Has there ever been a singer who also conducts (and sometimes while singing)? Barbara is truly gifted. May her talent take her to the highest realms of the conducting world. She is willing to sing outlandish roles but - so be it. I'm sure she will come to her senses soon.
I like the way her red dress hugs her lovely ass - with all due respect, of course. How is it I had never heard of this angelic being before now? Because I am a fiddle player?
I also felt that the abilities were amazing.

The brain cannot perform two activities at one at the same time (except, of course, things such as standing erect and breathing). It constantly switches between the two. Which is why, say, singing when only singing is different (read: better) than singing "coupled" with conducting.

I think her passion and performance of new music deserves praise. HOWEVER - I think she as a musician is highly overrated. Her conducting style is awful. She conducts from her elbows (a big no-no, as it makes the beat very unclear), so the orchestra is essentially conducting itself. She puts on a pretty dress, lets her hair down, and sings the same exact way every single time, all the while with a look on her face that you only see in the throes of lovemaking. It's the sex appeal. And it's working for her.
I agree with you 100%. Just wanted to add that her voice is really quite shrill and ugly and she seems rather full of herself and pretentious. If she were not so attractive she would not be working.

She is NOT a conductor. They couldn't care less. As a singer - well, fine. Every third soprano has what she has. She has a career because she's okay looking with a nice body. Sorry.
