Chad. My main man you are the magic juice. Its like a veil has been removed from my eyes. I see and hear very clearly The best perpective yet on my musical journey since my mind was blown by the minor pent scale all those years ago Be putting the pent to bed for awhile while i dig deep into modal maps Heartiest thanks and respect to you are the finest of fine Cheers from Auckland
YES! no one ever explains the fingering.... I take that back... I looked at the page and it shows the modes not the "fingering" the problem that Im having is knowing which "FINGERS" to use not how to play the mode... I know the modes by heart but playing them is a challenge because people are playing it one way and I seem to be playing them differently.... it seems other guitarists are using there pinking for the ONE where Im using the index finger, no one explained the correct way of FINGERING scales, arpeggios or modes... they always assume that you already know.
Hello Chad, I love your work that you are teaching man. This great stuff. Please keep us posted on everything that you put out. Thank you very much Chad😎
Killer style and excellent tips! I never give up a chance to learn new solo techniques. I use many of the modes, but love how you point out how to pick the mode and position for certain chords.
Thank you so much for explaining this. I can't wait to watch more of your videos on the opening up of chordal vocabulary. I am sure it's going to be something amazing.
Brilliant video! Thanks for this content. I agree that feeling comes through in music when we shut off the internal dialogue and just play. Videos like yours help us get to that level of familiarity and comfort on the fretboard that makes the creativity possible.
Awesome video. That wss exactly what i've been searching for. Where you apply mixture of modal approach to solo over a chord progression already established in a song. Thanx bro.
Chad, MAN!! Your playing is succinct and concise. Simply masterful. I am going to turn on anyone I know that wants to expand/expound on their guitar journey. What a 'diamond in the ruff'. God Bless
Such a wonderful insight into how I can easily Navigate through changes. Can you please do a lesson on how to use this spot when working on ballads using minor chords
Awesome video very informative and inspirational thanks for sharing. Do you think you can do a teaching on picking technique? Thanks again for sharing.
Hello Chad, I am a guitarist in Columbia Maryland. I love the colors that modal mapping produces... I was wondering if you would do a Skype lesson. I would really like to get a strong grip on how to apply this technique, especially on 2 5 1's.
Hey Chad, I was wondering if you might briefly touch on the the benefit(for you) of this concept versus the concept of framing it(ex.1) as playing A Ionian(5th position) / C Ionian(5th position) / F Ionian(5th position) / Bb Ionian(5th position)?
I can recommend Frank Gamble's books - Modes, No More Mystery. I'm not sure if they're still in print but I think you can download a course from Frank's website

Thanks for posting. At 80 years old, I don’t think I’ll make the spiritual level, but I like the possibility of using modes the way you’ve presented.

Not sure I understand how to apply the technique... could you explain how you'd use it in a standard like Autumn Leaves?
Can you review left hand technical exercises to play faster?
Hi Chad what string gauge are you using?
