Happy Merry, to you both. Thank you for another year of education and stimulation! I love it when Vincent gets passionate and voices the frustration we all feel. I adore Daniel's sly humour combined with his compassion. What a terrific team you are! Over the past several years, the entire team at TWIV has equipped me to have intelligent conversations about viruses, infectious disease, and the mechanism of vaccination. May all who TWIV fare well in the coming years! Big thanks to you all!
I was 'inoculated' against anti vaxer 'information' in my first class at secondary school. One girl had a withered leg in a brace. Why? Because she had had polio. I didn't get it, because I was vaccinated.
Yes a trio test would be great if one can afford to purchase it. Unfortunately there are many that cannot. Never miss a Clinical Update. Thank you for all you do to bring the information.
My 7 week old niece was one week from being able to get her first vaccine at 8 weeks of age. She caught pertussis + spent over 3 months in the hospital. In the first 24 hours, she had to be resuscitated 75 times. Yes, 7 5. It was so damaging to her poor lungs, she was in the NICU for several months, and then caught RSV and spent an additional month in the hospital. Her mother (of 4), lived in the hospital with her thanks to the Ronald McDonald House room. It was such a frightening experience for their family! Another family member 45 yrs. old , who didn't think he needed a booster, also caught whooping cough a few years later, and his lungs are still not the same.
@@callaebeesleywilcox7221 That is absolutely horrific for both the baby and the mother. I hope your niece will have much better luck with her health going forward.
My grandchild had RSV a year ago, and now again! It came on suddenly while I was visiting her and a week later it started in me. I had the RSV vaccine last year. This is so much worse than bronchitis! Nearly two weeks and I am not over it. I wonder if seniors should get the vaccine every year?
Were both you and your grandchild RSV vaccinated? mRNA vaccinated? According to the NIH, "The mechanism of immunity to pertussis after natural infection or immunization is complex and not fully understood. Immunity has been shown to wane seven to 20 years after natural infection and five to 10 years after immunization with whole cell vaccines." It seems like your (plural: you and grandchild) physicians have some explaining to do. For instance, why did your grandchild not develop sufficient immunity to prevent recurrent symptomatic illness? And if your vaccine failed, is it realistic to think additional doses would perform better than the natural immunity you will have post-infection? Would natural immunity + additional vaccination more likely yield: a.) beneficial synergistic immunity or b.) disregulation ?
The person question from California definitely has an occupational health risk and use an NIOSH certified fit tested N 95 respirator. Read about a YALE School of Medicine study that noticed an mRNA vaccinated person is less likely to have autoimmune problems after COVID infection. Article written by Isabella Backman
A year later my cousin had polio, als no shots were available then. 79 years ago, what a crazy time nothing was available. I had to leave my carriage for my cousin, she now passed away 2 months ago.
As I sit waiting for the results of a pertussis test on my child with pneumonia, I decided to listen to this week’s TWIV. And first thing you are talking about is Pertussis!!! Btw, yes my child is fully vaccinated and just had her TDAP booster 1 month ago. She is miserably coughing away. Happy New Year to you both! Edit to add: she is negative for pertussis per lab work. Just wanted to let you all know!
I had “Hong Kong” flu back in 1969. Felt horrible and it took a couple of months before I was completely myself again. I was in middle school at the time.
I don't remember having had that specifically but I probably did, I caught every other thing. There are some who say that the Woodstock Festival was the OG superspreader event, but I doubt that anyone who was there has the least regret...
Whooping cough known as Bordetella Pertussis has an early Catarrhal Phase with Runny Nose sometimes conjunctivitis sometimes cough . it lasts 7 -10 days . If the illness can be picked up and treated in the catarrhal phase the disease severity is significantly less .Diagnosis is by PCR . In an outbreak PCR testing and treatment ought help many .
re: long covid- Over 10 years ago we new that cortisol levels and hyper-adrenalism was on the rise. New studies know that autonomic nervous system impacts and long covid are attributing to ongoing glandular stress. Like to see a study to correlate people suffering from long covid and previous, early patterns of adrenal stress due to long term lifestyle risk factors with erratic daily routines ( chronic insomnia, poor long-term food choices, and ignorance of binaural rhythms)
I wish everyone could watch videos of children suffering from these diseases because they are too young to get vaccinated, or their parents haven't vaccinated them, or responsible adults have not been vaccinated yet.
It’d be nice if they would list the common cold, but I don’t think they track it. It’s obviously much less severe in most people, but I think I have it and my cough is dragging out. Obviously, it could be the flu Covid or whatever else is out there. The symptoms overlap. If the cough doesn’t go away 5 to 7 days, I’ll get to the doctor. I just started taking over-the-counter medicine for it expectorant🤞
Did you post them on UA-cam or send them by email? They only answer questions sent by email. Since you used the word "posted" it makes me suspect that you're talking about UA-cam comments.
My son got Kawasaki Disease, an autoimmune disease less than 1 week after i was ambushed by the doctors who gave him 5 vaccines at once to start kindergarten. He didn't get to start kindergarten. He was in the hospital. Im not antivax, but letting moms space out the vaccines is not wrong. He's nearly 30 and never had any other autoimmune thing again.
If you had spaced out the vaccines, then you would have either had to postpone him starting kindergarten or taken the (probably much higher) risk of him contracting or transmitting a disease even more serious than KD.
Did cold agglutinine play a rol in pathogenesis of micro clotts at lung level ? Did cryoglobuline IgM high level play a rol in pathogenesis of micro clotts at lung level ?
You have to listen to mothers. Please don’t dismiss them as ignorant. Why is it unacceptable to separate the vaccines. Anti-vaxx is going to get worse unless these people have choices
Why should we listen to mothers if they have no valid arguments for their uneducated opinion. Being a mother is a wonderful thing, but unfortunately does not include knowledge about vaccines.
I love your show. REgarding whooping cough - we got it in Feb, 2020 are we considered protected (vaccinated per se) or can we recatch how likely? I haven't listened as recently as had big health things going on but every time I come back to you - you give me cozy vibes even with the heavy subjects. i remember listening to you so much during the covid days. you were so comforting and I appreciated you all so much. Coming back to your channel - like coming home. weird but true. And as I listen regarding winter - I agree. I always say I like the cold but I don't like being cold in it. ... Those 60+ would benefit from being vaccinated.

