I know this video is 3 yrs old now, so no idea if you'll see this message. I've seen you with this Dimarzio set as well as the Super D/36th combo. Both sound great. Which do you prefer? I know these days with amps you don't necessarily need high output pups, but some pros still use them. Any advantages of one over the other? I really like pinch harmonics. Have you tried the PAF 59s? I also really like the sound of the Dominion in the bridge. I'm looking to possibly replace the pups in my LP-type guitar and considering PAF 59 or 36th for the neck, and either Dominion, Super D or 36th for the bridge. Thanks for your insight. Really enjoy your playing.

Hi John, thank you taking your time to watch and comment! I follow my YT channel and all new comments. I'm happy to answer to all comments and questions :) Both sets of dimarzio you saw me playing are on the vintage side. While the dimarzio Dominion is a modern metal sounding pickup. You need to consider this because both pickups, bridge and neck should implement each other well I think. I love the dimarzio paf 36 DP103 in the neck, it's my favourite les paul neck pickup by far. It's a pretty loud pickup in the neck for the low output so I needed a medium to high output bridge pickup . Dimarzio 36th set is a wonderful vintage sounding low output set for anything you want and need but to me the dimarzio 36th bridge pickup was unsusable on clean sound and to picky on treble. On the other hand the dimarzio super distortion is like a high output version of dimarzio DP103. It's fat with great harmonics overtones, tones of sustain. It's the best pair with with dimarzio DP103 in the neck IMO. They both sound even and changing positions in Les Paul won't affect the volume level or tonal differences.
