme, You give bystander to the bank spot in the city, and then you play another card from the villain deck.
This seems like a very well-put together video, but I do have a suggestion for future videos: add some background music. Just some light sort of elevator music, nothing too distracting. It kind of helps deal with the parts of the video that are slow and uneventful for the viewer. Either that or you could spend forever and forever adding fun editing, but I think just some light music would be enough to add quite a boost in how enjoyable these videos are.
i like playing legendary, DC, and resident evil deck builders, mostly DC but i like this channel, just a lil dull listening to voices all the time, should i suggest a bit of music in the background? keep up the good work!
Maybe you should learn the rules more thoroughly before playing. Like have at least one person be very familiar with the rules. Cause it took you awhile to figure some stuff out, and that's not fun watching people argue about rules. Also I felt it was bland and I didn't feel like I was immersed in the marvel universe. I've seen some other videos and it feels like I am part of the battle and the story just watching. Always room for improvement
Ive never seen so many people struggle with such basic rules. Also the expansions make this game excellent. "i can get this lady" WTF...... do you even COMICS bro ???? Stop getting Meeple game lovers to play the fun stuff. Jesus at least get some comic book fans to play this.
Moresha Nanigans Played it. Even though It does have that mechanic, it is a terrible game. Very un-thematic with villains helping the heroes beat later villains, and heroes using other heroes' gear.
+Moresha Nanigans i have both and there's no point of Dc vs legendary... in dc the game just go and go and go .... nothing happens for like 6 rounds or more ... in legendary that cant happens because of the City thing. in my opinion Legendary at this point is the best deck building game.
Seriously people, if you don't like the show then move along. Stop acting like children. Not everything in the world is going to cater to your specific tastes nor should it be. Stop complaining and leave.
After reading all these negative comments below mine, I STRONGLY advice NOBODY to buy this game. If you do, people may call you "dipshits" for not being an expert at this game (like Nathan Sanchez). It also seems that hardcore players of this game act like teenagers (like Gingybread). This is clearly not a crowd I want to be associated with. Finally, I don't buy a game where the players are arguing for 1h+. I want everyone to have fun, and new board gamers don't have enough attention spam to last 1h+. They need a light simple game that can be done in less than 1h.
Nathan's point is valid. They should know the rules before the play. Watch an episode of table top and you'll see a huge difference. If nothing else, they should be able to understand the keywords of the game. That guy with long hair has no idea what the word "reveal" means. I don't think he knows what it means outside of the game otherwise he would know what it means inside the game.
rbaumRigs It depends on what they are trying to accomplish. If they are trying to display how the experience of pulling this game out with a group of novices who have not completely played a game yet, then mission accomplished. If this was meant to be a tutorial/instructional video (which is what I was hoping for, but was let down on), then they missed the mark. It wasn't terrible in that respect, but it could have been a lot better had they made a few run-through games before recording. Granted, I have not watched anything else from this video series, as I was just looking for directions to play Marvel Legendary (my friends and I had a pretty similar experience trying to decipher the game from the instruction manual and our collective interpretations), but if they typically record their group pulling out new games for the first time, then there's little cause to complaint. In fact, complaining with that precedent established is just plain madness.
Depends on who you play with. I played this game with people who had played just 3 games. I picked it up within a few turns. Our buddy who bought the game had a tough time deciphering the instructions as well. He watched videos like the other commenter did. They probably had a heck of a time playing for the first few games as rookies. It is pretty harsh when someone isn't paying attention. It is actually a challenge to win against the villain if you don't play together or plan your deck. My friends are regular competitive Yu-gi-oh players, so they are already in tune with card game strategies and playing their hands in proper sequence. I haven't had fun or interest with any other card games. We managed to win a few times, but lost more than double. TL;DR Each player should read the wording of the rule and ask the leader or more experienced player if your interpretation is correct. Always be open to correction. These guys seemed to misunderstand the symbols associated with the names used. It's actually fun to play once the issues have been sorted out.
rbaumRigs TableTop is a pretty poor comparison. They frequently get rules wrong. The main difference is production value, which pretty much no board game series but the one ran by Felicia Day and Wil Wheaton can actually afford.
Jexhai TT is a great comparison. I'm not looking for production or entertainment on this, I was looking for people who know how to play the game so I could figure out whether or not I wanted to buy it. I found a father and son duo who played this very same game and it was much better. Oddly, the son understands what the word "reveal" means. The fact is, they have no idea how to play the game going into it. If your intent is to teach, you need to know what you're doing. You should review the material ahead of time. If you want to split hairs about them "getting the rules wrong" please feel free to cite me an example. Also, remember, when they KNOW they are going to do something to make the game less complex for viewers who aren't as.. well.. Educated. They often say, "This rule is being modified/removed for reason X." The people in THIS video, did not know how to play this game at all. My issue was in their educational value.
Can we get an update on this game? Like a "10 years later - let's revisit this game" kinda thing? That would be incredible with some new mechanics, expansions and strategies
9 years later, still love this game
You can recruit and fight in any order, and when you KO a hero, that can include heroes that you already played. So use your Shield Agents to recruit heroes, then fight the sentinel, and KO one of the Agents you already played.
THANK YOU!!
Yep. Thank god for rule clarifications on their website.

