    Actually 1977 is the start date for the GB10. I have the 38th off the line. 1977, also have a 78 model. My favorite too.... Love G.

    Great job Chad ... really doing justice to this phenomenal guitar ... great playing & really well researched details & infos - BRAVO 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I'm a proud owner of a GB10 in natural finish (from 1990), bought it from a friend in the late 90ies and have used it ever since. Love it for exactly all the reasons, you pointed out ❣️ All the best & keep up the good work 🤗 Roland 🎸

    Hey Chad, you're the man .Because of watching this video in particular I pulled the trigger and now I'm the proud owner of a spanking brand new GB 10 and it's a awesome guitar .I have previously a owned Gibson 175 .This guitar is still in its own right very well built beautiful piece of artwork with a beautiful tone and incredible action.I started playing right out the box and this axe is highly addictive .By the way your an excellent player as well .Take care and play on .

    Hi Chad,
    Thank you for the story about your GB 10, and also for breaking down some of George maestrio in one your other video. I'm referring to some of what He played in that Montreal concert (take five!)
    Your are an amazing player yourself! Congratulations :)

      I own a GB10SE that some might look down on as its made in China but its exactly the same spec and woods as the Japanese ones apart from the neck has "artstar " treatment the japan one has "prestige"...and its after a couple of years or so of playing in is becoming a real nice guitar.....its very well made with no quality control issues...its got the most lovely jet black ebony fingerboard ..i paid about 900 English pounds for it which to some would be crazy madness type money for a "import" Chinese guitar....but the entire of the £900 has gone into making a flawless instrument that if looked after will last a lifetime it even came in the same case as the Japanese one ...
      If you were buying a gibson equivalent of similar quality (i can only think of a 175 and thats a far more basic plain guitar) you would be talking big money maybe 2-3 K at least .my mates got a Japan made early 80s GB10 and apart from nearly 40 years of "playing in" its had playing in smokey bars when smoking was legal in pubs lol quality wise he was so impressed (the guy owns some pretty high end Jazz boxes as he is semi pro and pretty well heeled and apart from being a fantastic player also very knowledgeable with a good ear ...the only criticism he had is it feels a bit too new and the finish whilst flawless is almost too flawless due to not been nitro ..although his GB10 has a poly finish too ) he went out and bought a GB10SE to save anymore wear and tear gigging the GB10 and as backup this video is one of the best Ibanez GB10/GB10SE type reviews ....Fantastic guitars and so pretty...given the fact that that im a normally a fender stat/gibson les paul junior player i feel like a right flash fucker when i use it for my very bad Joe Pass impression lol
      This video is great and so is the playing on it

  • @jamesstasiak3474

    It seems that the guitar in the majority of the video is not a current (Aug 2020) production model. The opening shows a current model, but then switches to an older instrument after the GB segment without any notice. The specs described as far as fingerboard, inlays, tailpiece, bridge are correct for the guitar shown but not for the current model. The longevity of the model in production is very gratifying, it shows how truly wonderful the original design and concept were. But please add something to note that the description of the guitar in the bulk of the video does not correspond to current production specs. In any case, Chad--you're a gifted player with a lot of heart and soul, thank you for becoming the fine musician you are.

    Monster playing Sir. Great video on a great Jazz guitar. George is a fenom and you seem to have captured that smooth style. Keep up that playing. I think I'm gonna get my son this guitar. Yes he is also a jazz guitar player. No where near your ability as of yet. But in time I believe he will get there.
    Thanks for the break down of this bomb guitar. I truly know very little about guitar. I actually play 6 string bass. Again. Thank you Sir.

    Nice playing, nice review. You've got some amazing speed and note definition, while still keeping it soulful; no small feat. You're making me want to replace my es-335 with one of these, love how they are between a hollow and semi-hollow in size. This would be a guitar I would't feel the need to upgrade or tinker with. George would be proud to see this review, no doubt '

    Hi Chad, excellent review, like it! Currently I am in a stage of buying a jazz guitar, looking for awarm mellow tone of classic jazz (of course :-), not rock. My candidates are Ibanez LGB30 and Epiphone Emperor II Pro, both fitting my budget. Ibanez is the favourite. Do you have any experience with both? And could you please compare to GB10? Thanks a lot, Peter.

  • @ernestdenov3599
    @ernestdenov3599 Рік тому

    I bought a GB10 about a month ago and I love it! I was using an Epiphone Sheraton (ES-335 type guitar) with .012 flatwounds for my jazz gigs, but I had my eye on the GB10 for a good while. I had a Gibson L5 several decades ago, but those kind of guitars are too big for a little guy like me (I'm 5'5") , not to mention the feedback problem. But speaking of string gauge... did you have to widen the nut slots to accommodate the .015 strings? As you know, it comes with .011s and I'd like to go one gauge thicker, but I was concerned about that. BTW, just those little snippets demonstrate that you're a great guitar player; I'm definitely going to check out your other videos!

    Chad,I saw Benson here in Vegas ,and he had scotch tape over the F holes. I think it was to stop the feedback. You couldn't tell until you got right up on him.Maybe that would stop your feedback problem. he was using his fender twin model, which does get kind of loud.

      The fancy tailpiece is designed to change the download on the soundboard, giving some mechanical control of feedback (what do you do when something starts to squeal, you grab it and squeeze). this allows some control of the amplitude of the vibration.
