Season 3 is on the way. We are only taking a short break this year so look for new episodes in a few weeks.
One minor rule goof was when they hit the third hazard and treated it as the second hazard again. Unlike the Event cards, which are dependent on the current objective, you play the hazard cards in order no matter what. Therefore, they should have triggered the third hazard, which was the self-destruct sequence, which also wouldn't clear the room, since the hazard card remains in the complex for that specific hazard.
after playing this game (and winning FINALLY after the 6th try) it has quickly made its way into my Top 25 games....so good

So I've been playing this with a few friends, we thought this game was brutally hard. We've played 5 games with 3 people and only beat it once. Came here to see how y'all would do, and wasn't disappointed. Great playthrough.

I will say that Aaron says that as Hazards come up, whatever scenario you're in, you do that hazard. That's actually not correct. There's only 3 hazards in each game. The rules says that when you reveal the first it triggers the first. When you reveal the second, it triggers the second hazard. When you reveal the third, you trigger the third hazard on the location card.

Mid way through watching this we went out to buy this game and played a couple of games before we continued watching. A great game and a great play through. Loved how rough you had the last hive mini deck. I look forward to seeing you play more games.

This was a great game and I have played it solo a few times (tough even solo). You should definitely show a play through of the other three movies. This was a blast to watch!

Great video and really shows off this tense game, especially in the end :) We actually had a blast playing with my gaming group when we first played this for several games drawing a hand of 5 cards only... It was late at night and Dominion kicked in for me, but talk about hard! Small rules fix by the way, Hazards always advance, no matter which objective you're at. Good job and waiting for season 3! I've just bought the game, but not played it yet - thanks for the great playthrough! Regarding the comment that was made about there being a lot more Aliens in this scenario than in the movie, thematically it's just the one Alien with multiple aspects I feel, and it still works for me: Someone else did allude to that - maybe it's just one chasing everyone around. Indeed - the movie Alien skittered about, it definitely is a twin-mouth - as all the xenomorphs are I believe, and yes it has a lance tail too.

Awesome video. I never played this game and I think that video could be improved more if you display cards that you explain in overlay on top right corner of screen (for example).. so will be more easy to understand what you are saying for newbies of this game like me.

I almost wish that you guys would have just placed your coordinate cards in front of you so that they were more accessible to the other players and less of a confusing situation every turn. Then if they weren't used by others you could just pick it up on your turn. Just a thought.
That's what's great about a game like this. You can still have a blast losing the game.

I played my first game this morning. For me the airlock was actually the dead last card, so I had to reshuffle the Hive deck from Dead Enemies. I was able to hold out the Combat Area clear very well, since of course there was only my deck that regularily got upgraded between Hive activations. Then again there was nothing I could do to Ash, as there was no other players playing "coordinate". The Boss killed me with exact number of damage.When I was ready to get it moved to the airlock.

In basic mode, it's fully cooperative. So you can play solo with one or more avatars.

I have a group of friends to play these kinds of board games with. We actually won with one person who was able to carry all of us dead people thoughout 2 scenarios.

Sorry but the hazards depend on how many of them have been revealed. It's the Event cards which depend on the current objective.
Also relevant at 1:47:00. I believe that one should have initiated the ship's self destruct sequence if I remember correctly.

Are you sure you still draw Strike cards if you already have a Facehugger? Thematically, the Aliens wouldn't want to attack someone who is about to be a carrier for them. I know they don't attack you once your pregnant.

Will you be playing Legendary Predator? The co-op is the same but you could play the competitive "Hunters" variant.
This video is one of the reasons I got both Alien and Predator Deck Building Games.

So yes, the cat's name really was Jones in the films and characters would actually call it "Jonesy" in the films.
Elwyn Chow Ahhh, now I understand your confusion... I know the cat in the Alien movie was called Jonesy... In the video, during the game explanation portion of the video, there was an orange cat that jumped up on Nikki's lap and they said that their cat was called Jonesy... I thought it was highly improbable and Lincoln confirmed on a different forum that the cat was not really called Jonesy, but they were just catsitting for his mom and the cat's name was actually Nefertiti. I made the assumption that if you were commenting on a video that you had watched the video first...
Unsurprisingly, they got trashed (again). :-)
This is a considerably hard game... takes a long time to master. Its mechanics are very easy and if you organize things in the box properly with separators it's not so complex to set it up, you can do it in just 5 minutes.
Ihave now played many times several of the games they got trashed at...the common denominator is experience: in this, as in all boardgames you need gaming experience to learn from mistakes until you actually know exactly what you're doing. T
This game is unforgiving... you can't get to the middle phase with 1 or 2 attack points only. Simply put, you NEED those free scans in this scenario and there's another big mistake I can see: all players must be able to do something during their turn as you can't skip one because of a bad hand. Granted, Aaron was very unlucky to discard so often because of Dave getting the 2nd Obj. event but aside from Lincoln, neither Dave nor Nicky actually did much of anything. Dave in particular bought too many sergeants and couldn't do anything else... but coordinate is 2 points (mostly) and helps others for little... when it's his turn if he can't do anything you get a new card in the combat zone.
All players must be able to do something during their turn or the game punishes you... learn how not to make these mistakes one defeat after the other. ;-)

I realize this video is a few yeas old, but I hope that in the time since then someone has taught Dave the meaning of the word "Cooperative". He was so worried about what cards were good for HIS strategy and HIS deck that he basically said screw the rest of the TEAM. That mindset is great for competitive deck builders like Clank or Dominion, but in this game - in my opinion at least - it contributed heavily to the groups defeat. You could see that Aaron was visibly frustrated and after several attempts to make Dave aware of his illogical choices he just gave up in defeat.
You should have got the card to seal objective 2 way earlier. Your encounter deck was messed up.
I'm not sure that the player's who's turn it *isnt* draws back up to 6 after playing coordinate/versatile card. That might make the game too easy/less strategic play.
That's probably the case but it certainly did not help us :).

please tell me someone gets a chest buster that is the best mechanic in the game it wont be fun to watch otherwise
It looks like as a deck-builder you don't have much power over your deck. I find that kind of disappointing
there are cards that help you trash/scrap, also remember you're on a clock all the time, you have to keep killing aliens or they get you, so losing time to do minimal things wont really help
also the first movie has one or none scrap, you mix the barracks whichever way you like, so if you want more scrap cards, just add them

Yeah this just reaffirms my experience having played this 2 player...WAY too punishing. Not enough fun. Almost no chance in hell of surviving.
Just genuinely not very enjoyable to play a game where it just feels hopeless halfway through. NEVER had that problem with Marvel Legendary. Even when I've lost I felt like there was a chance until the end.
