Just wanted to give a small correction; The guy most likely suffers from Narcolepsy, as Sleep Apnea is another seperate condition. Sleep Apnea causes you to stop breathing while sleeping, which can be because of different causes. Narcolepsy on the other hand is a condition where you can suddenly fall asleep without warning. Falling asleep while eating sounds more like a case of narcolepsy. Other than that, an awesome DDOI as usual :)
@@M-Mir it can indeed, but then just being tired would be the cause of falling asleep while eating, and not the sleep apnea. Basically, it would just be symptom rather than the cause. Narcolepsy would be an actual cause.
@@Ducky69247 That doesn't make sense. If it's a symptom the cause is the sleep apnoea. And symptoms of OSAHS are literally microsleep and falling asleep during monotonous situations. The reason being that you don't get enough oxygen during the night.
@M. Mir You are 100% correct. The root cause of the narcolepsy is the sleep apnea. Narcolepsy is often a symptom of another more serious issue. This something that I suffered from. A friend of mine at work had it too. I had H1N1 and to save my life I was on 150mgs of a steroid medication a day for almost 8 months. Then about a month to taper off and another year or so of similar lower dose meds. Besides the uncontrollable mood swings, I also gained 100lbs+. This caused me to have sleep serious apnea(my C-Pap pressure was set to 16. Most people only need 4 to 8). After several months of not sleeping and low oxygen levels I developed narcolepsy. It took a while to get comfortable with the C-Pap machine and finally get rest. For my friend it was a much different situation. She developed sleep apnea due to complications from years of smoking. She tried to use a C-Pap machine but she was a very restless sleeper and couldn't keep it on. So she wasn't getting any rest. Many mornings she would be sitting at her table eating breakfast at 7am and suddenly wake up at noon still sitting at the table. She even fell asleep in traffic and dreamed the light turned green. This unfortunately caused her to have an accident. Getting the sleep apnea under control is the only way to stop the narcolepsy.

Yeah but sleep apnoe can causes severe sleepiness over the day so its not unplausible.