This isn't normal it's crazy watching people trying to normalize it. How much are we going to tolerate
Too bad the vaccine costs $300 for those 65+ who don’t have Medicare Part D.

I’m glad you survived that😊 have a great new year

I had a neighbor not able to vaccinate her kids bc of the cost. Covid and flu shouldn't cost so much it could have severe outcomes
Did she go to the health dept?
Crazy that it would cost anything tbh

I would add poverty and other stress-inducing life situations to lifestyle risk factors.
Back in the late '80s I was attending a college where a couple of students got measles. I went and. Got myself revaccinated.

Thank you so much for all the work you do. Here's to a healthy (and hopefully somewhat sane?) 2025.
Yesterday China CDC week 51 report:
Covid 1.6%

Brrrrrr. Yucky cold rain today. 🌧️🌨️☂️
The vaccine talk would make a good short for sharing.
If doxycycline works for covid it probably does more than cover symptoms. For one it inhibits metalloproteinases which reduces collagen damage.

They call the vaccination protocol for children „scientific“
So..... If he got hit by a car the next day would that be caused by the vaccine. Data please.
If you had spaced out the vaccines, then you would have either had to postpone him starting kindergarten or taken the (probably much higher) risk of him contracting or transmitting a disease even more serious than KD.
Studies have shown that Kawasaki Disease is strictly coincidental when it occurs after receiving vaccines.
The risk of getting that from a virus is higher though
Can corelate low body thermogenesis with severity of Covid19 ?
Did cold agglutinine play a rol in pathogenesis of micro clotts at lung level ?
Did cryoglobuline IgM high level play a rol in pathogenesis of micro clotts at lung level ?