I would love to see more.

They also didn't get the KO rules correct.
Mitchell Miller I don’t get the K.O rules can you explain?
If it says a card in your hand, then it must be a card you haven't played. If it just says a card then it can be any card, whether you played it or it's in your hand
According to page 13 of the rule book, you can recruit more than one hero a turn as well (or am I reading that wrong).
Most powerful hand ninja ever
Never seen this channel before but stumbled across it this evening. I really enjoyed watching this. Feels like if the players had played a few games beforehand it would have been more enjoyable to watch. Kudos either way and keep it up! Subscribed!

and btw: Scoring in rulebook is only for solo play ;-) If you play multiplayer, just count your points in your victory piles..
Lincoln is so animated this episode. I love it. :D
I keep noticing something about all their videos.....they can't follow rules to save their channel
I really wish you guys would play this again with a different setup! Pleeeeeeeeeeease?!?!?!?
They made it much tougher than it actually is.
Haha I can literally feel the tension coming from you guys amidst the chaos! I really want to find a board game group :(. Also, love the show by the way!
+Rudy Hendrock Me too none around Akron OH that I can find :(
I think the subtraction of scores is for solo play only. When you're playing multiplayer you just add up all the victory points in your pile and compare to the other players to determine the winner

this is one of the games ive been wanting for a wile but it just cost way to much but it is a great deck building game
when you fight the sentinel you can use the damage(shield trooper) or recruitment point( shield agent), you may KO a card after using it.
You only use attack points/power to defeat villains unless otherwise specified like in the dark city expansion. Buying power can be used for heroes or shield officers only. :)
Like how at one point Lincoln chastises Dave for calling them "dollars", but does so himself continuously.
I wish one day to have friends like yours and to be able to meet them one night a week to play some kind of board game
Did anyone notice the LEGO Avengers set on the Kitchen Bench. Hawkeye and Ironman Shield Set, with Loki. Props for the themed Accessory.
You guys make this game look harder then it is
One of the more entertaining episodes so far. Poor Cap, always thrown away....
I recently played the street fighter2 deck building game. Which seems similar. This looks good but seems like there isn't much variation in artwork in comparison

Love this game. I think I'll break it out tonight.
Kewl, I did the original pencils for magneto, doc oc, venom, lizard, juggernaut, loki, green goblin, paibok, sabre tooth, mystique, blob. I think those are it. :)
how did you get the camera that in the position to record the entire board?
BoardGameGeekTV thank you.
Is it me or flavour texts in this game leave a LOT to be desired!!???!
This game was played poorly some many things where wrong 1. you can ko a hero and still use its action wether it be a attack or recruit second you only draw one villan per turn you don't keep drawing till you get a hero
Am I the only one who thinks Dave is hilarious? :D
just got the game, you did one thing wrong, escape and it effects allways happens before ambush and the ambush effect.
Why can't my gaming group get along this well? Not one stream of profanity and not one mention of any other player's mother.
You have childish friends.
you played it wrong.. If you must KO a hero, you can KO a hero from your hand or one you played before. If you KO a hero you played before you still get recruit points, attacks and abbilities from this hero..
I was shocked when Nikki said she liked it...she looked so bored the whole game
At 1:18 He could attack then play more then attack again. the main phase has no structure. This is generic in most DBCG.
Lots of arguing this episode. Feel bad for Nikki too, constantly being told what to do! lol
Jypsy4Life I think Nikki is the smartest player if they would only listen to her
Alpha gamers...lol. I agree Nikki is smarter than or at least as smart as any of the guys.

Ooh, that's cool.
also you only draws one card on the villain deck, if its a scheme twist you only resolve the twist and that is it. you should do the video again.
+Alfredo Chavez The scheme they got has a rule to draw an additional card
+Alfredo Chavez not with that scheme ... If you turn a scheme, You give bystander to the bank spot in the city, and then you play another card from the villain deck.
Game bang! Opps wrong channel
"Influence".... He's playing Twilight Imperium
Yeah, this kind bothering me during the game!
This seems like a very well-put together video, but I do have a suggestion for future videos: add some background music.

so many wrong rulings, misplays and mistakes done in this game. they really ort to play this game again, but this time learn all the rules properly.
i like playing legendary, DC, and resident evil deck builders, mostly DC but i like this channel, just a lil dull listening to voices all the time, should i suggest a bit of music in the background? keep up the good work!
Screw that idea, music in the background of videos = instant Thumbs Down and don't finish watching

This would be a way better game if each player played as a single hero and they all fought villains together.
That's the DC Deck Building Game. It's a great game. I would recommend it over the Marvel game. A little simpler, but definitely more fun.
Moresha Nanigans
Played it. Even though It does have that mechanic, it is a terrible game.

jesus christ this guy seem to really enjoy messing with the cards...holy crap
Honestly not one of your best videos. It was hard to follow what was happening and how the game works
the game looks cool but the price tag doesn't
Nikki is hot!
This is painful to watch.
Are they virgins?
Nikki and Lincoln are married so I'd assume not.
